Hey, kids, what time is it?
IT'S BATTY ANIMATION TIME!!!
And this time the subject of the animation is...(Drumroll)
Ms. LELEB!!!
Thats right, the off-white mixed-up belle is swinging her leaf in my first full-body animation(Meaning her whole body moves at the same time. Even her feet.) based loosly on one of the sequences from the Video Game masterpeice that is Dragons Lair.(Yeah, I'm a Dragons lair fan... Don't knock it, it may not be much by todays standerds, but it was pretty advanced in its time... Fun too.)http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/5032803/
(Keep in mind, I think something went wrong with the "Loop" command. Please reload the page until I can fix it.)

I can fix that for you, batty.
I take that back. DevArt already fixed it (http://files.deviantart.com/f/2004/05/e/7/lelebslair.swf) for you.

Now that's awesome, Batty. I know I can't keep my drawings stable enough to draw an animation like that... :-)

Yeah, me too...
I'm also hoping they make Dragons Lair 2 3D(Would be cool to fight Pterydactles and Egiption mummies in 3D), and Space Ace 3D(Would be kind of like DL3D but with a blaster instead of a sword... Oh yeah, and a powerup that switches you from Dexter to Ace temporarily.)

*chuckles* Space Ace. I had that one for the 3DO system. I feel they cut out some parts of the game to fit it onto the CD though. I wanted to get one called "Brain Dead 13", but never had the chance. I notice that Borf can make some very odd vacial shapes if you pause the game... expecially right before he turns into the baby. :P

Oh yeah, he uses CaféPress to publish his merchandise.
I'd like to sign up with CaféPress too. Make some mouse pads and what not. :) And it is free and everything, so its a sweet deal. ^_^
Oh, hey, and there's a link to Don Bluth's web site there! With video clips and what not :).
The Secret of Nimh, and Titan A.E. kick major patootie. I've watched Titan A.E. more than any other move I'd suppose.
.... oh... wow... they've also got videos for sale, personalized by Don Bluth. o.O
...And he also publishes his own animation magazine. Sweet...

I wanted to get one called "Brain Dead 13", but never had the chance.
I read something about Braindead 13 being sucky, in fact I think the quote on the review was: "(Company name) created Braindead 13 to test if there still was a market for Dragons lair-esque games. Unfortunatly, it was like using a Pinto to test if their was still a market for cars."
Personally, I try to never mock something until I experiance it firsthand so I'm still looking for a copy of that game. If anything Fritz looks cool.
Oh, and thanks for the cool website. /\:D/\ Don Bluth productions were always my favorite(I like the way you see the facial expressions in the characters when you use the pause button... Or even better- the Step button. Try it sometime next time you rent or buy a Don Bluth movie, practically every frame tells a story by itself, in a way.)

BTW, I just dug up my old Dragon's Lair 3D disk. Fun stuff ^_^.

Oi... don't be so quick to think CafePress is a sweet deal. I've heard nothing but nightmare stories from people trying to sell stuf there. From them not paying people to booting you off if you don't sell well to the shoody quality of their merchandise, I've heard it all.
Just a warning, is all. I've heard <i>plenty</i> of bad from people dealing with them.

I wonder, do you have to pay for the service? I at one point was considering creating some items, buying them, then ignoring cafepress forevermore.

Yeah, I know about it(Heard that they only finished the script recently.). Have known ever since a few weeks before DL 3D.
I'm a little nervous, given my fear of movies made based on stuff, but I guess since it's being made by the guys who created DL in the FIRST place, it's got SOME merit...
I hear Daphnie is less of an airhead in the movie than she was in the game(Which is a plus.) and it explains a few things... Like why Dirk can't talk.
(Also, I did have one comment about DL 3D: When they rendered Daphnie, she looks wierd... When she's 2D, she looks sexy in those poses, but in 3D... Anyone else get the feeling that her head was about to fall off her neck at that angle?)

And by the way, I did a google serch to see if there is truth behind the statements that CaféPress sucks, and it turns out that doing a google serch on the words, "CafePress sucks" did turn up some like minded individuals. :P
I also got a suggestion for an alternative that I'm going to look into. Something called Zazzle... but they don't make data CD's, so I can't sell games through them.

OH- I forgot to mention this:
Spam(Or anyone else who thinks they can't do this kind of thing...), if you really want to try animation, do what I did: my first animated pic was of Xit swinging a cutlass- only thing he moved was his arm and his nose(Hence it looked like he was turning his head.)
Key thing is, start out small. Personally, I'm just dealing with one improvement per new animation.

I too, grew up with these incredible animated toon games...and as a cartoonist, I used to imagine how cool it would be to make a game like that!
Well, personal PCs have made it possible for me!
I attempted to create a 'sequel game' (fully animated) to 'Space Ace' a few years back...(it actually worked great!) until the folks at Don Bluth stepped in...
http://www.geocities.com/mkhthacres/SpaceAce2.html
Soo, I decided to do a complete PARODY of these wonderful laserdisc games...by combining 'Dragons Lair' with FOX TVs 'Family Guy'!
http://www.karcreat.com/ChickensLair.html
...Anyway, thought you would get a kick out of seeing what I have come up with so far...lemme know what ya think!...
