TO WHOM THIS MAY CONCERN:
Please post in which month you'd prefer to go (try to be specific with dates and such.) that'd be swell thanks.
Afterwards i'll post a list of ideas and you can all vote on which one you'll like best.
I thought that'd be the honest way to do it.
(Oh, and just the people that will be able to come please. Thanks)

July and the first half of August should be fine for me (probably the second half and September as well, but I can't be 100% sure there). Or if everyone suddenly decides it must take place in the Easter holidays: that should be ok too. Any other dates will be very difficult.

Indeed Quist.
Let's make a small list.
-Theme park (hehe)
-Swimming pool/beach.
-Bowling.
-Dropping (survival thingy, mind that this would most likely be pretty expensive)
-Sightseeing trip (Visiting a big city and hang out there, sniffing up a bit of culture.
Amsterdam for instance, or Antwerp)
Make your choice or add something yourself, i'm sure we'll be able too work something out.

Heh Elmer, go ahead and try to think of something that about 20 people can participate in at the same time.
I don't have much of a particular preference myself. I'm quite fine with all those things Slayo suggested. Even the "survival" thing (I'm fairly sure it will be fun to vote who gets killed and eaten first when we get lost and are on the brink of starvation :D). <s>And there will probably be some people voting for swimming because they want to see Ri in a bathing suit</s>

The SlaYeR

We should do that during the night and most of the people that are coming have to be in bed by then.
Enigma
Feb 27, 2004, 10:10 AM
Heh, sweet idea. But we'd need some kind of helicopter so someone can see it from above while we're making it. And the farmer who owns the crops might decide to sue us if he catches us. But better add that idea to the "maybe" list anyway ;)

Amsterdam for instance, or Antwerp)
Sniffing up 'culture' in Amsterdam, hum? Isn't that rather unhealthy for the guests? ;-)
Not everyone likes nedercoke ;p
Sightseeing is fine with me if it's combined with some other fun things. We can also go to sightseeing lost boys i guess. ;-)
Swimming is fine with me as long as I can stay out of the water, for you know-which-reason. Theme park is fine with me. Bowling doesn't sound right. Beach will be horrid in summer unless we find a very good place. Also hard to reach prolly.
What about canoeing?
The SlaYeR
Feb 27, 2004, 01:26 PM
Canoeing is no, and swimming wouldnt be fun because Fquist can't go into the water.

The SlaYeR
Mar 1, 2004, 08:07 AM
If you guys can not talk in here without respecting the options other people might like then it would be nice if you did not respond at all and stayed home.
We don't need 'rebels.'
You can express how you feel about a certain option in a more mature way, i will open up a poll shortly, everyone should answer and we will see what comes out.
Untill then, try to behave, especially you Elmer, cussing is not what we want too see around here.
In the voting thread I picked all but other, because I don't care what we do.
Sniffing (and smoking) the culture sounds most fun to me, and if you guys think that's boring then whatever. There is a ton more to do in the city than bowl or swim for 8 hours straight. Or we could do more than one..

YaY beach. I actually kinda like that idea, even though I hate swimming. Aleast on a beach there's more to do that just swimming, you can even play in the seasand and make huge castles (or even objects of questionale morality }>) andand hunt for seashells and all sorts of dumb beachy fun stuff. It seems like the in thing to do in summer anyway :D
Btw, we are actually talking about a 'proper' beach here right? I'm asking because I've seen beaches in South Africa and I've seen beaches in england and well...heh. Need I say more? ;)

good quality sand castle sand and fine seashells. too bad it is so hard to reach where its almost on the furthest west corner of holland..

Why not just skip the survival part and have a survival after party at someone's house? I guess the problem would be finding a suitable house for that.
Aiko
Mar 5, 2004, 04:02 AM
Well, if it's the survival thing or a LAN party, i probably won't be there. Those suck.
Theme park and bowling are also boring, because we were in a theme park last year.
Instead, i would like to see you half naked, so it's the beach/pool idea for me. The "hanging around in a city" concept could also be a lot of fun!
However, unfortunately most of you wanted an early date in July, so i eventually can't come anyway :-(
P.S.:
Shad, i still have all my photos from last year, on the other computer. Just iCQ me if you want them.
Enigma
Mar 5, 2004, 07:07 AM
Hmm, Aiko not being able to come... we can't allow that, can we? Dare I suggest two meetings, one in July and one in August? If we did the swimming thing in at least one of them: swimming usually isn't terribly expensive (especially not if we're going to a beach, and if it rains, we can look for a swimming pool nearby), so perhaps people could afford to come twice. How does that sound?
The SlaYeR
Mar 5, 2004, 07:08 AM
If i do one thing, half of you don't like it, if i do another thing the other half doesn't like it.
The poll was supposed too give an answer but it's fifty-fifty.
The reason i want too go for the survival thing is because the people that are voting in favorit of the survival trip aren't saying "I wont go too the meeting if we go to the beach." and the people that want too go to the beach keep complaining that they don't want too go on a survival trip but too the beach instead.
My favor goes out to the people that don't complain so much in here but are able too be a bit more mature about it.

The SlaYeR
Mar 5, 2004, 07:51 AM
I think more people would be happy if we went too the beach.
So i suggest we do that, i hope that everyone is happy with this idea.
(Hehe, i know that i am, less too arrange :P)
We should go too Scheveningen though, it's near The hague which is easy too reach by Train, the Tram stops outside of the trainstation and brings you too the center of Scheveningen (it almost stops on the beach heh)
I hope that everyone likes this idea, there will be more too do then just hang at the beach, there is an arcade hall and everyone that does not like too hang around at an arcade hall or swimming can get drunk and pass out if they want too.
I hope that all of you remember the true idea behind the meeting though, which is being togheter as a group and spend some time togheter.

There is no need for a backup plan, it will be 20 degrees celsius tommorow, this summer will be really hot.

But Germany is accessible from everywhere. And you said "International meeting", not "Dutch meeting". Country meeting is your thing, but don't mark it as "sticky", please. By the way, most people don't want beaches but Theme Parks. It's something different, I think.

First of all, the 3rd of July is not a Friday this year, Newspaz, but a saturday and the 4th of July is not a saturday, SlaYo, but a sunday.
So the meeting is on SUNDAY, the 4TH of JULY? (Take that as a question, please).
Second, if that is the case, you are dumb!! Because on Sunday, the 4th, the Final of the Euro 2004 in Portugal takes place, 20:45 Central European Time (which will be The NL vs. Germany, btw ;-). I'm not sure if i want to come on that day...

You should take the train to Den Haag (The Hague), Nederland. It should be fairly easy to find for all of you.
What to bring with me?
We're going to the beach, so bring swimming clothes, a towel and sun lotion wouldn't be a bad idea either. Oh, and again, i apoligize for the music.
Who comes as well?
Newspaz, Aiko, Mirrow, SlaYo, Ri, Li, Evilspoon, Toxicbunny, Wisety, Esme, Jelze, Whitefang, Electric blablabla if I forgot you just mail me ;)
When do I have to be there?
3rd July 2004. You are expected at the trainstation at 10:30.We will wait for people for a maximum of half an hour, people that are there later will have to figure out how to get to Scheveningen by themselve :P.
Why the hell do I have to come?
If you want to meet your online friends in real life for a change, then this is a great opportinity to do so, we will have lots of swimming fun and stuff.

I'll be there, but there is something everyone else that will be there has to know.
My sister will be coming aswell, I know she is not a JJ2er (some of you might know her, and others might have actually talked to her :p) but there is a time in an older borhter's life where they have to...act like an older brother :p
Here's the story in short, this will be my third time I've come to the Netherlands, not to mention that I've once gone to Germany aswell, my sister has never really had the opportunity to go to another country and after a bit of a serious talk with my parents it was suggested that I take her with me. So anyways, this year I will be taking my sister with me to the netherlands so that she can have a little exploring fun aswell. Since I'm the big overcaring brother she will be coming to the meeting aswell (I wouldn't let her out of my sight :p). I apologise if this upset some people, but she's really a nice person...that's even crazier than I am at times 8D

Oh, another international meeting. Sad that I couldn't come, and I think it won't ever come to any meeting. I would like, but it's just a darn huge project if I leave from my home-country and travel somewhere further than just neighbour-countries. I at least won't come this time, and neither next year, if there will be an international meeting 2005. Now it would be too late even to leave to NL. But I think that it's not totally impossible that I wouldn't come to any meeting, I think that I might be able to come to international meeting 2006, but still unsure. Unsure also that will that one come. Well, those who are going to the next meeting; Gl, hf.

Oh well...*sigh*
I'm still undecided if i should come to the meeting...
PROs:
- i'd LOVE to see you all again, we had so much fun in the last two years!! And i'm still considering this community a part of my life...
- i really LOVE the beach idea, if it's a hot sunny day
- it's only one opportunity per year to meet all you guys...
<s>- i want to say hi to Disguise's sis ;-)</s>
<s>- i love all those rollercoasters....erm?</s>
CONs:
- my BEST FRIEND's BIRTHDAY PARTY is unfortunately today (Friday) in the evening, and i really feel like partying with him!! And partying means drinking a lot and staying real loooong...the party is at home in Emden (near Delfzijl) and actually i wanted to drive together with mirrow from Germany (from Münster, the place where i study, near Enschede). Probably i'm too wasted on Saturday morning to drive a car (4 hours) or even ride a train (5 hours)...Den Haag is not really near :-(
- i have two presentations in university, one on Monday, the other on Tuesday....great eh? I should really prepare them on this weekend, i'm not really (half-) done with it...
- if it rains and the weather is bad (and right now, it looks like it will be), is it really worth it driving 7 hours to hang around in a rainy dutch town with some weirdos? :-)
To sum it all up, IT JUST SUCKS!!!! This saturday is the worst timing/date for me possible :-((
I'm very sad.
By the way: how long will the meeting be? 6pm? 8pm? Any ideas what we would do (if it rains)? I have to decide soon...

The meeting was great 8D 8D
I woke up very hung over and everything (never been so drunk in my life, thanks SLAY BABY!) and struggled through the morning with an extreme hangover trying not to spew all over the floor which was kinda funny.
We weren't at the beach for a long time because of extreme windyness, but I managed to swim a lil :p
After that we went bowling in which enigma showed us that he is the ultimate bowling GOD who we all worshipped in awe, I saw his highest score at 148 but he never got lower than 140, crazy :O
-Disguise
First, let me curse train company people. EVIL!! But anyhoo. I got into Helmond about quarter to twelve and was tired. I later got a spectacular two
hour's sleep. So we went to the beach and certain people went nuts and dived into the sea. But I wisely abstained. I did sort of head in the general direction of the sea but it was pretty freezing. So after lots of deciding what we wanted to do we went to the cinema. But didn't see anything. So we went bowling, and I pwned Slayo and Disguise in the first game. Then there was another game and things didn't go quite so well. But we all lived HAPPILY ever after.

We got up at six in the morning, everything was really difficult to do and it took a long time to get washed up. So we missed our first train, and I, beeing the person that insisted that everyone would make sure they'd be on time ended up arriving half an hour to late.
So that was a good way to start the day, we then went to burger king to get something to eat, went to the beach so the guys could have a swim. And then played a game of bowling, and that is when the real fun started.
It was a lovely day and it was nice to see you all again.

Great meeting, was well worth the price I had to pay for it.
and certain people went nuts and dived into the sea
I admit, I was one of those nuts people :P. Water wasn't that cold though, although the salt in my nose/mouth was annoying.
About the bowling... I was very impressed by Enigma's skills. I observed the scores of all three 'groups', and noticed his score was the highest one in overall, closely followed by me (when he got 144, I got 142 and when he got 142, I got 133). Great competition, great challenge, GG. Again, my compliments for that, Nigma :).
About the meeting in general.. What I really liked this time was the fact that there weren't two (or more) seperate groups, like on the Efteling meeting last year. Instead, the group stayed together. That gave me the chance to talk with some people who I liked but haven't really talked much with in the Efteling meeting.
