First, I hope Roaster is not going to nail me in. http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Second, you probably know I am (or more likely was) Blackman, the Web Team Leader.

Now, I made a promise back then, and I am going to keep it up, I left and I am back, and here to stay.

And I will purshace the Host, and maybe the domain as well.

Now, the site is NOT finished.

It will have a Stage 1 version on J2O, which will be small, and the meaning of this stage 1 version is to test funcionallity, and use as a main site until the Possum community grows a little bit bigger.

The Stage 2 version, will be the complete site, with its own Host, and Domain name, and full funcionallity as designed by F.quist, and the PhP Team, and the other web Design Team.

Also as planned, a few months ago I was searching for a good inexpensive host, I think I found one, thanks to F.Quist.

http://www.hostrocket.com

Host Rocker provides MUCH for just 9.95$ per much in the economy version. I will be able to EASILY purshace it, and it has some great feautres too.

Some features in the economy list:

-300MB

-12GB Bandwith perday (I think, I haven't really checked.)

-10 Subdomains

-PhP, Perl, Java allowed...

- Hmmmm, why don't you go there and find out yourselves instead of asking me? http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif

F.Quist is now officialy (and Unofficialy) the Co-Team Leader, he deserves that at least if not more than me, because he is working hard to make everything right, and I think he deserves that.

I'll fill you in with more details in the future and if I'm allowed.

Yep yep.

The site will be split up in a community part and a game info part. Creating the game info part is stage 1.

Stage 2, correct me if I'm wrong F.quist, will also be updated much more often, and include more Game Info in the Game info part than Stage 1. Well, if it will be updated more often so it's pretty much obvious...

The Primary Objective of Stage 1 is testing. (I do sound like some cheap RTS game. http://jazz2.nagcentral.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif)

Not really.. the primary objective of stage 1 is to provide content about the game.. imho. :P

Well, testing too.

We shouldn't release the site before the PhP works fine. I think the Game Info in Stage 1 should use those functions to test them.

If they work, the PhP team would be able to fit them into the final Design for Stage 2, and add some more as needed.

Hmm, any news, F.quist?

300MB might be a little cramped eventually if you put it freeware on the site and have a horde of user made levels not to mention images/code etc.

Is it upgradable?

[EDIT: Or maybe I'm just space hungry. ;P]

We're not putting it freeware on the site. :o3=

300MB is quite a small amount of space, I must agree. I have a feeling that the game is going to be sold online either through shareware or ordering and not being sold in stores, just because it is so hard to find a publisher willing to sell a 2D game. If it is going to be sold through shareware versions (I'm talking about the type where you have to purchace a number key to play properly), the game will be at least 90 megs ziped, unless it is disgustingly small. I also estimate that possum tilesets will be bigger than jazz2 ones because they are 24 bit, and the levels will probably be bigger because of the more powerufull (or so I hear) engine. In that case, I doubt that the 300 meg limit would last more than a year.

Hey, don't push it. :P

Now, the game is NOT freeware, so only a demo version (when available) would make it to the site, I assume a Demo version won't be more than 20 MB. (Come on, you expect movies, editors, billions of levels and tilesets in a DEMO? I think not.)

I will upgrade if needed, but I assume it will be needed after only 2 years or more.

Yes, 300 MB is plenty for our current needs.
