Unniversary Bash 2 date announced! - July 24th 2016
The UNniversary bash is a blast through time, showcasing all the bash levels right from the start! It’s a casual event – so you can chat or play, or just mess around.
It will begin from the 12th to the 14th of August.
More information (such as how plusless users will join) will be provided later.
Serverlist down for non-JJ2+ players - July 21st 2016
Some of you may have noticed that Jazz Jackrabbit 2’s serverlist – the address you connect to to get the list of online games – is no longer available via list.jazzjackrabbit.com.
This is not a problem if you are using JJ2+, since in that case you’re using another serverlist address which is still available. However, for people still running un-upgraded JJ2 this means that in practice they’ll be unable to play online games.
I have contacted Epic Games to ask whether they would be willing to fix the problem, but it’s a big company and JJ2 is an old game, and I don’t know how well this will work or how long it would take.
I’m mostly writing this newspost to dispel rumours that jazzjackrabbit.com is somehow no longer owned by Epic. It is, they just transferred the registration to a company specialized in managing domains for companies like Epic. So no worries on that front.

JJ.net National Tournament kicks off friday - June 29th 2016
With the European Football Cup nearing its final stages, what’s better to keep the spirit of international
strife friendly competition kindled than a Jazz Jackrabbit nations cup? Indeed, nothing, and so the JJ2 Clan Ladder is organizing a National Tournament, kicking off this friday. Pop over to JJ.net site to see the details or check the schedule!
Epic Games is still doing stuff probably - May 27th 2016
We haven’t checked in with Epic in a while, but it looks like their game Paragon has an open beta weekend going on. It looks like a video game. They’re also working on something called Spyjinx apparently? But it doesn’t seem to have any screenshots or anything, so I don’t know what to say there. Fortnite also doesn’t seem to have been released yet.

New JJ2+ release, new poll release as well - April 20th 2016
It’s been a while, but with Anniversary Bash 18 fresh behind us what’s better to keep the community occupied than a new release of JJ2+? Version 5.2 mainly focuses on fixing numerous glitches, though it contains a few new features you’ll certainly like as well.
Some assorted highlights from the changelog:
- The AngelScript API now allows for the creation of new layers and the drawing of layers in arbitrary orders
- There is now an .ini setting for changing the text size of in-game announcements
- More precise control over the privileges of remote admins for multiplayer servers
- Tons of bugs were fixed, including some particularly infamous ones such as crashing on the Next Episode screen and a few anti-radar glitches.
This is also as good a time as any to have a new poll!
|Yes, of course||16 votes (50%)|
|Mostly, but with one or two tweaks||12 votes (37%)|
|No, I use the default player 2 controls (WASDHFGJ)||0 vote (0%)|
|No, some radically different control scheme||4 votes (12%)|
|Total votes: 32|
With the new release, the JJ2+ team would like to use this opportunity to gauge interest for one of the new features (more layers). How many do you actually need? Are you a minimalist or a mannerist level maker? Let us know through the poll in the sidebar →
JJ1 levels are no longer second-class citizens and can be previewed on downloads pages now, just like their JJ2 counterparts.
