What's better? I like 1.23 better, I think 1.24 is mostly a useless addon that should've been free or just the features should have just been implented into 1.23

I prefer playing 1.23 mostly because that's where all of the more experienced players are. But that's based on the communities and not the games themselves. Technically 1.24 is better, although it includes Lori. Then again, no one says I have to play as Lori. Therefore, I voted TSF.

TSF has another playable character, six new enemies, bigger tilesets, random bug fixes, higher episode support, and it may be better for saving in large levels or something. It's hard not to vote for it, technically-wise.
PLAYER-wise, I don't know, I don't feel like staying up until 5 AM to see some TSF players and figure out what they're like.

I've never played TSF.

What UR said. Or to summarize on a more personal note. . . Two words. "Lori" "Jackrabbit".

Depends. I hate the TSF levels, they're so boring. The original Episodes were much more enjoyable.

Technically, TSF is better though, and when downloading SP stuff I usually play with TSF.

TSF has six new enemies

Since when?

TSF wasn't much of an expansion pack, per se.

The game itself is better (TSF) mainly for all the points stated above. And, I don't mind Lori. So, TSF for me.

If you ask which one is better, it's TSF. If you ask which one is more played by "better" players, it's 1.23. Too bad some of us misread the question as my second version.

TSF because there's no reason why, if everyone had it, the whole community should be based on TSF only.

Like i said before...

1.23 multiplayer > 1.24 multiplayer
1.23 singleplayer < 1.24 singleplayer

Your choice depends on game mode tastes.

Why is TSF MP>1.23 MP? Assuming you don't mean the amount of players/good players playing 1.23 instead of TSF.

Nonono. I wrote 1.23 MP>TSF MP. So 1.23 MP is better. TSF SP is better. yes, I am certain I wrote that.

tsf, for all reasons stated above, the only thing that keeps 1.23 alive is the "l33t" players who think tsf is for noobs. sometimes i hate em so those "uberl33t" people... (mainly because they make "rules" and make fun of you if you dont keep by their standards... )

So maybe TSF is better, but 1.23 has more interesting players than 1.24, and the JCS for 1.23 is much better. A level made in 1.23 JCS can be played in both versions, and not vice-versa.

I agree with Violet. TSF has everything 1.23 has and more, just pretty much almost everyone playing it is european.

Single Player: TSF cuz it has new levels and features and fixes etc
Multi Player: 1.23 because people usually host these things called Levels, which have yet to be introduced to the 6 year olds of TSF.

Where did you hear this? For some time, I played MP in TSF only, until I realized how laggy 1.23 servers became with TSF players.

That would be due to the fact that TSF was never released in North America. Go figure. You can still get it online, in some rare places, or download it illegally. But, don't do the last thing.

Since when?
Xmas Lizard, Xmas Turtle, Xmas Float Lizard, Xmas Bilsy, Kitty Katt, Pacman Ghost?

LittleFreak

You can't really call the xmas dudes new enemies I think (they just look different), but I won't argue with you about that. :)

EDIT:

The Kitten (how I like to call it :P ) isn't really different either, and the Pacman Ghost acts like the Sparks enemy, with the difference that it has two hitpoints instead of one.

Contains Shareware Demo episode and two The Secret Files levels in the TSF episode (which is no way remade for the demo): Ghostly Antics and Turtle Town. Plus shareware multiplayer levels.

They may have the same behavior, but there was a great deal of repeating behaviors in JJ1, and those were still different enemies. It's not like there's much difference anyway between, say, Lizards, Tuf Turtles, Skeletons or Crabs.

Different hit points, size, animations and deaths. ;P

Marine1969

Yeah but you jsut don't touch them and pop their heads with a well placed shot.

There's not really a difference in the tactics you might use. If you were fighting a crack head with a baseball bat you'd use different tactics to a pickup truck full of crackheads.

Even if the tactics are the same, it's still good as long as it's actually good.

1.24 is just an upgrade

Like being member of RuneScape is upgrade of the free game.

blurredd
Apr 22, 2005, 03:10 PM
It's both an upgrade and a stand-alone game.

Marine1969
Apr 22, 2005, 03:36 PM
And since it's an upgrade why isn't there a link to download it.

Because it doesn't qualify as an upgrade perhaps? It's jsut an upgraded version, like a sequal using the same game engine. Like Doom and Doom 2

Ok, first off, have you not heard of the doom games? They're quite good and kinda kick started teh first person shooter gaming industry.

Also, the movie is lame, crap, and has nothing to do with the game it's based on. Unless they changed a lot since I last heard anything about it.
