Don't worrry peeps no one is getting flamed. Just two simple questions. Or three.
Link is admin, but how much he has no power over the Tech Support forum? What is his job exactly?
Some of the forums have admins/mods, that really don't do anything. Will new mods/admins ever get replaced. Just curious, apparently none of the forums, except Misc. Stuff are really corrupt anyway.
What did Tub say, Misc. Stuff is corrupt?
Yeah, I think so. I just want to know why spam is never controlled. Or barely is, so many topics stay open that are purely spam. I guess I'll just have to linkt o one eventually, if you need evidence. Can't there at least be some kind of penality to spammers, at least like a 5 warning system or something.
The 2 biggest problems on this board is cursing of course, since Derby edits a lot of posts, a lot of mine too, heh. And spam. How about something be done now about the other problem?
Thanks for hearing my rant out,
~Derivative

I gather that Link mainly does technical work as opposed to moderation.

Some of the forums have moderators that do not actively moderate because the moderators are no longer around. More or less, Derby does everyting these days.

Excessive spamming is against the rules, but just typical spamming isn't really unless there is no conversation whatsoever. Spamming is just part of the Internet experience, I suppose.

Hmm?

Oh comeon Trafton, that is rediculous, sorry man, I just had to say that. Spamming is part of the Internet experience? You know what, if you have to say that, I have to say cursing is too.
Excessive spamming? Comeon, everyone who thinks I am a spammer, normal spammer that is, is in reality an excessive spammer. I'm not gonna name people.

Whoah. According to that spammer poll, there must be a LOT of excessive spammers here. About half the board.

Spamming is part of the JCF. Some spam is excessive. In my opinion, what you're doing right now can be considered spamming. Spam is hard to moderate. It's hard to decide what is spam and what is not. That's pretty much what I meant. It isn't absurd.

Your definition of spam must be very different from mine than. Apparently you and RSPSS think that posting a bunch of logical topics, that actually took some thought to make up...is spam.

If you think it is logical to post what is the same topic except with a few details changed over and over ('Your favorite type of car!' 'Your least favorite type of car!' 'The car you actually have!') that the time to think that are about the time it takes to fill-out-the blanks, then expect nobody to reply is perfect logic, then I recommend therapy.

I recommend, you don't start a flame war. You're really close to starting one.
I don't care what you think dude, your here, still arguing thinking you'll have a point. I don't care ok, stop whining about the topic already. If it gets closed or moved, then I'll admit your right. If it doesn't I'll ignore everything you've said in this topic.

Sorry, I just have a hard time getting my point across to people who assume they are always on the right, and if it looks otherwise everyone else is wrong.
But, to answer the question that I was distracted from answering by my suprise over your proclamation that people like Link are spammers for calling you a spammer, I do see what you mean. Expecially about there being only one admin out of them all who does anything, and there being a lot of spam on Misc. Stuff. Which, I guess, makes it fortunate that Derby is here in the first place.

What you consider Spam is part of Misc Stuff, Tublear. That's just how it is. You don't like it, well, that's too bad. We can't satisfy everyone. You don't have to read the topics.

I'm just really amazed over that you would be one complaining, considering the majority of your posts contribues absolutely nothing in existence to this forum. I don't think you should have the right to recom people not to hack you down, it was you, after all, that have posted some of the rudest posts here around, I have yet not forgiven you for suggesting to ban me as a 'joke'.
As already mentioned, your difination of 'spam' is what is left of the JCF. It's no longer that active a message board, just be happy over it actually is used and the community haven't faithed totally away.
On a sidenote it's pretty obvious that you're not becoming a moderator, so stop pretending it with these kind of posts.

This may translate into "I do not know the answer." It is not his job to do Tech Help; he does it as a service. Thus, he cannot do a "bad job" when he does a job period.

Eh huh, I really would never want to be a mod on this board, stop trying to act like you know everything.
Wow, if you really took that offensive, then I gotta laugh. No one else did, especially since I was the only one to target you, and when people like Trafton kept getting targeted, but he didn't say anything.

My definition of spamming is posting posts that do not make sense or are not relevant to the thread they are posted in. Getting off-topic is not neccessarily spamming. If a post is off-topic then it is not spam if the thread has gradually changed topic and it is spam if the post jumps from one topic to a topic that is completely unrelated from all of the other posts in the thread that don't qualify as spam. A thread that makes sense and has some context is not spam. That's just my opinion.
I don't think spam is always bad. Spam threads can be fun. Spam that takes away from the quality of other threads is bad. Too many spam threads are annoying and boring. Spam can be a valuable part of any forum as long as it doesn't get out of control.

I always thought spamming was just posting for the sake of getting a higher post count.

If a post annoy you, read something else. Simply. Offensive or ridiculous posts will be altered by the moderation and administration. It is really not your job to judge what is spam and what is not, which is a pretty though job.
Some of your posts are quite offensive to me. Your posts are your own responsibility, not mine. Just because someone else does something wrong, such as insulting, it doesn't give you the right to do the same.
You might want to ask, 'If my posts annoy you, then why do you respond to them?' I do not leave a discussion to a statement which I started myself. I'd also like to add that I actually did ignore your suggestion in the actual thread, but now that you complain about troublesome posts yourself...

Most of your posts annoy me because of your attitude.
For me that applies to you!
Anyway, Tublear, you should be a little careful about what you post. Like in the "what would you do when you ran the JCF" topic, you said "I'd ban Derby" and a few replies later you said there was no need for that. Same in the thread, first you write a speech and then you say you don't care to post one. If you want to be taken seriously, don't contradict yourself :P

I'm taken seriously be enough people, I have enough people who understand the way I think. Apparently you two do not, you can stick up for Moonblaze, but it doesn't matter. I usually always ending up being the handicap in arguments. This conversation has ended, if someone else insists on arguing still, I will ignore it.

That post is so ignorant that I refuse to think up a constructive response. You're right, the discussion ends here.... It's simply not worth it debating with you.

I really doubt having to ignore the arguments of the other side is the sign of a winner.
