View Full Version : Reporting yourself?

I just accidentally clicked the "Report this post to a moderator" link on one of my own posts. It said you cannot turn yourself in. Why not? Yeah, it's pointless because you could edit the post yourself, but you might not be sure if you break the rules. I suppose it could be abused to get moderator's attention. Any thoughts on the reasoning behind not being able to report yourself?

That's more of a weird vBulletin thing.

I'm sure that the developers intended it so the user could just edit their own post instead. I don't see any reason for it, but it doesn't much matter.

If you want to make sure whether you are breaking the rules or not, you can ask a moderator or an administrator if you are. On the other hand, if you reported yourself with that feature, there is a good chance the severity of the warning would increase due to the apparent presence of an increased effort to violate the rules.

I agree! Reporting yourself should be available!
