Please don't tell me you've downloaded the game off the net...

If so, you've got an early version (OEM version 1.00g) which is not compatible with the patches available. The retail version has the number 1.20, that's the minimum the patches will accept. Just buy the game as it's still illegal to download it off the net. "Abandonware" is not freeware, it's just a term for games unsupported by their creators, who still hold the right to sell them should they feel like it.

It's a good habit to explain what you did before you had the problem. We can't exactly look over you shoulder you know? ;)

Anyway, in order to apply the 1.23-patch (there are two versions: the full version and the shareware demo patch, denoted with an "s". I hope you have the first one) just double-click it from Windows Explorer. The program will do the rest.

This patch (http://www.jazz2online.com/J2Ov2/downloads/info.php?levelID=572) is the one you need. The one you have now is possibly the wrong one. Just download and run it.
