Pre-JJ2WC 1on1 CTF tournament II

After the first, successful 1on1 CTF tournament, many people asked me to start another one. However, the layout and the rules of this tourney are a bit different.


From now on, the layout of this tourney is "Double Elimination". You can read more about double elimination here (http://www.clanbase.com/column.php?nid=23). (Credit to ShadowGPW)
The new way of winning a match is "best of three maps".
Winning a map recieves you 1 point. (Possible scores: 2-0, 2-1)
Every map is played to 15 minutes.
In case both players win one map, a third map is played.
If the score is tied after 15 minutes, the players will keep playing untill one of them scores.
The third map will be always the map that wasn't chosen by the players.

Great. I was ok with the original mappool. Now I only like one of the levels in it (Swinging). Marsh is nice, but too big for duels imho, and BBLair is horribly overplayed (as it turns up in about every CTF tournament that has ever been organised) ;-P

I guess I'll keep the world going round and stay in, though allow me to send moderate amounts of hate @ people who never want to try some different levels.

You're a bit too eager with your contests, are you sure there will be people for everything if you've just kept a 1on1 tourney, and then on the next day you arrange a level-making contest, and another contest right after the last one? There were even only 4 entries in the level-making contest and I wouldn't say that's a lot.

Well, these slots at least seemed to fill up quickly because it's a 1on1 tourney, but is there any slots left or any possibility that I could have a qualify-match, so I could sign up? Ok, I know...I miss everything, and not even this one was my fault, but could you next time slow down a bit and not be so quick. I'm really disappointed if I couldn't even get up for this one because I didn't even get into your ctf-contest although I finished the level in time but didn't get it in public.

well anyway, the first round ended 10-2 (he said that one was a 3hk, but it was fake 3 >)).
He even managed to get a fair score once =D
All others were only about who had the best lag. (Except the two ones he did when I was typing >p) I got hit w/ seekers from behind when I run the other way, 7 times...
...anyway... I am thinking of choosing bbswing for round 2 intead of bblair =/

At last: Kind of GG so far I guess =/ It isnt snooze's fault that I had worse lag than him, nor that Ididnt know about the lower carrot.

Aren't you people reading the rules? You should play "best out of 3 maps", each map is limited to 15 minutes. The same map can't be played more than once, and in case both players win a round, a third map that wasn't chosen by the players is played.

(By the way, in case a map is tied, you should keep playing untill someone scores and wins the match)

If it was 2-2, we would have played until someone scored. If I recall correctly, I stopped to say "time" at 2-1, said "time", got roasted and you scored. In that order. (which is why I was a bit reluctant to host myself; apart from the lag thing, it wouldn't have hurt to have a neutral person timing ;-P)

Looks like Reps server hated Blacky. I got a bit of lag, but most of it seems to have crossed the Atlantic. Exact score was 6-2, 7-5

I duelled FS in Marsh (his choice), I got 3hk in the beggining but still leaded 4-2. At last FS won 5-4 because of bad luck. For some reason, I'm so unlucky against FS.

Then I was too disappointed, I lost my morale and lost 5-2 in BBLAIR.

Oh well, I'm going to face Enig and FS is going to face Skull.

As far as I can figure out, the winner of the Snooze-Rep duel will first face the loser of the FS-Skull duel. The player who wins that, will play the winner of FS-Skull, and will have to beat that winner two consecutive times to take the tournament. Failing at that, the winner of FS vs Skull will win the tournament.
