I'd normally post this in misc, but it actually has to do with JJ2.

I have been trying to play JJ2 online with the Alcatel SpeedTouch 510 series modem. This modem is sort of common in The Netherlands. Until now I didn't have any success but I thought someone might have managed to play JJ2 online with it. If you did, could you please contact me? Thanks in advance.

(and yes, ofcourse I tried port forwarding)

I have an Arris modem. I can't do anything to help you.

Did you try what I said in IRC yet? It's really a possibility you should check out, and it wouldn't hurt a bit if it failed.

No because I have no idea what you actually meant. It doesn't act like a router at all at the moment, it's just a modem.

What kind of Alcatel SpeedTouch 510?
ISDN, Analog, Multi-ports, single user?

I ordered exact the same modem in Belgium a few weeks ago to get my network to work, but it wouldn't work with my Dutch provider and I sent it back.

Yes, indeed. It's the Ethernet version.

Does your IP address (on your computer, not the modem) start with "10.", "172." or "192.168."? If so you'll need to open the ports on the modem. If it starts with something else, then check your firewall settings.

It's IP address is 10.0.0.138.

It's acting like a router then. You'll need to set up port forwarding, and if you have a firewall check the config on that too. Beyond that I can't help (tho you may find something useful in the firewall config on the router itself).

It does not contain a firewall and I already opened the appropriate ports. But thanks for your help anyway :)

Lol. Port forwarding seems always to be the first answer and always the wrong one. :p Why can't you buy a new modem?

Because this one works perfectly fine apart from the JJ2 thingy and new things usually cost money :P

I got an Alcatel but not that one, I can't host it times out quick. But it's been working lately... shrug.
