View Full Version : Idea I had

Well I have played Jazz Jackrabbit 1 and owned it on CD. I have never owned Jazz 2 so I don't know if it has this but I'm pretty sure it doesn't. Anyways my idea was to maybe make a version of Jazz thats similar to Maple Story. You can completely customize your rabbit with different faces and such. Make a Jazz game thats an MMORPG. As for the server I hate Pay to Play games. So for server costs a Cash or Item shop like MS has should be implimented so that the game stays free (with of course the exception of the initial charge to buy the game). I dunno just a thought. Maple Story is good but it would be cool to have more games out there like it as the game as great as it is gets boring after a while. And Pay to Playing is really stupid in my opinion when there are other ways for companies to cover server charges and make everyone happy.

A MMORPG seems cool, but JJR is more a fast-and-furious-running-around-and-shooting-everything-game. It won't fit in the JJR style.
I don't mean to kill your idea with this, I'd love it if someone would make an internet-JJr-game.
The idea seems a bit Runescape-like, am I right?

People sometimes try to make MMORPG's in JJ2 in the form of hotel levels, which haven't been in fashion lately. In any case, I've never really played any, so I can't deliver much of an opinion on the subject.

Actually, if you made it like Legend of Zelda MMORPH then it could work.

H?
Anyways, if people can find a way that the game Mercernaries works as a MMOAG, then we can find a way for JJ(NOT JJR sorry, thats a pet peeve of mine. His name isn't Jazz Jack Rabbit, It's Jazz Jackrabbit) to be one as well.
Note- MMOAG is a term refering to Massivly Multiplayer Online Action Game, which would work

If your seriously going to make a JJ2 MMORPG, then first get Realm Crafter. ( Google it ) It will be out soon but is a fully ready to go mmorpg maker with graphics support, open source code, script language guide ( uses Blitz Program Language ), the works. Then, get a good modeling program like 3Ds Max or Alias Maya 6.5. I purchased Alias Maya 6.5 Unlimited ( 4000$ ) and Im already able to make a Human with RABBIT EARS. :-)
Now, since Epic won't let go of the name to JazzJackrabbit, it will need to be a FREE FAN GAME, so no profit can come from making a 3D imitation of JJ2 in any gameplay form. I know, your thinking why bother?
Other then all of the complications, this sounds like a good idea... but Maple Story is sort of.. weak. But hey that's just my opinion.

Well, the first thing what Jazz needs is a 3D platformer sequel with much functions to edit it like in Jazz2. If that becomes a great succes then an MMORPG would be a great idea.

Since we don't have teh sourcecode, that's going to take looooooooong and many programmers.
So I think that we should skip that idea and use that Realm Crafter program to make a MMORPG. And use that sourcecode (which should be easier to create) for a 3D-JJ2 based game.

He's talking about building a game from scratch, which is possible. We don't need the source code if we're making a new game.

Yeah. Making a new game would take less time than trying to get the right to distrubute the Jazz3D demo stuff..

You meant the thread about new game cheats by that?

No, the idea of making a sourcecode with Realm Crafter. And using it in a new JJ game...
I don't think that anybody would ever start on that idea, even if it would be possible. It takes far too much time to make a whole sourcecode with a program.
