I'm making a CTF level, and I heard that you need to put a mask around the level. Does this mask need to be any specific thickness? Right now, I just have it at one-tile thickness.

Thats thick enough. :)

It's thick enough, indeed. But with alot of lag the flag bug could still happen.

As far as I know, the best minimum size is about three or four tiles.

Now we have four as best minimum? gg

I usually put a thickness of one or two tiles in my levels.

Why just not make the thickness until you can't see the edge of the screen?

Anyway, you should mask the left side of the level because if someone is way on the left, you can't be shot.

Another thing, I am new to J2O but not JJ2. I don't know anything about the CTF Bug

I don't know anything about the CTF Bug

The CTF bug is when the message "Somebody captured the flag!" repeats over and over again during an online CTF game until the capturer is either roasted or scores. The bug is (usually) caused by levels without a masked border around the edges. I'm not sure why levels without borders cause the bug, but I'm sure someone more knowledgable than I in JJ2's programming will show up and explain it better than I could hope to.

I thought it had something to do with dying outside of the level when you had the flag and making the flag go away forever?

That's another flagbug. If you die at the opponent's base, you will capture the flag again.

Except what you posted isn't what Radium meant.

I said that that was another flagbug. The one I posted is one as well, but what Radium meant is also one. Another problem is, when someone joins the server, he/she sometimes immediately has the flag.

That is when there is no good start position, I guess. Basically you always start around 2.1 (X-Y)

5,-1, not 2,1.

To avoid death on flag, you could always put your bases in sucker tubes like in Zerox for creativity ;).

True, but it makes capturing the flag in laggy servers more frustrating. Then again, why would you be trying to play CTF in a laggy server?

Moving on, the flagbug thing Radium mentioned happens very rarely, but what he said makes sense even though I never could figure out why it happens.
