Description

Okay, the name suxors and stuff, but that doesn’t matter.
This tileset was meant to compete with others in Wiseys competitions but due to some mistakes and stuff (see readme) I couldnt send it in in time. The tileset has only 40 tiles because that were the requirements for option 1.
Go see for yourself if you think I had supposed to be the winner ;) (No, don’t take that serious and don’t go and say that should (not) have won and stuff.

BLARGH!

Not too bad for a small set, but it can be done better…MUCH better.

There’s some eyecandy in the set, some basic stuff, and that’s about it… I don’t think people will ever be able to make something godd with this, since it’s actually to hard to see where you’re going, and there aren’t enough ground tiles.

To some guys above: you think it’s hard to make small sets? Well, you’re kinda wrong. I don’t want to brag, but I made a small one, that would probably have won the contest if I took part of it. It was actually very basic, but better than all the 40 tiled-tilesets I’ve seen so far, and it has got more xtra stuff, I believe… again, I really don’t want to brag, that ain’t me. But small sets aren’t that hard to make.

Edit: I gave the wrong rating. I gave a 3, but I wanted to give 6.

Thetileset IS very small, but it needed to be small to be entered in Wisey’s competition. The eyecandy leaves confuse you a lot because of the close resemblance with the foreground. The suckers also blend in to much making them hard to notice, but then again, that goes to lots of the tiles in the set. The poles blend in (again), but otherwise they are ok. The ground is ok but could of been better, and the destruct block, it has a good color, but it looks unfinished. The backround tile is good though, no complaints about that ;P. No complaintns about hooks either, but i felt they should of stood out more.

OVERALL: A fairly simple small tileset, which had to much of one color, but good texture and good effort. I wouldnt rate this high because it just has to little tiles and all other not so good things i mentioned in my review, but it is definately worth a try and is one of the strangest sets i ever saw, which makes it more unique. :)

Ill leave it N/A since i have NO clue what to rate it, and dont want to under/over rate it.

Indeed, this is a tileset and not a level. Piccolo’s entry to Disguise’s contest certainally would win a prize for strangest name. “Weird War for Blarghing Money,” not to be confused with the infamous Weird War for Blarghing Monkey, is indeed a very strange tileset. There is not much you can put in a tileset of such a diminutive size, but I still must say that I was disappointed by a lack of well…everything in this tileset. I could list the exact contents of Weird War for Blarghing Money in a few sentences. It contains what looks like the branches of a tree (there is, of course, no tree to be found), a green E-like thing, sucker tubes (I think), exit sign, an unreadable sign, and some tree-ish parts that confuse me as to their use. It took me about two minutes to realize what parts were ground. The apparent tree branch-ish tiles are the ground. The mask is really nothing like the actual tileset contents. There is also a scythe which seems out of place. If there was a theme to this tileset, I missed it by far. To be honest, this is probably one of my least favorite tilesets that I have seen recently. The suckers blend in well, yes, but still look really awful.

+ PROS: Not many to speak of. This tileset does make OK use of small area. The signs did not look that awful.

- CONS: This tileset, to be honest, has many cons. It looks ugly. It’s hard to use. No theme to speak of. I could go on…

VERDICT: I was tempted to rate this higher because I knew that Wisety’s tileset competition’s rules are strict, but I can not rate higher just because of why the tileset is so limited. The truth is that this is not a very good tileset at all, even for the small area. I give it a 3.5 and no download recommendation. Do not let this hurt your feelings, though, as I doubt any other contest uploads will be anywhere near a ten. Keep working on tilesets and good luck. I’m sorry, but after a lot of consideration, I feel that I should rate this. I know it was for the contest, but that should not sway my rating. I still think that this tileset is worth 3.5 and only 3.5, regardless of the conditions it was made under. If I made a special thing for only this tileset because of the competition, I would have to give others the same treatment. I am sorry, but 3.5 is all I can give this.[This review has been edited by Trafton AT]

Hmm… interesting review..
I knew this tileset wasn’t what I wanted but a 3,5? Never thought of that…, anyways, I can make tilesets Trafton, look at Desperate Cry Remastered, it got some ratings…..
Anyways, thanks for your reviews…lol.. I think I should wait a little for more reviews.
BTW, I DO think it’s better than a tileset with just gradients and even simpler mask than mine……(hint)….

GRAMMAR EDIT: “….names here: THIS ISNT A LVL THIS is A TILESET!!!”

Really now trafton, I didn’t find it THAT bad. I entered the contest, and I downloaded everyones entryes, and for what Disguise had everyone do, this one prob. could have one a prize, if he had entered it sooner.

Yes, it is small, but the graphics are awsome. Eats Trafton’s 3.5

Download? If you like small naturely abstract tilesets, (like me) get it. If you don’t, then get it and see if this changes your mind.

..read Trafton’s review. The only good part of this tileset is that the graphics are good, but you can’t see any of the graphics unless you use low detail, at which point everything looks bland.
Oh, and the masking mostly works, though even it has bugs. Yes, it’s 40 tiles, and he didn’t get the masking perfect.

What are you people? Crazy? Seesh, if you guys think you can build something better with 40 tiles than try it. This Tileset SHOULD NOT GET A RATING LOWER THAN 5.5 if you ask me, it HAS the standard basics in it AND the graphics look all fine. So shutt up.

Really, what SSJ said is the truth. This jungle-like tileset COSTS ONLY $1.80! BUY IT NOW haves all standard tiles and the layer 6 & 7 included. The graphics are nice, only the name need some help. You could make it “Blarghing War for Weird Money”.
