One of my friends had an illegal copy of Jazz2 (he didn't know it wasn't abandonware so don't not answer because of that) and when he discovered this he then asked his mum and she won him a legal copy off ebay. But now the setup thinks he has it installed and can't find the path to the unistall file so he can't get rid of it and reinstall it. He want's to nkow now how to remove it from the system registry so the computer thinks it's gone OR what the original path for it is so it can find it. Please help.
BTW this is the same friend who couldn't get a legal copy I asked about a while ago.

Well, it looks like that illegal OEM version has written an entry in the Windows registry. That's good, you can remove that entry then. Here's how:
- Go to the Start Menu, head to Configurations (third or fourth menu from the top) -> Control Panel
- In the Control Panel, double click on the "Software" icon to open the list of programs installed
- Look for "Jazz Jackrabbit 2" select it, then click the "Edit/Remove" button. This will activate Install Shield which will remove the program not only from the hard drive, but from the registry as well.
That's the standard procedure for any program that doesn't come with an uninstall option, but do write register keys.

P.S. no matter what others say, don't use "regedit" unless as a last resort.

The topic title makes it sound like you have no friends, or something :D

That didn't work, the autostartup still thinks it's installed and can't find the location of the uninstall programme
What about the location it would have installed into if it was legal?
