Que Passa!!!!

I've been practicing with Line Of Action and I desided to see if I know what I'm doing, so I made a birthday pic for myself.

The thing is, I'm not too keyed into line of action. Anyone have any suggestions?

Batty! I havn't seen you in a while. Then again we didn't ever really...talk much.

Anyway, I'm not quite sure what you mean by Line of Action. Are you referring to the very important and ever useful first step during construction where you draw a big line which represents the character's stace, posture, excetera?

Or perhaps, are you referring to the line that you use during fights and stuff like that which represents how the object is supposed to bend when struck?

edit : Happy whatever day.

Mostly the first one, but since I've been making some action poses, I guess the second one would be useful too.

The thing is, I usually draw as I act out(Meaning that I act out the poses most of my characters use before I draw them.) My problems are the things I can't physically do myself, or the ones that involve multiple people(Punching someone for example, or wild-takes.)

Ironically, my favourite part of the picture is Batty's motion, lunging, with his ears pulled back and all.

heh, interesting picture theme. At first glance the owl looked like it was sweating though (which could've added more feel to the picture, or something).

Happy Birthday!

Batty's pose is very good (though he seems to be holding the bat between two "fingers"), but you could add a lot more to the "unity" of the scene.

With punching in general, you have to treat the target like a ragdoll. For example, look at the fighting tutorial (http://polykarbon.com/tutorials/fighting/fight.htm) on Polykarbon. You've applied this concept to the bed thing in the middle, but it seems separated from the whole scene. To show the force of the hit (especially in cartoons), spread that force out a little.

Here is your scene now. I chose to just show the TV and the pinata. You can see the bat is swinging the bat (hah, irony) madly, but it doesn't seem strong enough to bash in a TV or cause someone to hide under a rug.

If we move a bit of that force outwards to the Pinata and TV (or even characters), the collision looks a lot more powerful (it should, anwyay. Ignore the sucky diagram).

On a side note, you didn't turn a year older in two hours. You were turning a year older for a whole year, you just finished recently.

Huh? I thank you for all the other info, but that last bit doesn't make sense to me...

I offically turned a year older around 12:40am on June 20th, as that was around the time of day I was born. After that, I was a year and(Insert how many hours, minutes and seconds it is from that time) older, and before that picture was posted I was a year minus(Insert time from the moment I submitted it and 12:40 am.) older.

I was referring to the process of turning a year older, which takes a year. It makes some sense if you think about it. If not, think less about it until it starts to make sense. Or something.
