QoB fever strikes back.

Credit goes to some TFer for writing the article and Frank for polishing it up so much that you can't look directly at it without getting blinded. :)

The proper name for the queen of Tsarist Russia is Tsarina. :p

I think I opened the second door. On my... 5th try?
I'm easily frustrated.

I always die in the red rock cave when you have to choose one out of sixteen paths. I still don't know which one to take, and playing the level from the beginning again every time got too frustrating.

Everyone who claims to have beaten it is either a liar or a cheater. The liars are the ones who played modifyed versions which removed the blind maze/made that guessing game less evil. It's only QoB if you play the original version.

The cheaters are the ones who just used cheats to pass the level, or looked at it in JCS as a sort of "map".

The fact that QoB has a ridiculous blind maze and a guessing game makes it a poor level by most standards. All it has going for it is that it is big. Even the puzzles don't amount to anything more than boring maze crawling.

I'm stuck in the red rock cave, but I forgot where.

I gave up playing it, the amnesia error annoys me too much.

..I once tried opening it in JCS to have a map.

...not much easier than playing it.

It's possible to beat QoB because those blind mazes and those warp things aren't particularly hard, just time-consuming. All you need is time...not much else. :p

I played this level many times, but i am still stuck at the Layer3 Maze, it just looks impossible! I also cheated with jjnowall sometimes..

Call me a cheater will you?

Yes, I finished it, the TSF version at least. The only help I had was endless patience, and a smal map I made of the blind maze. Just take some paper with squares, start the maze, and for each tile you can move you put a dot. Simple, yet effective.

INCORRECT.

I have beaten it without the layer 3 cheat.

Jelze has far too much free time. Or had. Not fair. :(

Is there any difference between the 1.23 and TSF version?

INCORRECT.

I have beaten it without the layer 3 cheat.

What's the layer 3 cheat? Surely you're not talking about removing layer 3?

My best guess: he means jjnowall.

White Rabbit
May 20, 2005, 11:58 AM
Even with jjnowall, you wouldn't actually know where to go. You can't remove layer 3 with low detail.

I couldn't open the last door :PThey're unopenable FYI, you must unlock three triggers in the layer 3 maze, and find a secret exit :7. I know that they're unopenable because they don't have Trigger Scenery on them =D.

LittleFreak
May 22, 2005, 11:05 AM
Those doors are just to fool cheaters. Those then think the exit is behind the gate, jjnowall through it and find themselves in an arena with two Bilsy bosses.

First of all, I didn't have internet back then. Secondly, I'd say there is no difference.

OK, since the Jazz 2 City account has expired, here's link to the Mystic Legends download page, scroll down to find Queen of Board:

I made it past door 3.
jjnowalled the caves of tzar and flew to the space teleporter, I even found the words Queen of B O A R D. I also found the freezer ammo and seeker ammo.

In other words: nothing special.
But the level was enjoying in some way, the music wasn't....

I always die in the red rock cave when you have to choose one out of sixteen paths. I still don't know which one to take, and playing the level from the beginning again every time got too frustrating.
I remember that, although I just lucked so much out that I got the right one at my first try.

Xobim

I found a way to survive the gamble: when you enter it, go down, at the next spilt-up go up, then down twice. If you did that right, the third door is opened.

To get to the secret warp, you first must find freezer ammo. Go past the pit that tells you not to go on unless you destroyed the Tzarin gem, to that staircase(?). On one of the right walls you'll find a secret. Go as far as you can and stomp the crate with freezer ammo.

The secret teleporter to the layer-3-maze can be found on coordinate 285,255. And again it's hidden; in a floor. With a bit luck you'll find it, shoot a few blocks and freeze the spring. Search on and you'll be warped to coordinate 174,37.

But, why do you get TNT ammo?

cooba
Jun 27, 2005, 02:14 AM
But, why do you get TNT ammo?To access the secret level maybe?

And the place you mentioned is where you must go after the gamble, I think.

The secret level is the next level, isn't it? You have to find the third super secret, and you don't need TNT, just walk veeeeery slow, cuz you might miss it and then you're trapped until death follows.

??????

BTW, That maze is 179 tiles wide and 119 high!
