I'm totally for filters....but for certain words...and that you can still use the word, but the filter will edit it....I'm going to make a list of every bad word, and comment the ones, that should be added to the filter....some of these words will never be used anyway

mother (-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-) [Change to "loose" filtering]
mother (-)(-)(-)(-)a [Change to "loose" filtering]
mutha (-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-) [Change to "loose" filtering]
mutha (-)(-)(-)(-)a [Change to "loose" filtering]
(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)
(-)(-)(-)(-)
(-)(-)(-)(-)
(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)
(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)
(-)(-)(-)(-)a [Change to "loose" filtering]
(-)(-)(-)(-)in [Change to "loose" filtering]
(-)(-)(-)(-)ing [Change to "loose" filtering]
(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)
(-)(-)(-)(-)stabber [Change to "loose" filtering]
(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)
(-)(-)(-)(-)face [Change to "loose" filtering]
(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)
(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)
hellhole

Remove from the filter
(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)willow [Doesn't need to be censored, because its a plant]
(-)(-)(-)(-)
(-)(-)(-)
(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)
(-) [Already removed from the filter]
-----------------------
This topic will be mad censored, and I might even get warned....oh well, I'm taking a risk here, and I'm bored...

These are just my personal suggesstions, if you really think this topic should get erased or closed, then I guess so....I might get mad flamed for this topic, or hailed, or both....

Derby: Filter bypass removal. One of the supposedly removed words was simply misspelled.

The topic is pretty much unreadable right now.. maybe it's a better idea for you to send this idea as an e-mail to admins so that it's actually readable, since filer bypassing isn't allowed.

This topic reminded me to fix the censor, also. Words are censored like (-) again now, instead of (-)(-)(-)(-).

I just thought it would make more sense to do this ****, or (pf)....maybe not the ('s thing...ok I'll this as an email, but I don't know your email address...

Explain to me how can I send you an email. Where is your email address? And you don't use MSN Messenger, or you did opt to show it...

I think that the first letter should stay and the rest become *'s because that way you can tell what word the person is trying to say.

Isn't that against the... point of a filter? I mean, if they wanted you to know what they had said, they wouldn't have a filter. And besides, you can probably already guess most by the context. If you can't, there's no real point in knowing because they are probably just cursing you out of context or something.

*(-)

Now I can't even correct spelling anymore. ;/

Well, if you censor all but the first letter (like (-)), then that way only people who a) know what words that could be and b) can work out which word it is from context will know what word it is.

(/). This is not the word you are looking for. Move along now.

Derby: Filter bypass removal. Let the filter do its work. Discussion provides no exception to the rule.

It makes more sense just to do this:
***
****
(mf)
(pw)

I checked my 'useful thread' and saw that the youngest member who posted was 12.
All of us here have heard those words before, and most of us are older teenagers. I think mild swearing should be allowed.

We're not little children that need supervision and monitoring so we dont lose our innocence. If anyone here has ever gone to public school, they would understand that mild swearing wouldn't be half as bad as what happens at school.

I'm modifying my list to represent changes in the system.

It would be a filter bypass if the sequence of symbols in question was designed to obscure a censored word. Would I have been modded for using a different first letter and posting something like "z***"?
