I created an account especially for this message, i will try to keep it up most of the time, but i cannot guarantee my parents will allow me to have that pc turned on day&night:)

My cnx is 512/256 so it should not be a very hard thing to play with a normal ping (especially not from around here).

It would be nice if you could tell me if it would be possible to setup more servers, so i can make a dedicated CTF & diamonds too.

cyall!

i am running TSF, but what about the crashing& respawn?

i am well, pretty new to jazz2 online, and since there are not a lot of servers (about 4 :( ) i thought i could just add one for as long as it lasts

That really is sad. Someone always has to spoil everything I guess :(

at the moment i am running anticrash and am testing on the lan from another pc, and its running like sunshine. i have not been able to find respawn yet, but i guess you guys here can help me out on that one;)

tnx for the support.

btw, would it be possible to have jazz2 restart the server automatically after a crash? (not systemwide of course)

I would think that server wouldn't last too long mainly because the host won't be able to keep it up after a few days. I would guess this is because of its inconveniences. Keeping a dedicated server requires occasional maintenance--checking on it every now and then to make sure there aren't any problems, such as the server geting unhosted since a serverlist went down or the server suddenly pinging for other players. And not being able to host it because your parents might not want you to could be a big impediment. The longest dedicated server that I can recall is Monolith's Battle Server, but Mono had his share of problems and couldn't keep that server up forever. It was good while it lasted, though.

You will get bored of hosting a Dedicated Server like most of us who have in the past. ;)

Or you'll have to move, during which your computer will fail to work again, taking a month to find and get the necessary parts in order to get it working, by which time you still won't have internet access, and once you do it'll be worse than what you have now.. but maybe not that exactly.

Hey let's give him some credit. Who knows, it might actually keep being online and everyone will be happy.

weird, i tried it from my neighbours place, and it worked out there.

well, i'll try to stabilize somewhat by cleaning that pc up (format, win98, only jazz&firewall;))

EDIT
i'm having other visitors right now, polish or something, so it is working:)

cyall ingame soon!

Depends on the Firewall.

if i install norton and give jazz full permission on the required ports, it would be illogical if that wouldn't work, right?

correct me if i'm wrong, but i am pretty sure i am right.

Try it, I'd say. ;-)
