Umm, I proably forgot about this. But what is the difference between those? I forgot what a flame was anyway.

About the same, but there are differences. It doesn't matter because both are not allowed.

Flame tag: "People who post topics like this are cowards."/"I've heard a lot of people say that you're gay. Is this true?" That sort of stuff. There is nothing stated, just implied.

Personal attack: "You are a coward."/"You're gay."

To flame tag is to indirectly insult another person, unlike a straight personal attack. A flame tag indicates an offense without really pointing it out, I'd say that flame tagging can be far by worse than direct flaming.

"Why the heck would you start a topic asking about that?"

That could be a flame tag, leading to that you're stupid since you started a topic that I didn't like. Flame tagging can be hard to spot because it's all about how you read it. Most people mistake my text for flame tagging because they assume the worst of me.

A good example of a flame tag would be that, "I find that certain people have no humor at all." This is easily directed to the above who posted a poor fake edit. (No offense, of course. :P)

Hmm... I guess you shouldn't do it.

You can do it in another topic, just as long as you stay on-topic here.

And be polite about it, don't generalize against entire groups.

Please open another topic about this and stay on-topic (flame tags and personal attacks).

Ok...yeah, so what's your definition of them Quist?

Anyway, right, I didn't expect this to go into a discussion about the topic "Gay..."

People, please don't be so rude with your examples, try to use examples that no one on the board will be offended by or angry by.

Isn't this also about Shadow Tags? If you're wondering what Shadow tag really is, it's Wobbuffet's ability!
