Or if you havent realised that for about 6 months, Jazz 2 has been marked abandonware. You can look at some abandonware sites like:
(Warez)
[Edited out links to illegal warez sites and warez editions of Jazz Jackrabbit 2. Do not do this again. Abandonware is not a proper legal construct, and a game having been said to be abandonware by people does not make it legal to download the game - FQuist]

Freeware? No, not really.... I even expected to find a link for an official announcement from Epic or something like that here. *disappointed*

Being marked Abandonware has nothing to do with the actual legal status or freewareness of a program. The site you linked to is full of illegal downloads, so it should be no surprise to find JJ2 there as well. Abandonware is a fictional state of legality and is actually illegal to download.

May I also add that if a game is old, it doesn't automatically mean it's free because people (i.e. the producers) don't care about it anymore? Hence the name "Abandonware". It's only free if the producer has declared it freeware, giving up all selling rights of the game. Of course, knowing Epic that will never happen for the Jazz Jackrabbit series. If you want legally free games published by Epic Megagames, try One Must Fall 2097, Tyrian 2000, or ZZT.
Besides, the site you linked to has a seperate section for legally free games, and the Jazz Jackrabbit series (except the Holiday Hare episodes) are clearly not in it.
In short, it's still illegal to download any of the full Jazz Jackrabbit games, and some people still care about it. Would you like this site to be shut down because of illegal distributing of commercial software? Trust me, the US gouvernment can because we're so smal ;)
Now where's Derby when you need him?

Dalisene, you should read the FAQs of BOTH sites before posting. On the Underdog's site, they have written very clearly that abandonware is illegal. The only reason why they even dare to make commercial games free to download is because the publishers/developers can't bother to take action. The money spent for protection wouldn't be worth it for all those old games. More information about abandonware can also be found here: http://www.mobygames.com/featured_article/feature,7/

You can maybe find it <s>here</s>
I downloaded TTDX there, and I even saw JJ2..........
Link: URL removal. As FQuist stated in his edit of the first post, links to sites with such illegal content are not allowed. It might be okay to link to a specific page with the requested freeware game, but a link to a site with no illegal content would be preferable.

This thread will not serve any permitted purpose, and is therefore closed. See FQuist's edit message of the first post, as well as the FAQ at the top of this forum and countless other threads like this for more information about distributing JJ2.
