Well, for those people that didnt thougt i was serios with my tileset contest i started a while ago :mad: , here´s a new one! :D

Limitations:
. max 200 tiles (Try to use all the tiles in your tileset, you wont get bonus points for unused tiles!)
. must contain animations!
. NO CONVERSIONS!!!!

One thing though, you're giving people a month to make a 200 tile tileset? That might be a little long, but knowing how lazy people can get I guess you're doing the right thing 8D

Edit: Another thing I just realised. I'm not sure if you want it this way or not, but perhaps you should tell people that you're not allowed to make conversion tilesets. Someone might just enter a sonic/mario/whatever remake of another platform game instead of drawing the tileset themselves.

Well, I hopefully have the 200 tiles planned out... now all I have to do is draw them, and I suppose cut and add for any important stuff I may have forgotten.

I don't get the idea of the prize, this just doesn't seem serious what exactly is a prize pack?
I good at making tilesets but eye-candy and animation is what's hard for me...

Not that this matters, but it's kind of a paradox to say that you're good at making tilesets but can't create two components that are essential for making a good tileset--unless of course you take the conversion route.

EDIT: You should place a list of participants in your first post, and maybe you could extend the deadline a little (however that would give the participants who are in already a looooooot of time) to advertise the contest a little and get more participants.

Let me just say for the record that reducing the deadline isn't a good idea, especially if the participants don't get a chance to see your post in time. People can't just adjust their schedules at your whim.

YaY I finished in time, I had no idea 200 tiles is so small. Anyways, I made this set in about 6 hours (looking at the time of my post and the fact that I started the example level 2 hours ago). Looking for a mod took me longer than the example level itself, heh.

Ah well, sorry I couldn't submit my other entry, it was way too complex to draw so fast, so I guess you guys will just have to be happy with Alien Temple :p

Only one animation, and it's pitiful. Disguise seems to be going for the later deadline so I'll try to fix it later.

I've reuploaded. There's a whole new animation, bringing the total to... uh... two.

When I started, I didn't realise how little 200 tiles was. But looking back, I see that even my first tileset was 220 tiles, and that was made with an effort to keep it small.

And... did someone just rate my example level? If it counts, I could have a much better one by the 22nd. :p

The game Commander Keen released in 1990 has a 600 tile tileset, and recently Someone found out how to edit episodes 4-6, which have about 1'000 tiles apiece.

600 tiles for <i>the whole game</i>. And they were 16x16 in 16 colours. It scares me to this day.

Well, this contest hasn't gotten an official word from Olsen at all, so I don't really know who is the winner. I'm gonna unsticky it though, it's been around for too long now and nothing is happening.

Looking at the poll, I could pretty safely assume say that Toxic Bunny won the contest, but then again I'm not the contest planner or whatever so don't listen to what I have to say :p
