There was an article in a parenting magazine, Bloopers In Your Child's Life.
One of the submissions was about a dad who took his son (who had trouble pronouncing consonants) to the movie theatre, and when he saw the popcorn he said to his father "Porn, porn!"

The question you should be asking is not "What's the point in not blocking the word porn?" but instead "What would be the point of blocking it?"
Now blocking actual porn I could see the reasoning behind...

# pornography: creative activity (writing or pictures or films etc.) of no literary or artistic value other than to stimulate sexual desire
# Pornography (from Greek πορνογραφια pornographia — literally writing about or drawings of harlots) is the representation of the human body or human sexual behaviour with the goal of sexual arousal, similar to, but (according to some) distinct from, erotica.
Looking at the defination, blocking the word itself does nothing. I can say OMG LOOK ITS PORN, and it would do nothing. In fact, shouldn't we block screenies of Jazz Jackrabbit? I believe the rabbits tend to be... NUDE. But, is that porn? In a sense, yes. But, we learn to live with the fact that the rabbits have no clothing, and leave the fact that they have no clothing behind. Then, if someone calls it porn, no one cares. We keep the word porn to laugh at all the immature people in the world. Besides, the word itself does not mean anything other than nude people in pictures, so it doesn't really have any offensive meaning to it.
Pokemon are porn too.

I think he is homosexual. It's just an assumption and theory that is NOT confirmed though. (:
And also Radium remind me of this:
Pop Corn
Cop Porn
Sonyk, the rabbits are kinda nude, but they got no organs which we publicly cover like when at the beach anyway.. heh.
Hahaha "pokemon are porn".

Nobody has really answered this, and the discussion has deviated. The thread will be closed unless discussion gets back on track.
The word is not blocked simply because it's not an offensive word. The point of the filter is to block words that many people find offensive. Actually posting pornography would not be allowed, but there is nothing wrong with mentioning it or talking about it as long as the discussion is kept fairly clean. Analogous would be blocking the word "murder" because murdering is illegal - which would obviously be ridiculous.
