Listserver Quirkiness

Well.. since jazz.contrabandent.com came back online yesterday, that seems to have only caused more problems. The two list servers aren't mirroring properly, so people are getting split up again. I really don't know why it's messing up.. both sides seem to be set up properly, yet the two listservers can't seem to establish a connection with each other. So.. what to do? My best suggestion is for everyone to use nimrod-online as the primary list server.

I just talked with Nimrod, and it seems he and Nebula figured that the contraband server is using the old IP of nimrod-online (since it recently changed). This could be a really slow propigation of the DNS entry, or some old data not being refreshed on that server. But anyway, the problem appears to be on the contraband end and Burger hasn't been very active in fixing it. (Remember he does have a job no longer related to JJ2.)

i have also experienced this. I cannot connect to many servers, and if i do, i time out usually in 2-3 minutes. This is not because of my firewall, it is in working order, it is the list server so dont offer me help of connection ports plz ;D but any help with the "list server quirkiness" to monolith and I would be appriciated

Don't try and blaim that on the List Servers, the List Servers tell your JJ2 the games up, and there IP addresses. Your JJ2 and YOUR connection, and the Hosts JJ2 and connection are to blaim.

The List Servers dont deal with helping you join a game, they merely tell you its address.

Whee yay. The darned list server was evil enough and screwed up my jj2. Now if I use America.reg I can succesfully host but I don't see any other servers up. If I use Europe. reg my server doesnt appear but I can succesfully see other servers up and join them. Pwned by listserver. =(

I've got the same problem here. I cant host and I just can join :P
If I use american it don't show any servers, but then I can host.

When getting a list of games in progress, JJ2 tries the list server is position 000 first, then 001.

When hosting a game, JJ2 uses either (randomlly).
