View Full Version : I've tried everything!

My clan DR used to be so active full of slightly above average skilled players, not they are lazy and inactive, not playing JJ2 or posting on the forums here or the official DR forums. I've been trying my darned hardest the last few months to get them off their lazy duffs and actually play JJ2. I admit i have been not as active as i would like, but that is because of homework and i have been active on the weekend.
I have tried everything from being polite to threaten to kick them out of DR, but nothing seems to work!
I need some desperate help in order to keep my clan active and roaming JJ2.

Reason: 95% of clans don't work
All people have to do is join someone else's clan that already exists, instead of creating a new one. This way, that particular clan has a better chance of staying alive, and also because even if it does still die then it can narrow down the number of clans JJ2 has. I wish you people would stop trying to always be the "leader" of everything. Stop making clans that will never get anywhere.

okay, it means you did a poor job recruiting members, and they don't even play. the clan's dead, that sucks, but it's just JJ2.

I find that your problem is you're beating a dead horse. Jazz Jackrabbit 2 is a dying game, old player should find new games, and getting new clans up and run is nearly impossible. You would be suprised how much easier it's to find members in games like, let's say wc3.
Edit: Reformulated sentence.

I don't play Jazz Jackrabbit 2. Thank you, take a ticket.
If you like this game, fine. Don't get nag on people for give a suggestion. TF, for instance, are a clan on more than one game. Peharps Dragoon's solution would be expand to more than one game, or even move his clan to another game. CC did that. TF did so.

Slightly more on-topic, I'd say: don't let it bother you too much. Good intentions and seemingly plausible plans for a clan often don't turn out the way you expected them to, and most of the time it isn't entirely your fault. Just forget about the whole thing and try to find some joy in playing the game again.
Edit: or try expanding to a multiple games, like Blazey (who beat me to making another post by a minute) just said.

Heck, I've been playing JJ2 every day. I haven't seen any ÐR members in weeks. I think the problem is all the ÐR members seem to play at different times.

Does that mean [si] finally gets the chance to carry out its secret plan?

Yeah, like all the others said.. It's hard to get active members on a dying game. If you want a really active and 'roaming' clan, I suggest you expand to other games (like we did; RO, GB, UT, WC3).

Why does everybody forget this?! I AM A GIRL NOT A GUY!
Anyways if Canadian would post on the offcial DR forums, that would be much appriciated.
And to all other HELPFUL posts, thank you for the authors who wrote it. However i dont have any $ to buy any new games with :(
Any good games with knights/magic/dragons (fantasy) in it that i can buy in about lets say, a year? lol

JJ2 is just boring, I can't find more servers to play anymore, and there aren't much clans to organize clanwars... The only thing we can do is JDC events, some miniature's tournaments and chatting in the few public servers.
Ehm, and... Since JJ2 is boring, I began to play Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne, Return to castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, Unreal Tournament 2003 (I'll play 2004 as soon as possible, I don't have 'nough money to buy it right now, sorry), and few Counter-Strike or Team Fortress Classic's matches when I'm really bored.
People, this game is just dead, if you like it or not.

Something is either dead or it is not. You cannot be slightly dead; if there is still breathing - still thought - there is life. JJ2 is not dead, although it may be fairly inactive.

ok... back to my original topic of my clan members not being active. Ok i saw canadian (amazingly) play JJ2 a few days ago. I see Nick DR on msn idle/away and sometimes i talk to him, but i just cant get him to play. Any tips?
And no, my clan may not be dead, cuz im not giving up so easily. So ppl can still challenge for clanwars, i just have to get in touch with nick first, because he is the only member of the clan (besides me) that is actually available 5/10. So ya.

You could always kick the inactive ones and recruit some new ones :)
BlazinDragon

i could, but then if they came back with the DR tag in their name i would feel kinda sorry to kick them out. What would i do in that situation?

Maybe not co-leadership, but some control over a few things.

Is it ok if you will be the Vice leader (Dragon Tamer)?
Because Phayzon aka nick is very sensitive about his position and dosent want it to be taken very easily lol. Hope this method agrees with you ^^

In that situation you would tell them your new guidelines (more active members) and if ask them if they can apply to those. If not, kick them out (final warning). ;)

my members are starting to get more active and i am pleased. I am also glad that the name of my clan is spreading and more people want to join it. If you read your PM message area you will find a message waiting for you. I will be on JCF on and off the day. I will also be on tomorrow. And i am usually on JCF/JJ2 of a daily basis, so it wont be that ahrd to contact me.
Best wishes if you would wish to join my clan

oh well its ok.
Maybe being in a clan isnt the right thing for you. A while ago i liked being clanless. No one to obey, no rules to follow except nimrods and the server hosts. But it was starting to get lonely and so in that prospect i started my own clan, and to this day i have 7 active members which is working out well. But new members are always welcome!
