Yeah, I know it's been a long while. I've sort of drifted off, never consciously thought I was leaving, just... checked here less and less. I am still as much in love with JJ2 as ever, I still have plans to finish my level pack Devan's Secret Weapon, which has some really kick-behind levels I am just DYING to show. Hopefully it will be done while there is still a community to appreciate it. ;) It is great to see that most of the rest of the community IS still here, though. That J2O v2.0 FINALLY came out. And people are still playing the last great platforming game.
For anyone interested, I can be contacted on AIM at ReptilianSamurai
At the time, I am most active in the Firefly community (for those that are unenlightened, Firefly is the short-lived Joss Whedon science fiction series. It is seriously worth checking out. And see the movie Serenity coming April 22 2005. For more information check out www.fireflyfans.net )
I don't really intend to get back into my old posting habits here *recalls the days that 40 posts a day was standard for me* ... but I will lurk and check here occassionally. Oh, any really great level releases lately... or in the past year or so? I'd like to check them out.
And... I've taken up enough of your time. Hopefully someone remembers me. :)

Uh...you have a pack called "Devan's Secret Weapon" too? Darn it...every title I've ever thought of has already been taken. Sorry.
Oh, and welcome back.

My Devan's Secret Weapon has been in the works for YEARS, I came up with the name shortly after first tinkering with JCS when the game came out. ;)
Anyway, I'm not really back, just saying hi, catching up with old friends, seeing how things are going around here. :)
I hope all is well, and JAZZ LIVES!!

Yes, it's good to see that new people are still discovering such a terrific game. (Can you even buy it anywhere anymore?)
Ok, at least a new person. ;)

Hi Disguise. Has anyone found out the meaning of SSF yet?It still remains a mystery to all ;)
Edit to WR: I don't think it's possible to merge posts, only threads. I could just copy/paste the info of the one into the other, but I'm too lazy to do that and it reallty doesn't matter all that much.

Yeah, but who the hell cares. Only those people obssesed with everything legal worry about that. As long as a game is five or more years older, then I would probably download it, and this game is 6 years old. Some games I might make an exception to, like Warcraft III, when it becomes five years old. I downloaded TSF, and JJ2 beta, a few months ago. JJ2 beta, is pretty cool. I so want JJ1 Beta.

Deriv: I'd like a JJ1 beta too, but the chances of getting one are virtually nil. The only reason we found a JJ2 one at all is because an early version of Jazz 2 was included with certain computers. Still, it'd be nice to play as a Jazz with sunglasses.

I thought he was blind, or was wearing a bandana over his eyes, lol. False advertising, on the order info screen it shows screenies of both the beta and normal version of JJ. Anyway, the beta seems like a little kid friendly version of Jazz1. If you think about it, JJ1 is about a 2/5 on the offensiveness scale or something, and JJ2 is a 1/5. And that beta looks like a little kiddy version because the Bee has an eye, not some black version of the Chronicles of Riddick type eye (I forgot what the first movie was called, never saw it, or I would have called the bee that), and the other baddies look childish like kids.
I don't think this post that makes much sense, as I was just rambling, but still umm, oh well.

No I'm talking about the way Jazz dies in Jazz1 compared to Jazz2. First of all, he turns into dust, in Jazz2 he blows up or something random. Besides, JJ1 has better graphics, I think, so and bigger resolution, so it looked more violent. And then compare the game over screen on JJ1 to JJ2. More violent in JJ1.

Bigger resolution as in bigger sprites? JJ1 has a *lower* resolution than JJ2 (320x240 versus 640x480) i.e. smaller screen. I do agree with the violence: it becomes more noticable within a smaller screen.
And hello AJ2F, if you ever get to read this :p

JJ2 was much more violent than JJ1. In JJ1, enemies would just disappear when destroyed, and occasionally you'd see the tiny explosion made by a bullet hitting a wall. In JJ2, enemies splinter into a thousand pieces which fly in every direction before eventually decomposing on the ground.
In JJ1, when you died, you'd crumble to dust, leaving your gun, which still maintained the ability to jump around and shoot at things. In JJ2, you actually suffer major injuries and fall to the ground dead, or explode with practically no remains in the case of Spaz. Especially in the early versions of JJ2, where the bodies wouldn't go away after you kill them, but just sat around being dead all the time.
And there is no possible way JJ1 could have better graphics. Everything in JJ2 is drawn well over a long period of time. JJ1 was essentially slapped together, and despite having the same graphical power for creating tilesets, came out with far inferior graphics.
...and he has blue goggles. Like Bucky'o'Hare.

Umm, if you think so, that everyone exploding and crumbling, is more violent, go ahead. I would still say JJ1 is more violent. JJ1, actually freaked me out sometimes I played it, because of the death sprites like in Keen 4-6. JJ2 never did.
