I'm looking at ebay for Jazz Jackrabbit stuff and I find this CD for JJ1 called "Jazz Trilogy." What is it? Is it the first three episodes, or is it just the first 3 shareware worlds? I'm very confused. Here is a link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7168788340&category=1248&ssPageName=WDVW&rd=1

I just read the FAQ and it just said it was JJ1. But is it episodes 1-6 or what?

I first saw it in 1995 and still have no idea, but you're welcome to buy it and solve a rather confusing mystery.

Well, I'm bidding on it right now.

Maybe it's the full game and both Holiday Hares?

<a href="http://www.allgame.com/cg/agg.dll?p=agg&SQL=GIH||||30955">This</a> is also an interesting.. "JJ-related" game.

The Jazz Trilogy is the Shareware episode of Jazz Jackrabbit 1.

Are you sure it's the shareware? Well that sucks cause I already bid on it.

Weird. Oh well, I'm struggling to obtain a good decent priced copy of "Marvel vs. Capcom 2"

I'm you see: "PreludeDX", then that's me.

Well I bought and paid for it so it should be here soon. I don't think it's just the shareware episodes, because why would they use a CD when they could fit it on a floppy? (My WIZ shareware version is.) I'm thinking it's just episodes 1-6.

I remember having heard somewhere that it's all three shareware versions. (Ep 1. and both Holiday Hares) My source may be inaccurate, but at least we'll all find out soon enough.

You're buying shareware now?
I don't think the guy's allowed to sell shareware in the first place.

Well, back in the Shareware days (i.e. mid-nineties) CD-ROM's with tons of Shareware games were sold everywhere. Also, if you wanted to "re-sell" Shareware, you can only make it as expensive as the medium it's on. For instance, if you had put tons of Shareware on a CD worth like $1, you could only charge $1, no room for profit is allowed.

Another reason I doubt it's shareware is because every other shareware cd I've seen has like 100 other games on it. This is stand alone, plus it says bonus free game offer inside on the sticker. I remeber that my full version cd of Fuzzy's Cosmic Space Golf came with that offer and I got the shareware version of Jazz with it.

Look at this! (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5780611052&category=40134&ssPageName=WD1V&rd=1)
It does not say "trilogy" anywhere on the Jazz CD, which by its booklet appears to be the same as mine. I think the "trilogy" part on the booklet is a mistake made by the cover designers, because while most shareware games are split into three parts, usually one free and the rest only for registered users, Jazz was split into two parts when it first came out (1-3 and 4-6). And the CD art is kind of elaborate for a shareware game. So I'm thinking either it's episodes 1-6 or most likely it's going to be the regular CD version with 1-6, and A, B, C, X, and Z.

I remember buying the shareware version at a Dollar store(stand alone, floppy disc). It said '1' on the side which led me to believe that the store may also sell the other episodes, on the back of the box were screenshots of the Beta version.

Is it possible to buy all the shareware versions, put them together, and get the retail version? :p

No, I tried that by adding the holiday hare version to an illegal version I got. Yes, I did delete the illegal version when I found out.

Well the mystery should be solved either tomorrow or the day after as the seller (who I just noticed was the same guy I bought my copy of Epic Pinball CD from) lives just about 220 miles from me.

I just found a picture of the back of the case here (http://doddsystems.com/images/jazz-jackrabbit2.jpg), and I'm almost positive that it's episodes 1-6 because it says 10 meg hard drive space required which is about what episodes 1-6 takes, although it may be the full CD version but that takes about 15 megs. I've pretty much ruled it out as being shareware though, also because the screenshots show episode 2, so I'm glad of that.

"non-violent" Since when does a gun constitute non-violence?

Since the enemies don't bleed, but shatter... ;)

Still it's a gun. And you shoot people. It should read "No gore!"
Since AFAIK shooting people is ab act of violence.

Does not hold a candle to the ultimate gaming classic, <a href="http://takegame.com/action/htm/jazzjackrabbit.htm">"Game Jazz Jack Rabbit"</a>.

Lol, that website is actually wrong. I downloaded the game. It's called "Ninja Rabbits II: The Buck Stops Here".

Edit: That CD is the version of the game that includes all nine episodes. It could be called a trilogy because it has all three of the three-episode packs.

Well it turns out that everyone was wrong, and I am very glad. It's actually just episodes 2, 3 and 4. I'm glad because I already had the full Jazz CD and Shareware, so I got something different, and even though I already had those episodes, I have a new installer to add to my collection. Every Epic Megagames CD has a special single-file dos installer on it that installs the game. The Jazz related installers are:

1: Jazz Jackrabbit: Episode 1 & Xmas
2: Jazz CD - Full Installation
3: Jazz Jackrabbit: ATI Setup Fix
and my new one...
4: Jazz Jackrabbit: Episodes 2, 3 and 4

So I'm glad I have another to add to my files.

It doesn't actually look like something that would have shareware games on it. To me it looks like a music cd, I know its not.

Now, if shareware games were illegal to sell that would make Playstatoin's Demo game discs appropriately dubbed as: "Jampack" illegal to sell, but their not. The price for one of these can go as high as a few dollars more than $0.99, its up to you if you would waste your money on it, I sure wouldn't.
