Is there a way to record a demo of a game in Jazz2? You know, something like jazz2.exe -record demoname1 or something?

I'd very much like to record a bunch of games and then use FRAPS (www.fraps.com) to put into actual movie form (ie. AVI) and compile a nice entertaining video.

Recording a demo with some sort of in-game thing and then replaying would be best, since FRAPS slows everything down when recording and hence would make me lose in MP! :D

There's an article (http://www.jazz2online.com/J2Ov2/articles/view.php?articleID=36) I wrote quite a long time ago that explains how to make macros (demos). I don't think you can record them in multiplayer, but you could try doing stuff with the command line options. There's some additional information in comments posted by people.

JJ2 will cycle through .j2m files in its folder, so you can rename all of them except yours to get it to play. I don't think there's any way to directly start specific macros.

Great, thanks guys. Works *pretty* good. Have a few strange problems but I'll work them out.

Anyway, now this aroused some more questions. What are other "-" commands that can be put after Jazz2.exe? I heard that jazz2.exe -spaz makes spaz the default char and hence recording w/spaz will work! I know of -connect and -spy and -record. Any others? What are the known ones? I tried -? or just ? to see if it'll list them, but no.

You should ask Spotty as he recorded some long 3on3 matches.

The official demos lasts only a a limited amount of time. Does HJJ2 end the demo after a certain amount of time or does the author decide when it ends? Btw, some demos are pretty cool and worth watching. 8) My favourite is the jungle lvl where Jazz buttstomps monkeys till he dies.

For some reason I thought there was an article on J2O.
