Yeah, but if it would get back on it's legs it should be made completely from start. If anyone is still interested in such beat'em up game, I will need help. If I'll have to make everything alone, it will return to dust again. The following occupations are wanted:
-Sonic characters' sprites graphics
-background graphics
-explosion/blast fx graphics
-menu graphics
-music composers
-movement programmers
-physics programmers
-fx programmers
-and obviously testers :]
Currently the game is in TGF, but if somebody knows actual programming and wants to help, this can change. Anyway, the point is simple - I'm not gonna make JVS alone!

Why not? It's not that hard to make games by yourself many people do it and get quite good results, sounds like you just want someone else to do all the work for you...

I can be a tester.
Oh and what style are the sprites meant to be in, just any old sprites I could easily scrounge up from the Spriting community watering hole?

Maybe because I'm making also tons of other Jazz Jackrabbit good stuff, but this one is also mine idea and I think it is a good idea.
Also, I just got the Sonic sprite graphic - <a href="http://solidfilip.deviantart.com">SoLiDFilip</a>. A preview of his style can be found <a href="http://img108.exs.cx/img108/3306/test4ke.png">here</a>.

I could try to remix some Jazz and Sonic tunes. I can also program the movement since I'm good at TGF (I prefer MMF however, which I can convert it to if it's not too far into production) If I get the movement down right, I might be able to do the physics as well.

Like I said we're going pretty much back to zero. So nothing is too far.

I think you should make that game with WinMugen. This program is hard to use, but you can do it a lot of things with it, include great combo system, super attacks, etc... Tons of possiblities. If you interested in, I can give you a link for it, or links for mugen community forums... ;-)

I can try. BTW, welcome back TaZaR. Haven't seen you in long while.

I will beat you to it!

MUGEN is extremely unbalanced. I don't recommend it.

I'll just say these things:
The Jazz sprite up there is awesome. A couple billion times better than the old one.
But if you're going to make another person make the Sonic sprite, it will obviously look different. And nobody wants to completely adapt to a given style. That's too much like solving a math problem.. you don't get to be creative.
So, whatever you do, DO make the sprites yourself if you don't want the game to look like a patchwork carpet.

You're forgetting that every character can be made to conform to a certain standard set for the game, very different from the random conglomeration of characters downloaded from the internet that you're probably used to

Yeah, that's me. ;-)

Mugen is not unbalanced, the chars are unbalenced, if they are maded in different style.

Hehe, I've came back for bash, and I've visited the forum too. :-)
BTW, the new Jazz sprite looks great. :D
Here's another great mugen/sprite editing forum:
http://p067.ezboard.com/bwarmachinemadness
There are some ezboard ads, so it's need to have some pop-up blocker web browser. (Like firefox, netscape, etc.)

Maybe this is not the best forum. Some of the people are really critics here, and they're most interested to insult people, than helping them.
Here's another forum: forum.mgbr.net (http://forum.mgbr.net)
It's a great portugiese forum include international section. ;)

I'd like to help you guys with the game, but I don't know how to make 'em, so if you can help me with the starting techniques, plz tell me, and I'll do my best for you, especially for Jazz!!!

In mugen docs directory there are a lot of help, tutorials, faqs, etc.
I think you should make the sonic sprites from sonic battle sprites. Scaling 'em up (resizing, if you dunno what is scaling), fix the errors what resizing caused, change a bit on shading, to fit for jazz sprites, and it's done. :-) I think you should post your plans to MGBR, maybe somebody will help. Give it a try. ;)
Personally I can't say, I can help, I have already a lot of WIPs, and it takes a lot of time to work on them...
