View Full Version : Domain expiration
DrJones

The domain to this website will expire in March, if there is anyone interested in this domain remaining online, I'd like to see if an donation thingy can be arranged. The prices for renewal are as follows:
$29.99 for two years or, $34.99 for one year.
As for news and updates for this site. As soon as there'll be something to update with, an update will happen. If I can find some time, the gallery will be upgraded as well.
This post is also a news bit on the website.

I think he is talking about loricentral.com
That's too bad. :(
You could probably get good results using PayPal donations.

I assume they just want people to stay around longer. Is there a cost to discontinue services before the time is up?

If it's just the name you need to renew, I'd say go for a cheaper registrar.

Cheaper registrars aren't as secure as NetworkSolutions is. If I go to someone else, I'll risk a hijacking.

Not again...
And I'm still out of cash. :(

How aren't they as secure? You can lock domains at other registrars so that it can't get transfered without your permission.

True, still...putting together $29 is doable if enough people want to donate, and the problem will be solved for two years.
If some might wonder why I still keep the site around...I'm still somewhat hoping for things to pick up someday. And to some, the site is a valuable piece of JJ2 community.

Don't worry everyone, the site is not dead. I'm just moving it to a faster server, this will take a few weeks more since I'm busy with my university related things.
And, as soon as I figure out how, I'll put up one of those donate things by paypal. Once enough money is accummualated, the domain will be paid and all will be good.

Everybody donate! you don't want to this site to leave its current domain? If you don't have paypal and live in Europe there are other possibility's for donating! most banks in Europe do free transactions within europe (ask bank first)
you could even put some money in an envelope and post it if you want, (not advised though)

Depends on which domain name provider it is. I went with one that is slightly more expensive, but offers more options.
