In the last day or so as soon as i open internet explorer (my default page is about:blank) i get a whole load of adware windows, and i open the crtl + alt+ del box and try and delete all, and when i do ALL of internet explorer shuts down and i didnt touch the main one.
I have McAfee vs 8.0, only virus scan, im not sure about a firewall and no hacker protection.
Im wondering if there is anyway to stop this as this is very annoying.
btw, when i was typing i had another adware bomb as well.

Download Spybot Search & Destroy, update it, and keep running it until it doesn't find anything (not counting the DSO exploit, that can be safely ignored).
If you don't have a firewall then download ZoneAlarm, keep it running and keep it up to date.

And switch to Firefox (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/) while you're at it :)

Does FireFox have a built-in PopUp blocker?
KILLERRABBIT, have you had any encounters with AT-Games lately? They are a MAJOR problem when it comes to Adware.

Also, when you close one IE window through Crtl+Alt+Del, it closes all instances of it. So, what happened with it all closing, was suppoused to happen.

MS AntiSpyware is good, but Spybot and AdAware detect more malware than it. And they're still capable of pulling out some pretty nasty malware.

I found MS Antispyware WAY better then Spybot in all cases, even after "Immunizing" w/ spybot whatever i just got rid of came back.
