View Full Version : A different type of anniversary bash

Jazz Jackrabbit 1 is going to be 10 years old next month, I believe. Isn't that crazy? Makes me feel old... and kind of funny that, since I was 8 years old, a lot of the time I spent on computers has centered around a video game featuring a green bunny.
Anyway, something needs to be done - I propose another online anniversary bash around the actual date or a weekend near the date (which I am not totally positive of. I think it's August 8th though).
Some people could make some JJ2 levels with JJ1 tilesets, and maybe everyone should force themselves to only play using Jazz. Something like that. Anyway, just thought I should get that out in the open. I would volunteer to host but I can't even play Jazz2 online...maybe I'll make a level or two.
Kudos to Jazz and the game that helped make Epic before the Unreal days.

Hopefully something will be in store...I've heard plans, nothing cemented. We'll see. Be surprised.
Happy birthday, green rabbit thing.

I'll host if you want, with the same Remote Admin Team as AB6, if required :)

I would be pleased with some old levels converted to JJ1 sets.

Do you mean old JJ1 levels remade in JJ2? Or old JJ1 tilesets converted in JJ2? Sorry your posts confuses me a bit.

JJ2 levels to JJ1 tilesets. Sorry for confusion.

Maybe it was eight years ago for me... in any case, I was sitting in a wooden chair, browsing AOL with a modem. I was browsing the PC Games section in Kid's Only. And I found the game, and played to excess with my sister and dad. The end ;|
Either today or tomorrow or possibly even the next day I'll be releasing another JJ1 set. And no it's not Crysilis, darnit.

Which type of levels should we make?

Battle and CTF, as usual in ABs. Be sure that they are 1.23.

How about doing something else for a change? Like treasure? It can be fun too.

Or race. Or coop, as there was no MP in JJ1.

I'm not good in making battle and I really suck in CTF, so I'm making a 1.23 race level (with Coin based exit).
Some ideas would be cool tough..

We need someone to make an online JJ1. =P

I agree. Maybe we could add Spaz to JJ1, too. And then nobody would know whether they should play JJ1 or JJ2 because the games would be exactly the same. :D

Bah, I was first with that idea.Um, no. Nor was I. This idea has been discussed off and on for quite a long time. Just now that the time to do something is here, everyone seemed to have forgotten.
Anyway, someone should volunteer to organize something.

@ Cooba: Does "nab" have any logical reason? :D
ANOTHER NOTE TO THE ADMINS:
I pressed the "reply"-button under Cooba's post and wrote a comment and the forum said that it isn't accepting new posts, but when I use the "post reply"-button it works fine for me. Fix this please.
