1. Can we use MODs for our custom levels?

2. Won't it be a big JJ2 clone?

3. How will the animation Builder work (Actually: What is it?)

4. As I see in MW's interview, planning = in total +/- 75 % done, Coding +/- 45 %. Is that true?

5. Are there some enemy's done already?

That's it. About question 2, I'm just wondering, because all the screenies I've seen yet are looking like things who are associated with JJ2.

1. I believe they want you to use the directx sound format.

2. I don't think so. If it gets off the ground well it has a way better engine.

Fl@$h has a point, the screenshots do look similar. (Except the level editor one. :P)

The engine works totally different and is more flexible.

I like how it always links Fl@sh's name because of the @. http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Can I maybe get some answers to my other questions?

Hehe, my name is linkin... Anyway.

I don't think if it uses another engine it will be a very different game. Not so much ppl are interested in the engine, only ppl like our very own technical freak Frankie Quist http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif. It LOOKS like JJ2, and that's why it looks like JJ2. Huh? Yeah, that sounds strange, but the meaning of the first look is looking and... Grr. I can't explain it. Lemme take a break to think...

*takes a break to think*

I've taked a break to think and now I think I can explain it. Possum's "layout" looks like JJ2's "layout" and that's why it looks like a JJ2 clone. The engine is not something you can see (yeah, you can see program code, but you can't see the game then) so that doesn't really matter for the layout.

It has an entirely different set of features and is setup in a different way. That will become clear when you play the game. http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

JJ2 isn't a sonic clone. Sonic isn't a mario clone. http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Hey, here's an idea... If you can have Mods as music, can you do zipped mods too?

Possum isn't a jj2 clone.

There will not be any mod formats supported. MIDI, SGT, and MP3 are the music formats that will be available.

Hmph. While I am glad you have support for MP3 files, I always liked mods more. Sure there are ways to convert mods to mp3, but it can't be impossible to add support for mods and their likes to possum. As with MIDI files, I think that is great. Sure, they are not as high quality as other formats, but there are a lot of good midis out there. Although they sound like gameboy music without a good video card :P

If possum has support for modifications (which I am sure it will, as I hear it will be a GOOD game http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif ), somebody better make one that adds support for MODs. I just can't live without them.

Did I say video card? I meant sound card. *wishes phpBB wasn't so glitchy and would let me edit my posts*

You need to login first before you edit if you ain't login. It's a strange bug..

SGT is a MOD alternative. It works much the same way, but has several advantages. Search microsoft.com for DirectMusic Producer for more info.

MP3!!!!! Whoohoo! HAPPY DAYS! Uh-hmmm. Sorry. http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I usually download MP3s and test songs, and if I like them, I buy the single or the disc, and if I don't, I delete them.

But it'd be awesome to listen to my favorite music while playing, or even jokes, or whatever I want. MP3s are editable, you know. http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif

YaY, midi support http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif Though I've never even heard of SGT o_O

Hopefully there's a Mod>SGT converter?

Well, sort of... I haven't actually done this, but I'm pretty sure it's possible to convert this way:

Convert the MOD to a MIDI. Load the MIDI as a sequence track in a new SGT project, then reassign all the samples to the instruments. Compile to SGT.

It's more than likely that the DX8 API has a load of built-in functions for handling SGT files. MOD, on the other hand, would probably require a ton of extra programming, and MW no doubt has enough to do as it is.

Or am I wrong?

Don't talk about things that don't fit in my brain, MW. Just make MOD support build-in http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif
