Description

Well, this pack started out as a pack with one level made in each one of the jj2 tilesets. When Disguise told me about GT I decided that it was taking too long and that I would release a pack with what I got. A few of the levels are edited ones but most are new. There is too much too say to actually tell you about the levels and I don’t think that Disguise will be too happy if I spend another day on this pack, his comment was “you’re wasting your time”. The music is all default cuz I don’t have the net to get mods ;(. So I’ll just end off by saying enjoy!

Awesome!!! Despite the boring name of the pack, it contains 13(!) elite Jazz2 battle levels (plus two versions of a great tileset by Disguise).
Design and eyecandy in all of the levels is completely terrific. These maps don’t have all the useless events and knick-knack most average creations have (pretty much like "Gameplay Theory" btw). Too awesome and too much to describe it here. Distruct really knows the South African style of level making (very open and "platformish" as seens in Disguise’s and Dats’ creations) and adds some pretty cool ideas by his own.
I have only one small complaint: i saw the "Ultimate War" level before (J2C probably) and i really loved the custom background music. Now, the author replaced it with freeze.j2b which doesn’t fit well. Bad idea. Don’t hurry with your level releases just because you can’t get the MOD files immediately.
However, the final message is clear: NOONE should MISS THiS superb BATTLE PACK! It’s a MUST DOWNLOAD and one of my very VERY favourite packs recently.

Very very nice.

I love these levels, even though the eye candy was confusing and a little overdone at times. The layout of these levels were good (but basic at times…) The weapons placement was VERY good. I like the style of design, the tilesets were used well. It would be hard for me to give critique for all of the levels here, so I’ll just say it all in 2 words: VERY AWESOME.

I didn’t like this as much as you ppl did, but it still deserves a high rating and such. It is everything he has ever designed up to the point. From the very first level he drew up in Mr. George’s science class while I was planning my air battle pack to the later ones he wanted to make for his huge pack.

Aiko, the ‘South African’ type of level design is called by us as the slap-dash method. We don’t know what the fuss is all about, honest, it’s just too easy. Put down a bunch of random platforms, join them together in various forms by ramps and such, and voila, you have a level!

A pretty good pack. It’s very challenging rating a pack, since I have different things to say about each level. Anyways, all the levels have decent to good level design. (Mostly good). Some levels do take away from the design with confusing. Some levels I do find very confusing. Also, the eye candy in a few levels I dislike a bit.

Any battler would want to download this.

A very spiffy litle pack. It has 13 very well designed levels, with good eyecandy, good names, good ammo placement and such. The levels made with the disgiuse sets where pretty neat, its good to see these quality sets used. Oh, and Disguise, i guess i also use the ‘Slap-dash method’, i built a level that got a 8.6 with that method in half a day:D

Spiffy indeed. Good eyecandy and very nice ammo placements. CelL bragging? Not possible. ;-P

Hmmm……Ill just do a basic review

EYECANDY: 3.5/5
The levels looked plain, i found VERY few eyecandy errors, im not usre if i found any infact. But the eyecandy is plain, simple, but still better than your basic eyecandy. Nothing special about eyecandy in these levels though
GAMEPLAY: 4/5
Hmm..Some levels have good gameplay, some have average. I liked the gameplay of most levels though. Better than the eyecandy, on my opinion, but not perfect
PLACEMENT:3.3/5 The springs were placed ok, nothing wrong, some were placed very good infact, but the ammo placement kinda got boring sometimes. I got frustrated with the warps in the Ultimate Hotel level, and that wasnt very good, but i still liked that level nevertheless.
EVERYTHING ELSE: 4.4/5
The backrounds and tilesets were used properly and all, nothing more to say about this.

OVERALL:7.8 approx. A good effort worth a download
