God bless him. Even (and maybe because of that) I don't like him.

Mr Ratzinger is the new pope, what a pope is you should know by yourself and a poll is the above thing where you can vote.

I don't care that much about that pope thing in general, but congrats to him.

EDIT:

Cooba posted while I was writing. Darned.

Meh, not really. He seems a bit too far on the conservative side imho. Seeing as how I'm not catholic, I don't really care what he'll do as long as it doesn't involve spreading ideas that induce hatred or make it more difficult to prevent HIV epidemics.

>O

I'm disappointed. I was so hoping the black guy would win! =D
I mean, think of it! Something would, like, HAPPEN! I have no idea, what, but think of the reactions! Especially your friendly catholic neo-nazi would've been soooo happy. ^o^
...
*sigh*
Pity.

You can't find 'Mr Ratzinger' in the dictionary. So that's a mistake.
I'm not too happy with the fact that Mr Ratzinger is the new pope. Can't explain why not.

The black dude becoming the new pope would've been cool, another strike against racism. So I agree with Faw, as usual (99% of times I agree with Fawriel. Weird.)

EDIT:

Fawriel should be the new pope. Hurray.

Too conservative.

An agnostic as the new pope? I'd be shot within two seconds after the coronation. ^^;

And Slay pretty much said all that had to be said.
The best thing about this pope is that he's already ages old. Mweheh.

A black female would be awesome.
Anyway, I don't expect him to be pontifex for longer than 5-10 years...

A black female would be awesome.
This makes so little sense out of context.

Supposedly people are calling him Pope Palpatine or something like that.

I concur.

Who here thought Fawriel's old avater was much better and cuter?

Maybe he's more conservative than others, but no matter what, I doubt there would be any really progressive popes. I personally am atheistic and I believe it's not the role of the church to help society progress, it's the role of the church (for religious people) to offer spiritual shelter, and I believe he will be able to do that well. Also I'm somewhat happy a German is pope.

Just the words of an atheist.

Who cares if one of the guys is black? That shouldn't change anything or make anything different. The fact that people are bringing it up as a talking point is kind of pathetic.

I'm not catholic and I don't care about the pope. Therefore I chose "no" because it answers the question correctly even though it infers displeasure, which I also do not have.

The black candidate was also ultra-conservative...why does him being black make him deserve it? That's just positive racism, I'm afraid.

I don't like the new Pope. He is too conservative.

Chiyu

No. I already disliked him, the moment I read a topic about him on a gay forum.
So you can guess; I'm not happy with him as pope, mainly because of his ideas on homosexuality.

Oh well, he's already 78, so I guess.... nah I won't finish this sentence ;).

A black, female, homosexual, blind, communistic, legless, armless, retarded pope would be so awesome.

Why...that's just genius enough to work!
Oh, and I don't have any real opinion of the new Pope, considering I don't have any idea who he is, beyond the name and nationality.
...I wonder how the Vatican hazes the new Pope.

Eh. I can just say that those were the words of someone who could care less about the Vatican and has no idea about any of the former candidates, either. Do you really think I would've just voted for him because of that if I had had any say in this matter?

And yes, I don't care about the papacy, but I do know a thing or two about the church.

I don't care who the new pope is as long as he does whatever a pope does and does it to a high standard.

The best leaders are war veterans.

We need a pope that's a war veteran, then he'd know what it's really like out in the world.

1. I was not being serious.
2. No, you misunderstood that. Read one of Fawriel's posts.

I don't know anything about the new pope apart from his bad sides, because the newspapers are good at that. Still, I'm not a Catholic, and hopefully there won't be another Christian crusade say, to my house. ;P I think that the pope knows what's best for his flock although I find it odd that the guys in the Vatican voted for the 'best' candidate rather than the one who would do the least harm.

Those of us here who are Catholics shouldn't judge this man for two reasons:

1) He's only been pope for about a day

2) It's not our place to.

General Turnbull says this new pope was part of the nazi youth and rarely speaks up at religious meeting thingies and tried to resigned as the popes right hand man (or something similer, he said this earlier today)
