Hello, I'm new... sorta
I got this game years ago when it came out. A while later, when I thought the online players had dried up, and my CD rom drive gave out, along with other things, I stopped playing.
I just got a new computer, and decided to reinstall some old games. I came to the forum, and it looked like it's still alive, which is pretty cool. So I plan to start playing it again, as soon as I get the new computer online... which has yet to be done.
untill then, I'm sure there's all sorts of patches I'll need... where do I start?

http://www.jazz2online.com/serverlist/serverpatch.zip - The list server past. I personally like to use the European patch even though I am from the USA. It seems to have less bugs and it is a bit faster.

http://jazz2online.com/downloads/download.php?id=572 - The 1.23 patch. Download this if you got the game when it was really, really old, like I did, and you have a version earlier than 1.23.

If you have a 30 second timeout problem, I'm not exactly sure how to fix that. Lots of people get that problem. I suggest asking someone with more knowledge of the game and of internet stuff about that.
