View Full Version : Commission work

I doubt many people will be that interested, but I'm offering my services as a traditional portrait artist.
I'm probably going to do some commission work throughout the rest of my summer (about a month and ten days) to earn a bit of money.
If anyone is interested, I'm thinking I'll work for about $15 for a portrait sketch. And yes, I do need a reference to draw from. ;)
If you want an example, here you go: http://img.free.idleserv.net/951kf5.jpg
And... I'll do commissions for people located in the U.S.A. since shipping charges can be a pain.

I dunno if I'd ever need you to do a portrait, but I think designing a CD cover would be cool sometime. Good luck with it, at least.

Does it have to be portraits, or can we ask you to draw some random thing like a paperclip or a piece of toast?

Lol. I'm sure I could draw a piece of toaste... without all the holes though because that'd require a very large sheet of paper so it didn't look like crap.

Why would I want a picture of myself on a paper when I just can look in a mirror. Maybe interest would awaken if you offered other kinds of art, such art teenagers prices which adults usually doesn't as much, like elves, nymphs, ect.

I only offer what I can do. I don't offer something that I can't do. Such as, being an artist or a hobbyist in art does not make me capable, suddenly, of making manga, drawing furries, or using 3DSMax. If you look on DA you'll see some artists profess in digital 3D graphics and their drawings look terrible, some people are into poetry and their photography is terrible, and some are into photography but their digital drawings might be terrible.
And you totally missed the entire point of a portrait. Besides the fact it does not have to be you and you'd be vain to have such a portrait of yourself draw, it's really... not the point.

Now look what you've done, Mooner. *prods*
Well, I really don't know what I could want you to draw... *shrugs*
If we don't understand the point of a portrait, why don't you try to explain it to us? =3
If having a portrait of yourself drawn isn't the point.. I could only think of having the person you love drawn.. *chuckles*.. I'd need a photo for that, though...
And.. do you draw fantasy stuff, too? Like orcs, midgets... demons... such stuff? 'S long as it's humanoid?

Hey, I'm the third shortest JCFer.
Anyway, Wildie, what methods of payment do you accept? Will you just draw normal portraits, or will you also be able to do caricature-type things? What will it take to convince Moonblaze that you aren't a fantasy artist?

By the way, let me add, some people get portraits of celebrities done. Lol. Like if they like LoTR they get their fav character drawn. It's creepy but it's the easiest for me because the pictures are widely available and have good lighting. lol.

Probably cash and check. But I'll probably be asking my mom if I can use her paypal her acount.
And I draw normal portraits. Want some more examples of portraits I've drawn?
And I have no idea what it'll take. Maybe some severe beating over the head.

I was showing a slightly interest in your work by asking if you are capable of drawing other kind of portraits. If not, that's fine, but you're not getting my money in that way.

I never asked for your money. Geesh. And I just brought up furries because they were a kind of thing people draw (as an example I was laying out). No need to go all defensive.

Athena was the goddess, and it's GODDESS.
I'd ask you to do a few drawings for a new game i'm working on (and it's NON-JAZZ, omg R3ptile's gonna be mad at me), but i'm poor. Besides, you'd be limited to 320x200 and you'd have to scan them in, and stuff.
Here's hoping you get a lot of monies. -Opens and drinks a Tsunami Orange Cream SoBe-

Great drawing in that example, you got a real talent there, keep it up and you can like make an exibission or however you spell it sis. ((:
You should advertise this portrait business on forums or places where people who have easy ways to pay can see.
Here you got mostly kids without paypal or credit cards or whatever, plus most of em are from Europe.

Could you make one or two drawings for the story , you'll have plenty of time, it won't be published untill it is done, which will probably take lots of months.
I'll send you a box of skittles, a toothbrush and a sticker.
(i'll pay for it, i'll give you more details later.)

Woah. I've been so busy summer has blown by me and in two weeks I start highschool again.
...Wow. Okay. Let's see... anime? Crap. I suck at anime... You'd have to send me a picture of yourself. I'm pretty much crappo with anime, though. Like, I can barely do anything good. I'd have to research a lot about how to draw it worth a crap. So I'd probably also consult a few of my DA friends about it... heh-heh.
...(not s'pose to be on the computer, either. hehe. I was banned for a week... by the way, it was nice talking to you on the phone today, Blizzy)
