I don't like Pokemon because I'm just too old for it (I was a bit interested in it when I was 12 :p). This game, I think, will only attract the young gamers or really big Jazz/Pokemon fans.

I don't like the whole pokemon franchise, but as games, they are pretty neat. I would say one of the best for the Gameboy ever.

The odds are extremely low that any more official games would be made with the Jazz Jackrabbit 2 engine. They just wouldn't sell. I mean, everyone here would buy them, but that's about it.

Pokemon has ended its game series and TV series. They just translate all the JAP stuff to english. The only way we can know if its possible is if we see a jj2 pokemon edition in japan, then we would have to wait 3 years before a translation..

There is no chance.

3 years for a Platformer translation? Or any translation for that matter? Where have you been in the gaming world? The tides are changing much faster, sometimes we actualy get the gams before they're in Japan. And Chain of Memories, a semi-heavy storybased RPG was released at the end of october in japan, and we'll get dec.7 3 years indeed. And what do you mean by ended its game series?
<end rant>

Pokemon Yellow: 1994

US release: 1997-8

Maybe im wrong, maybe im right, or maybe I just have the least bit of intellect to know that there is no chance for a JJ2 Pokemon VER.

Poemon yellow-1994? what pot are you smoking?
Pokemon came out in japan in 1995.

I think Sharpedo would be perfect normal enemy and a end boss!

And Pidgey would be good normal enemy!

Well, I can go to USA and freakin' help them!

Its never going to happen. You can find a way to get the source code and make a mod for jj2 but thats it.

You're kind of forgetting the odds that this game would actually even be made by a real game company, don't even worry about the translation deal, because the game's not even going to be professionally made. ;o

And we will share ours if we want.

My opinion: extremely unlikely to happen. The Pokémon franchise has been done to death, and it just doesn't fit in the theme of JJ2. There's nothing to stop you creating Pokémon-style levels for JJ2 (and you probably won't be the first to do so), but that's about as far as it's likely to get unless you're planning to create JJ2 Pokémon Edition yourself.

Yes, no, maybe, and possibly, moreover, therefore, furthermore, yes, in addition to, no.

That's my answer, translate it!

On a more humorous note, this game will never be made because there has never been a "Jazz Jackrabbit 2: _____ Edition". Every time they wanted to use one of those names, it got changed.

I'm thoght about a game that uses the Jazz 2 engine about Pokemon. You're a Pokemon trainer, and instead of weapons you use different pokemon which you can select much like you select a gun in JJ2 when you hit space, you let the pokemon out to do battle with other pokemon that the trainer is helpless against fighting by himself. Instead of ammo your poemon have HP that depletes when attacked by enemies. Tokens of the pokemon can by collected by the player to recieve more health for a certain pokemon or 'capture' it if you didn't have it already. When you send out a pokemon, you control the pokemon yourself and can send it all across the level, however except in the case of a boss, you have to send the trainer to the end of the level to proceed. There also can some lvels where you have a challenge to only use such and such pokemon, or make sure the trainer doesn't get hurt once. The trainer can still be attacked by enemies even after a pokemon is sent out. Once the trainer dies you lose a life/get a gameover. If you run out of pokemon, you can recieve a low level pokemon to attack the enemies, but these low-level are typically weak. If you find the right stones, you can eveolve some pokemon and they get stronger (like a power-up) You only get so many low-level pokemon a level.

That actually sounds like a fair basis for a game. It would rely on agility a lot to keep your character alive, since you couldn't just fire weapons randomly.

Hey, if anyone is still here, the best program to use to make a game is Gamemaker. I think it's that, but it is a 2D game creation program an it is very useful.

Hey, if anyone is still here, the best program to use to make a game is Gamemaker. I think it's that, but it is a 2D game creation program an it is very useful.
Two (http://www.gamingw.net/games/370/?l=screens) contenders (http://forums.gamemaker.nl/index.php?showtopic=81417) for best Game Maker game, according to google.
Two (http://podiumgames.net/eternaldaughter/) contenders (http://tse.natomic.com/intro.asp) for best Multimedia Fusion games, according to the enormous MMF/Klik community.

Take your pick.
(Out of the four, I've only played Eternal Daughter. It's great. It has great lastability even without any way to modify it, and it's much harder than JJ2. Besides, there's this wonderful feeling as you gain more and more super powers throughout the game and then return to the start and beat up everything that used to give you trouble without even trying.)

However, Multimedia Fusion costs 100/300 dollars, depending on if you get the 'standard' or 'professional' edition, while GM costs 15$ to register, I believe.

I have an idea. We can:

-Burn this thread at the stake,
OR
-Have the game like this: Devan has come back (as if there was any other way to do this XP), and has lent his technology to Team Rocket in return for their servitude. Of course, you can expect Giovanni (Team Rocket leader) to pull a fast one on devan later...Jazz finds out about this and he and his siblings go to attack Devan, but he escapes to another galaxy. Jazz, Spaz, Lori and Eva (yes, she's a playable character! =D) follow him, but the entire system has been overrun by Devan's forces. Both the Pokémon Team Rocket stole and the planets' inhabitants have been changed into mutated slave monsters. To save the planets, our heroes have to find the ingrediants to reverse Devan's Mutation serum. There will be new moves, and you can free Pokémon from cages to have them assist you (like the Hip-Hops from JJ1). You can even transform into a Pokémon Anthro to do other stuff (like change into a water-type to swim underwater without worrying about air). It *MIGHT* be fun. Maybe.

Who brought up Game Maker and MMF anyway? Nobody here has the attention span to write something like this.

The only good thing that ever came from pokemon was the insane amount of money I made selling my cards two years after quitting.
