Checkbox no, because someones check always everything. There's no space for hotels 'n' others.

I like 'em all, but I particularly like CTF, Battle and Jail Break.

1x1 Battle. This is the best type for me.
In duel you can check your technics and speed etc.

Battle. I started off, like most other newbies, playing it and it has stuck with me. :)
