After a fortnight during which djWHEAT was busy with Newegg and QuakeCon, Epileptic Gaming comes back on air with its eighty-first installment. To make up for all the lost EG hours, the producers at the Epileptic Gaming HQ have set up an interview for the long time fans and listeners of EG.

On Friday, August 19th @ 8pm EST, Epic Golden Child and Video Game Bad Boy, Cliffy B, will be joining djWHEAT for an exclusive interview about UT2k7, Gears of Wars, and general gaming questions we've all wanted to know the answers to. This LIVE interview will air during EG, and you are welcome to leave your questions for Cliffy regarding any of the topics above in this forum thread (http://www.radioitg.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1383).

Mark your calendars for 8/19 @ 8pm EST. Epileptic Gaming makes a huge comeback with the one and only, Cliffy B.

PS. A global hint to the scene, bring up some Jazz Jackrabbit questions!

The part you said that I could understand sounds cool.

I submitted the question "Will we ever get Jazz Jackrabbit 3?"

I hope that many more people do it, so that they actually ask the question to him. ;p

Ok. I was wondering where you were going to mention the part about the only thing I cared about, JJ in general. I see that it was self implied. Is this going to be a live tihng on the web, if it is, what's the link?

My questions were:
*Will Jazz Jackrabbit 3d ever be released?
*Is work in Progress on it?
*Have you ever visited http://www.jazz2online.com , http://www.jazz2online.com/jcf, or http://www.jazz2city.com ?
*Could you explain why Jazz Jackrabbit 3d was orginally cancelled for those who don't pay attention?
*Is there any way a legal demo, freeware, or shareware would ever be released of Jazz Jackrabbit 3d to drum up fan support and see what kind of market it has?
*Is the Jazz Jackrabbit series ever going to see a new release again, if not Jazz Jackrabbit 3d?

EDIT: Also, could someone either record it or tell me what dude says? I don't have time to listen to the radio I would if it was on tv, but eh.

I like how we just keep repeating the same questions. Yes, CliffyB is fully aware of the JJ2 community, and he has visited J2O, JCF, #JJ2, etc., on past occasions. We also have a FAQ site dealing with why the original JJ3 was not released.

I know all that I want to hear it from his own admittance ;)

If he loves JJ2 so much and knows about the community, why doesn't he visit the JCF from time to time? He can't be that busy. =l

He knows he is so popular we will all jump on him like rabid dogs and not let him go till we are finished, which is never. :(

Have you ever asked him about the source code, Shad?

Too bad nobody asked that obvious question. We really need some community coordination. What about a team that collects and lists all developer correspondence and tries to make progress using cooperatively drafted e-mails, sent through people that have contact with the developers?

The show is up. I don't have the strange technology to record everything, but so far it sounds good. They have received our questions, been surprised by our existence, and will be asking CliffyB about Jazz and stuff. They will also be spending a lot of time on some game called "Gears of War" and stuff, but we should get our time in the hour they have him. Go listen.
(I write this while they play Zelda music. ;))

DJ Wheat is recording. I've asked him again specifically about the source. Exact question: "Would Epic Games ever agree to releasing the Jazz Jackrabbit 2 source code?". I mentioned the jj2 coding crew already said they'd like it to be released.

They've done with the Jazz part, and I'm assuming it won't be returned to in the next half hour or so. Here's a summary of what was said:

- CliffyB gets an e-mail every two weeks asking where the JJ2 source code is. <b>He does not know where it is.</b> He will ask Arjan about it the next time they see each other, but in the meantime, there is really no point in emailing Cliffy for the source code.
- That said, he does not know if the source code will be released. His answer was "Maybe".
- Going into his pitch a little more, instead of describing Jazz as a super-uber-pimp, he's more like Batman. He has a dayjob and a night job fighting crime in the capital city of Carrotus (name not given).
- About a year and a half ago CliffyB went to Hollywood with this idea trying to get a TV show made out of Jazz to strike up some interest before they actually made the next game. He found a producer and stuff, but then interest eventually fizzled for some reason not given. He didn't say anything about future attempts.
- Apparently Jazz looks like a Warner Brothers character (Animaniacs?) - this really has nothing to do with anything but I thought I'd mention it anyway.
- DJ Wheat gave a big plug to www.jazz2online.com, praising the community, the stuff we have for download, the online servers and stuff. Apparently he even got online and played a few games, no idea what name he used.

I loved how he mentioned he didn't know where the source code was. "It could be burried with Jimmy Hoffa somewhere..."

Good question.

How can I listen to this? I apparently don't have the program needed to run the .pls file.

Who is Blackhattery. How does he keep posting? Is he banned, is he a guest? Is what he is saying, so wrong?

Lol, I notice all the time companies releasing the source code of their software, along with the program to download, like emulators, its crazy.

Just send me and e-mail (sk8terboyjj2@gmail.com) telling which one ya want and ill send it. You can also get it from me on MSN using the same email, or AIM by adding sk8terboyjj2.

The small bits about J2O that appeared (so I heard) later on were not included in the jj2 only file it seems.

I've got that flash movie Cliffy is mentioning on my HDD. =P
n00b is right, the disclaimer thing is priceless. And the fact that Epic wanted to make a TV show before a new Jazz game proves again that they take a whole bunch of ideas from Sonic games.

Skeven
Aug 21, 2005, 06:14 AM
Tubz what the hell are you talking about?

Oh and the flash movie he was talking about can be found on newgrounds.
But it has alot of cursing... have you seen "Another Bunny Again"?

This is a rather bad reason for a topic revival, but Jazz looks like a Warner character. Not one specifically, but in the art style of WB. At least he does in Nick's drawings, you tell right off the bat by the eyes.
