The best tip is not asking people from this forum about giving you any kind of tips.

Make a webpage and don't let everyone join, only skilled people or your friends.

Rather than going around yelling "MY CLAN IS BEST AND YOURS SUCK LOLOLOLOL", try to get along with other clans and play friendly wars with them. And keep your own clan centered around fun, rather than actual game skills and professionalism. Those are pretty much all the tips I can give.

Don't make it exclusive or have strict rules.

to make a good clan, you need a leader that is skilled. Not skilled at playing but skilled at leading. He needs to be active, strategic, and needs to know how to....lead. GL with that.

<s>-End up fusing with CC</s>
-Choose loyalness over quality
-Have a ration of both but try to make loyalty at the 75 on the 75/25 scale
-Have fun
-Good luck
-Know who to trust
-Test the peeps wanting to join the clan, for skill/quality. Or you can just duel them

play alot, get to know people, dont bug em to join, and you dont need a webpage at 1st. Just get the members, and use msn or icq to keep in contact with them. Members 1st, webpage later or not even later. DM and FoR the clans who were 1st and 2nd on jj2wc dont have a webpage... So webpage is not a must.

For what it's worth, this topic was created back in October, and the poster has not posted anywhere else nor shown any signs of activity since then.

DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT force clan applicants to do test lvls. It's annoying. :p I would never join a clan if they allowed me in because I completed a test lvl in x minutes. :p

Some tips and advice on starting a clan
Preface: As most of you know I have a clan DR and have lead it for more than a year. Before the revivals and stuff it was very successful *brags* 6 members last april *insert huge grin here*. But as i am in grade 11 i dont normally play as often due to lots of homework and my job schedule. But i still manage to play jj2 in a moderate amount of time.
Actual tips:
-Skill in playing; it is extremely extremely extremly reccomended that a leader in the clan has lots of skill to test people who want to join. If they beat you by alot you can either feel stupid and shun them, or let them in and ask them for some tips about dueling and battles.
-Reccomended that you tryout people who want to join in a well-known battle level/map. This way everyone is familiar and at the end they wont say "i never knew this lvl. This sux, im not joining this stupid clan...yah de yah yah"
-Website reccomended for updates and news. All the better a forum-like this one aka a message board.
-preferably have 1.23 and 1.24 as some people may only have 1.24 and try and contact you through J2O and you cant tryout as you dont have that version. Try to find it on ebay or some special people ;p
-Also adversitse in a server: 3mr Recruiting *and a attention grabbing sentence*
-Have a different theme to your clan ranks. Instead of Leader, do Ultimate Dragon Master for a bit of variety from the normal.
-make sure everyone in your clan has MSN or ICQ or something that they go on constantly and have an active email account.
-Make sure everyone in your clan is active or relitavely active. Be strict about this as they will think your weak and they let the inactivity slip to a mere once a month or even further. Threaten to kick them or ban if it is severe from your clan. It may make a dent, but this will tell other people that your clan means business.
-Make a set of clan rules; no multiclanning, no cheating, no inactivity, and you can think of a few of your own too.
Those are all the tips i can think of at the moment, so pick whichever ones you like and off you go!

Don't start a clan. It takes a lot of leadership, not to mention responsibility. Getting a clan up and run in a game like this isn't going to be easy, neither worth it. I'd just suggest you join an existing clan.

Another important thing is to make friends, close friends, with your first clan mates. Turn the clan into a free-for-all, like FoR, without clanleaders, so everyone can have their share in improving the fletching clan. Get good, friendly players, who are willing to be commited to the clan and do important jobs for you such as recruitment and clan advertising. Don't do a website or get a forum, concentrate on GROWTH. Small, new clans need members that are in constant contact.

I could've started a clan if I did it early enough... ;P Instead I was drafted into J2F and it's turned me into a freak. Argh.
