Que Passa!!!!

Well, the thing is some of my art may take a few changes...

My grandma took me to an art class she's taking to introduce me and some of my stuff to the teacher, who as it turns out, is a cartoon-lover...

The piece I brought to show him was this Sue + Louie comic (http://www.deviantart.com/view/5623895/) which he thought was hilarious.

Of course, since I was there for a few hours, I ended up taking this picture of "realistic Mat" (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/5624175/) and this Quasar Quail picture (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/5624063/) home with me...

Once I got home, I started using the face guidelines I recieved from him to do stuff likethis (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/5701646/ ) and ended up drawing this piece of videogame fanart (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/5702405/) just today.

What does it mean? Well, while I like my cartoony stuff, I just might be expanding to new things I never thought I would be heading towards.

... Just a thought.

Oh, one final new thing... (http://www.deviantart.com/view/5650958/)

*chuckles* Nice stuff Batty B. :). And Radium, do you have any idea how late it is? Just don't let the sun sneak up on you ;). I'm on my way to bed.

Back on topic, thats quite a change, Matt. They look very nice. I'd like to see where this goes. I just hope you keep up with your 'toons too.

I was just thinking how as much as I like how your art is developing, I'd still like to keep seeing new 'toons by you, and that maybe I should start drawing ol' Purrhead more often. He's been my main character from 1992 to 2002.

Well, I'm off to bed. Ciao!

WowowowowowOW!

Dude! Now that's what I call developement! The pig-man in the fan art is quite impressive, and the pictures you drew there...

I'd sure love to see comics drawn in that quality! =3
( Okay, I know that comics are funny also because they ( usually ) are drawn in a funny way, but realistic drawing doesn't necessarily take the fun out of it.. if you do it right. That's one reason why I love anime. =3 )

You're right, that is a definite change from your previous style. Now, please excuse me while I try to pick up my jaw off the floor.

Actually, I posted that right after I got up. Now who's up late?

And yes, BB, glad to see you're improving. I'll make up some critique thing later when I feel like it.

Que Passa!!!!

Actually, just so everyone knows, the reason I have "Real" versions of some of my characters(So far, Mat, Ms. L, Weasle, and Snooze) is because of a story I came up with years ago before I could draw them "Real" style.

The plot has Mat answering the phone and getting the natural simplicity conservation sociaty which tells him that the strip has exausted its month supply of simplicity(You see, comic strips have to pay bills for simplicity much like we have to pay bills for water and oil... Yes, I do think of stuff like this while I'm sobor)... From that point untill the end of the story, everyone is drawn like real animals with realistic backgrounds while they try to detumin how to cope since they aren't "Stuffed toy cute" anymore. I even have a joke about the comic strip Ziggy in there.

Well, no matter what I never am sure about human body proportions and stuff like that. It would be a big help if you told me what I'm doing right and wrong in THAT area.

988. I like a loose EXP curve.

First off, I'd like to say that you seem to have a good understanding of facial proportions. There's a lot of thick outlines on the face image in places like the bridge of the nose and lips. Generally, you can get a much more natural looks by showing at least 50% of the nose and mouth with shading alone.

In the Jade picture, most of her proportions looks good. Her hips appear too thin compared to her torso, and her left arm clashes with the rest of the image. It looks like her left arm was stolen from Mickey Mouse, meaning somewhere, there's a one-armed mouse running around. I'd suggest shortening her forearm and making her left hand closer to her right hand's size. The only other thing is that the far side of her face seems to stick out a bit far. Overall it's a very good image.

Also, I'd usually go linking to some porportional image, but I figure you're old enough that I can just suggest swimsuit calendars *cough*.

I like the realistic Mat one. A nice touch of casual attitude to it. :-)

All in all, I like how you're improving. The realistic pics are always good to practice on, I say, so don't stop with 'em. Just don't lose your cartoony style in the process. You do a great job with those, as I'm sure I've let you know. :-)

And the Sue and Louie cartoon was good. :-)

Thanks for all you're help: I'll use your suggestions in the next BGAE picture I do(Yeah, I plan to do another picture of her and Pey'j- one where they're fighting one of the bosses. The game rocks.)

The major problem with Jade is she's the star of a metalgear solid/Legend of Zelda style game, so most of the pictures I try to snag for referances only have her either crouching, or backflipping.
(And yes, I'm old enough... In fact, my Radia picture from way back when was based on a model in Maxim)

I like the realistic Mat one. A nice touch of casual attitude to it. :-)

Don't worry, I'm planning on continuing both. The "Realistic" style IS fun, but the main thing I guess that prevented me from advancing to it as fast as most people is... it doesn't seem me sometimes... Besides, I've been a fan of cartoons longer then I've been a fan of reality. /\:lol:/\

Oh, and for you cartoon fans, I DID create a few cartoony pictures(They are in black and white, though, I'm taking a break from color to work on hand-shading.)
What could possably go wrong (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/5702000/)
Ooh look, there goes a Fraggle (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/5701815/)
(Ok, so it was a fanarty week.)

And I also am working on a picture and song that I've been wanting to do for a while. Lets just say it has Sue desguised as the character she was based on...

I'll show it later and leave you guessing.

Wow. Awesome stuff!
I saw this thread from the main page, and didn't even know it was a batty buddy thread - and it made me think 'you know, it'd be cool to see what bb could do outside of his normal cartoons.'

very awesome

Ah, Bubsy the Bobcat... the first game honestly wasn't bad at all. Outlandishly hard, yes, but it was still a pretty good game.

The second game wasn't nearly as good. The toys and shop took a lot out of the game, the minigames weren't anywhere near as good as the bonus rooms in the original, the levels just seemed thrown together, the music was downright TERRIBLE...

And I've heard stories about Bubsy 3D. I'm steering clear. :-)

Oh, forgot to submit this yesterday:

New, less toony Jade, thanks to Radium and the new body guidelines I got from the class. (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/5790238/)

A nice effect to learn in those classes. (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/5790112/)

This one wowed my mom, and she's my harshest critic. (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/5790092/)

I like the seascape, too, but I can't help but feel it looks a bit like a field of grass. Maybe it's the color choice.

But the less toony Jade one looks awesome. :-)

Well, it's been fun and I learned a lot, but the classes have ended. I'm still planning on working on drawing realistically(I have a really boss doodle of Mat as Barry Ween Boy Genius, and I just finished a reasonable-looking map of the island that my characters live on: Airizonia, both of which haven't been scanned yet.)

Anyway, for those of you who want, here's some parting toon shots:
Sue as her inspiration (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/5897168/)
Hope you had a cool St. Patricks Day (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/5897326/)
Jorwell done up nice and purty (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/5896518/)
Can't believe I put off making a first drapht of this character for so long. (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/5896936/)
Remember all those realistic Jade pictures? (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/5896276/)

Why does Jorwell have a bite taken out of his tail? o.O

Slight accident in his rights of passage:
In order to become an official fox, kits must pull off a successful raid of a chickencoop (note, successfull means one they survive.) However, since Jorwell is a supporter of a system that relies on everyone having a specific duty to provide for the entire community, he had to pull off an extreamly bountiful heist.

He ran into a hound while carrying his final required chicken. Considering that bite is the only thing he suffered, he's pretty lucky.
