Why is the Jazz Jackrabbit 3 Demo illegal? If it's a "demo" it should be legal right? :confused:

It's a Non-Public Beta, not a demo.

The game was never supposed to be released. None of us were supposed to have it. But somehow we stole it.

This 'Demo' was for internal use only. The developers needed to show the (possible) publishers what they had made so far, and this is what they used.

Public demos are rather different in that they're usually made when the game is either already complete, or nearly complete. JJ3 (as far as it seemed to me) was nowhere near completion.

Since the developers originally created the game (with Epic having various rights to it, I believe), they are the ones who could deside where and how this is legal to distribute. The developers could distribute the game to a few private individuals if they wanted, but nowhere do I believe those individuals got the rights to distribute it themselves.

The demo was given out to some people to test it. Some abused it and sended to everybody. Its still illegal to have it but nobody cares about it.

i dont think epic ever will bring out a jazz3d game.
but why need epic, i know about 3 fan based jazz3d games in progress.

I think if epic makes a jazz3d game it will be a lot better then the jazz fangames if you know what i mean.
