View Full Version : Well, lets make a Jazz2 1.25! What are we waiting for?

I havent seen anyone with this idea on the board (if you have, then plz say so, cuz otherwise this will become a very unliked thread...) so I think its time to make a Jazz2 version 2...!!
How primitive can we be? We play a stupid (sorry, I like JJ2 too...) bunny game and have a forum with over 2000 members... we cant even find a way to find this stupid game a stupid game! And while we are thinking primitive, we didnt tought about this:
We all want a new version, eh? We all want to have those annoying bugs fixed, eh? We all want to implement cool user-tought gametypes, eh? We all want a costumizable episode list, eh? We dont get the source code, eh? The only thing we need to do is to BUILD A NEW GAME, that works more or less the same as JJ2. For that, we need a handy guy who can make a sidescroller. The sprites can be ripped out using the Sprite Ripper (that might turn out to a little time problem...) and we can get all the sounds using the Ambient Sound event (I think?), so now we only need a programmer here. It must be possible some way. (It is, we started:lol:;)8D)
On another thread (http://www.jazz2online.com/jcf/showthread.php?t=12169) (about a Jazz3D fangame) there is a great new weapon system introduced. I made a 2D version of that weapon system to use in versoin 2, I find it much better than the old, boring JJ1 weapon system. I dont think it will be in JJ2, but it is a very funny weapon system to keep us dreamin' anyways! (You can find it somewhere at page 2 (in 40 messages view))

For the millionth time, WE NEED THE SOURCE. WE DO NOT HAVE THE SOURCE.
Without the source, there's nothing we can do. And building a new game would take years of time we don't have. It's getting the source or keeping what we have now. And, unless you can program, getting a group of people would be hard.

I know we dont have the source and I know too that it is hard to find people that can and want to make this, and of cource it takes time to build a game:P It is just a suggestion, and I decided to post it after a week of thinking IF I should post it... and I did becouse I think this might turn out to something better after a while, and maybe after a few years we have a Jazz2 2! (or at least in progress, if we started building).
So, just for your information: if you like this idea, then help to make it!
If you dont, please keep in mind that others may DO like it and if we find enough people that DO like it, we can allways start building:P

I think we should just remake it from scratch. The hardest parts of making a game are designing the gameplay, recording sounds, and drawing animations, and we already have that done. A single ambitious programmer could make 1.25 given enough time and motivation.

See, that's the problem right there. Unless you are capable of programming and can give somone a nudge, you're not going to get any results. Show us that it can be done by starting something, and we will answer.

Wait, you say that game maker 6 can make big stuff like JJ2? As far as i know, it doesnt even support Tileset support. One of the most important things in al level...

Oh <i>please</i>. I said it already, this idea has been brought up HUNDREDS of times, and nothing ever happened or went far.
And the other replies in the thread say it already, nobody here has the time, ambition, skills, etc. The only project that really seems to be going anywhere and seems promising is Baggers' JJ3D, and I think he does it as a school project.

And yep, it sure looks like this is one of the best ideas, but one of the hardest to make... and I dont like that, bcouse if we all do what we can do, we can build this with just helping each other... and that means we help the community with a new game (version) and the ability to put in all those very nice ideas of others around here. I just dont believe you if you say you find this a bad idea or if you say you dont know something you would like to see in JJ2.
Also, for you guys who think: why should we make another sidescroller if we can make a 3D version? Well, becouse Jazz Jackrabbit used to be a sidescroller. And with all those great modifications put in, it can be almost as fun as a 3D version!

You have to turn on advanced settings in gamemaker 6 and then you can have tilesets.

not a too bad idea. I've read the bonus level sprites thread. Looks pretty cool. Not a bad idea at all. And we can implement 3D bonus levels in JJ2 1.25 if we are started builinding it:P

thats the point, next to Baggers i dont know anyone who can realy program here on this forum. So i asked McDougal on the Planet Quake forums to help me with Razz Arena.
you must look for a programmer outside of the community. but we can use the comunity to find someone.

i know i know, but look at the resulting games... most of them wont even see daylight, i am not saying there are no programmers here, but if we want to create a game like jazz2 we will need help from real good programmers, maybe we have those on the forum here but its more likely to find them on a programmers forum

We dont need to find real good programmers, since we probrally already have some.
What we need is a programmer who doesn't have a thing called Real Life to get in the way.

Windowed mode interface... you mean like menus on the top of the screen? That's kind of elementary.
To nit-pick, recreating JJ2 in another .exe file would not be 1.25 so much as 2.##, as it would be a second edition of the whole, not a small update of some minor parts.

Of course (to stay primitive...) menus are primitive. But with permission and help of some of those great tool-makers, we might implement things such as Project Cataclysm or Controller. We can solve the Seeker Holes problem inside the game and make CTF color names automatically, just as Project Gamma does. So a menu for 'Tools' containing the functions of Cataclysm, Controller (and maybe death controller would be handy too) might be a nice step. We might implement these another way, but first tell me if you like that idea. And when you told me that, then tell me that you can make it:) That would be a nice first step. At the main time, I can start learning myself some programming.

@monolith: ehm. I am NOT going to pay you for this...
@unknown rabbit: sure. But I think we need to have source code for that. But there's no problem converting the tilesets to a new format:) Just screenshot them, put them in Paint and give them a palette with TilesetPal! Masks are done fast too. And Levels.... lets make our own. We might MIGHT make some sort of converter for that. If we can. And want. And need. And are done with the JJ2 rebuild.

Jerry, that is way to time consuming. It's much easier to program something that can read .j2l and .j2t.
I'd pay Monolith, we might get something done, we could set up a donation service of some sort.

Little question:
In game maker 6, it is possible to make your own load bar. the point is: when the project will be started in Game maker, do we need a source code (of our own project...) too if we want to edit it after making the load bar with it? It would be a nice and easy first step, but if we cant get a source code from game maker of our own game, then this doesnt look like a good idea.
If it is really easy to make .j2t and .j2l support, then we, of course, are not gonna make a new format:). Also, if thats easy, then I think .it, .s3m and .xm will be no problem too.

Money Motivates.
When you pay someone, you get alot better work than when you don't.
I am in favor of paying someone to create a whole new engine from scratch, to reprogram the enemies,items,characters,weapons and gameplay of JJ2, to recreate a multiplayer mode, and to create a level editor that can use .j2l and .j2t files.
Theres also a less chance of the project dieing.
EDIT- And if you don't need money to program, why the heck do we still have to pay for video games?

GM 6 sucks when it comes to having online programs, it would more than likely be very laggy.
Since most of the community plays online, it is best to ditch GM 6.

Heh, I'm not really expecting anyone to pay me to do this. :P I'm not sure I could do that legally anyway. I do have the abilities to make a similar engine as JJ2, however I lack time because I have several other projects I'd like to be working on, and I lack money because I don't have a source of income right now.

The new weapon system - part 1.
---| 0. Intro |--------
The weapons are a little bit tricky: you have 9 maintypes of ammo (as in 1.23), but you have some different weapons to shoot ammo. Different weapons support different ammo. With the Character's basic blaster, the interface update will make it possible to shoot more types of ammo. You CAN get ammo that cant be shot out, for if you find a weapon that CAN shoot it out. Each maintype has some upgrades for weapons.
---| 1. Blaster |--------
Weapons
a) LFG-2000 (Jazz's basic).- Shoots light energy shots, which don't do much damage, but since the energy is drained from the environment into the gun's battery, the ammo is pretty much infinite. If you shoot fast enough you might use up energy faster than it recharges, but in such occasion hide for a moment or switch the weapon to let it recharge. You can also hold down the shoot key to charge a more powerful shot, but it'll take more energy (only with blaster shots, not with other ammo).
b) LFG-3000 (Spaz's basic).- The difference from LFG-2000 is that it shoots faster (only with blaster shots, not with other ammo), but the shots are less accurate. The battery is a bit stronger, so even with this fast shooting energy will run out with the same speed as in LFG-2000.
c) LFG-1500 (Lori's basic).- The difference from LFG-2000 is that it shoots energy bullets in a shape of a disc - they deal more damage, but use up the battery faster.
d) LFG-4000....(Pickup)....- Shoots three energy bullets at once - has thrice stronger battery than LFG-2000, so battery drains with same speed.
e) LFG-5000....(Pickup)....- Shoots an energy ball that spreads into 5 typical blaster shots on impact - has only twice stronger battery than LFG-2000, so needs to recharge pretty much.
Ammo
f) Blaster shot............- Standard shot. Damage: 1 (2 with Interface update).
Upgrades
g) Extra battery...........- Can be connected to character's basic blaster, lets you shoot longer before you'll need to stop for recharging.
h) Accumulator.............- Can be connected to character's basic blaster, increases damage dealt by shots but also uses up batteries faster. Basically more power -> bigger need for batteries, so hunt them down with same effort.
i) Interface update........- Can be connected to character's basic blaster, lets you use 2nd level ammo (powered-up ones from 1.23) in the blaster.
---| 2. Bouncer |--------
Weapons
a) Basic Blaster..- Supports blue bouncy bullets, and purple bouncy bullets if you got the Interface update.
b) BBT-21.........- Supports blue and purple bouncy bullets, shoots them with big speed, but the rest is like blaster.
c) BBT-3:1........- Supports blue, purple and black bouncy ammo, shoots three bullets at once in different, random angles.
d) BBT-S15X.......- Supports blue and purple bouncy bullets, shoots with great power, so the bullets either fly very far or bounce off walls very aggresively.
Ammo
e) Blue bullets...- Damage: 1, bouncy: 1.
f) Purple bullets.- Damage: 2, bouncy: 2.
g) Black bullets..- Damage: 3, bouncy: 3.
Upgrades
h) Visor..........- Compatible with BBT-S15X, lets you zoom the vision for sniping far positioned enemies. Sort of targeting for far positioned enemies.
---| 3. Freezer |--------
Weapons
a) Basic Blaster.........- Supports ice cubes, and N charged cubes (2nd level) if you got the Interface update. Needs to reload after each shot (temperature precautions), freezes enemies and you can crash them into pieces with a shot or hit (1.23 feature). You can also shoot the ground (by ducking) to make it slippy (for you too!).
b) Frostbiter N-11.......- Supports normal and N charged cubes, needs to reload after each 5 shots, you can charge up your shot to freeze the enemy for longer (feature borrowed from Metroid games).
c) Frosteater N12U08.....- Supports normal, N charged and U charged cubes, no need to reload.
d) Frostswallower N15U10.- Supports normal, N charged and U charged cubes, shoots 5 cubes at once. Charged shot takes up to whooping 50 cubes, becouse the 5 cubes will explode into 10 new ones, when hitting a wall.
Ammo
e) Ice cubes.............- Time: 1, doesn't work on certain enemies (heat-based?).
f) N charged ice cubes...- Time: 3, can even shortly freeze most resisant enemies.
g) U charged ice cubes...- Time: 2, deal small damage to frozen enemies.
Upgrades
h) T-Amplifier...........- You need a Frost-series weapon to use it. With it turned on, you slowly lose ice cubes, but your gun emanates with frost, freezing enemies that are close enough. Be careful, using it for too long will freeze you too!
---| 4. Seeker |--------
Weapons
a) Basic Blaster.........- Supports red-white heat-seeking rockets (blue-orange also if you have the Interface update). Normally, just shoots the rocket straight forward. When you shoot it out, it will first just go straight (very slow). Then it locks at a heat spot (enemies, but you may accidently lock on fire or stuff like that) for two seconds to lock on, and then the rocket will slighty seek the object's movement. After 3 seconds, it'll explode.
b) HSRL-1 "Seeker".......- Supports red-white and blue-orange rockets. Has a better detection system, which means it won't lock on most environmental heat signs. The lock-on time is still 2 seconds, but rockets hunt down targets in a better manner.
c) HSRL-2 "Hunter".......- Supports red-white and blue-orange rockets. Hardly improved system decreases the lock-on time to 1 second and does not lock on lifeless objects, but that also means it LOST the ability to seek machines. Rockets now hunt enemies down very aggresively, so they'll need to hide behind a wall or something to don't get hit. And they better do that FAST.
d) SeeKannon XP4.........- Supports red-white, blue-orange and green-brown rockets. This is certainly a heavy weapon - it'll slow you down and make your jumps lower. However, it's size is mostly a system of advanced seeking devices, and that means immediate lock-on, no problems with environmental heat or finding robots.
e) SeeKrazy PTF..........- Supports only green-brown rockets. Immediately locks on enemies. Then the gun communicates with the rocket and it takes the aim. It's advantage is that it doesn't slow you down and still has the same intelligence features as SeeKannon XP4.
f) Rocket Pilot v3.01....- This small toy is compatible only with special black rockets. Once the rocket is shot, camera takes it's point of view and you can steer it. At any point (for example if your character is being attacked) you can push the shoot key and you'll lose control over the rocket, but will be able to move again. The rocket will work as a blue-orange one, but will still last 8 seconds.
Ammo
g) Red-white rockets.....- Damage: 1. Seeking time: 3 secs.
h) Blue-orange rockets...- Damage: 2, can avoid small objects less then 3 tiles heigh. Seeking time: 3 secs.
i) Geen-brown rockets....- Damage: 2, is covered in strong metal so they can bounce off objects for 3 times. Seeking time: 5 secs.
j) Black rockets.........- Damage: 2. Rare rockets that are the only ones working with Rocket Pilot v3.1. It's ability is worth finding them. Seeking time: 8 secs.
---| 5. RF-missle |--------
Weapons
a) Basic Blaster......- Supports green rockets (and red with Interface update). Fires a single rocket at speed 1, but can shoot two if you hold down the shoot key for longer. That will count -2 on your ammo counter.
b) RF-missle Launcher.- Supports green and red rockets. Fires a single rocket at speed 2, but can shoot up to three rockets if you hold down the shoot key for longer. That will count up to -3 on your ammo counter.
c) T-B RF-RL..........- Supports green and red rockets. Fires three rockets at once with speed 2. Quite a heavy beast, it'll slow you down and make your jumps lower. That will count -1 on your ammo counter.
d) RapidRF............- Taken straight out of Bolly's left-overs, supports green and pink rockets. Shoots them at speed 3. But if you shoot too much it'll overheat and you'll need to wait until it cools off.
e) Sticky Launcher....- Supports red and pink rockets. Fires 2 red rockets and 1 pink rocket at once with speed 2, but they are sticked to each other, meaning they can hit only one target and deal massive damage to it.
Ammo
f) Green RF rockets...- Damage: 1, explosion radius: 1.
g) Red RF rockets.....- Damage: 2, explosion radius: 2.
h) Pink RF rockets....- Damage: 3, explosion radius: 1.
Note 1.............- The explosions should also hurt you, if you are too close.
Note 2.............- If you shoot only one rocket, it will lose heigt pretty fast at speed 1 and less fast at speed 2. At speed 3, it will not lose any height.
Tools
i) RF Turret IP312....- You can have up to 3 Turrets running at the same time and you can own not more than 5. When it is empty, it becomes available for other players. Set it somewhere and give it up to 20 of your rockets (supports green only). It will shoot out one rocket in a preset direction when someone comes near it. Good for securing tunnel exits or any other places that are certain to cross by enemies.

---| 6. Toaster |--------
Weapons
a) Basic Blaster..- Supports red flames (and blue flames if you have the Interface update).
b) Toaster X6.....- Supports red and blue flames, but can also shoot the flames Jazz 1 styled if a Shareware disc is found. Shoots faster, but more speed is faster running out of ammo!
c) Burniator......- Supports red, blue and white flames. 'Sprays' them farther and with the speed of the Toaster X6.
Ammo
d) Red ammo.......- Damage: 1.
e) Blue ammo......- Damage: 2, also turns walls black (charred) if they are hit by this weapon.
f) White ammo.....- Damage: 3. Is very hot and some must be left behind (you lose a peice of ammo every once in a while) so the gun doesn't overheat. If used with the Back-up disc, this ammo fires three-way, and slightly grows the farther it goes. This growth adds no extra damage, but attracts nearby 'lesser' enemies to it.
g) Jazz1 ammo.....- Damage: 2. Fires a big 2-tile high flame that can kill enemies; it doesnt stop at the first one, but when the first enemy is stronger than 2 hearts, it will stop.
Upgrades
h) Shareware Disc.- This old copy of Jazz Jackrabbit can be used with the Toaster X6 to add compatibility with its earlier form..
i) Back-up Disc...- Makes the white flames shoot Straight forward, up and down.
j) Wall of fire...- Ceates a wall of red flames behind you that lasts for 2 seconds. It will slowly count down your red flames, can be hit multiple times and does 1 damage.
Note...........- Using underwater will couse some bubbles, just as in 1.23.
---| 7. TNT |--------
Weapons
a) Basic Blaster............- If the weapon is set to the character's basic blaster, you will place Dynamite, sticky bomb or LaIB by hand. Jazz will throw the Rubber explosives.
b) TNT Launcher.............- Allows TNT to be shot out, where it then shoot forward till hitting something (at which case it will either fall (Dynamite), stick (Sticky bomb), or just stop (LaIB, Chaos bomb, or Pulse bomb) or will fall to the ground if its a Rubber explosive. Supports all varieties of TNT.
Ammo
c) Dynamite.................- Just a stick of dynamite. Falls to the ground normally, and explodes for moderate damage after 3 seconds. Damage spreading: 2 damage at the TNT itself, 1 damage at the 8 tiles around it (picture 1).

j) Chain Mace........- Damage: 2. A weaker form of the Flailerang which can be rapidly shot out of a gun that supports it.
k) Boomerang.........- Damage: 3.

l) OEM Speed Hack....- This powerup makes the Flailerang move faster.
m) Defense Mechanism.- This black market addon turn the swords into sheilds which push enemies away instead of hurting them. Only compatible with the blaster.

At a guess, the people you talk to on MSN are people who generally understand and like your ideas anyway. As for me, I find even JJ3's weapon system a little confusing. Yours isn't too bad at glance, but I'm concerned over how useful much of it is.

it was designed to be in 3D, but some things (like the Bouncers or the TNTs) are pretty nice. I find 1.23 bouncers sometimes bouncing not high enough, but with the black bullets (that are made to be rare...) you can get much higher! But for some things, it is better to let them bounce LESS high (If you want them to go down more and more)... Try to see the abilities with so many types of weapons!

You sir, fail at life. When the artist says he doesn't like the fact the game looks more advanced than what was originally conceived(Or at least, that's how I interpeted it) I don't think it was meant to be 3d.(This is assuming you are talking about JJ2, not Bagger's project)
Next, I'd like to request you do not add any of the weapon ideas I suggested for Bagger's project. That means say good bye to the Toaster and Blade gun.(I think I did more, but I am not sure).
Finally, I thought we were supposed to upgrade JJ2 not change the whole game(This is why I'm semi against having the source code released). ;[

It isnt complex at all. You just press [4] for seekers and then [4] again if you want to change weapon. You can press [Backspace] to switch to wanted ammo. Thats it. Nothing hard at all. You dont need to switch weapons all the time:)

Weapons need to be perfectly balanced and each one of them should be useful in other situation, at least for the multiplayer part. I also think that an accurated powered-up RF shot should be able to do even a 3 heart damage as well, that could make matches way more intense.

A good idea, though, would be to make a weapon system like in RTCW, where weapons in multiplayer mode work a whole lot different than in singleplayer.

It is more balanced in MP. In SP, some weapons are just better than other, but in MP every weapon has it's good and bad sides (and the electric thingy doesn't even appear in MP).

I think the idea of another Jazz game is a great idea. But instead of creating a game from scratch, why not mod an existing game. Many games today allow users to modify game data and I'm sure it would be easier than programming a new game IMHO (In my humble opinion).

The eye candy in that Pekka game looks fairly good (other than maybe the background). I'm surprised no one else has mentioned it before. Or if anyone has, why no one seemed to notice. From the other screenshots I've seen, the game could make for some good tileset conversions for JJ2, and maybe something could be arranged.

If possible, we can implement the sprites and sounds of JJ2 into it (yep.. sprite ripper..!), and then we have the 4 most important things: a beginning to expand, an engine, sprites and sounds. We only need levels, tilesets (-support?) and some skills to make it look even more like JJ2! Does that game have a multiplayer (online..) function? And, even more important, is its source code released? (that will help!)

Argh, I'm having a rather bad graphic glitch over here. Whenever any sprite faces left (flips) it becomes invisible. As you can guess, it can make the game much less enjoyable. I don't think I want to play it until some solution rises.

I don't think it's corrupt. It only has graphics for when it's facing right. To make them face left, they are flipped. But somehow there's some weird glitch that makes them disappear. Why not putting in a paremeter in Water Level event to change it color (putting a number of the JJ2 pallete) or a parameter for limited oxygen (set to 0 to make it normal, put some number, example 10, so if you are 10 seconds in the water, you die)? That would be useful :) And then, make Bubbles event to make you so if you are in water and you touch it, the oxygen second time until death resets?

Make generators on a belt just move like normal events do. The features, such as more events on one tile, will get their own events. Also, things included in crates (are that those SCE's?) must work like normal events too, if you want a laser for the GF levels, you can put in an automated shooter, set to the laser (thats gun0 for the event, I think, powerup parameter simply does nothing) and wait time in secs=0, so it only shoots once. This way, you dont need MCE's and it is better when you can put generators on belts, without the parameters being ripped out of it.

Wait... Multiple Events event would have up to 10 parameters, with the label Event, if you put on one the number of an event, that event would appear. It would have one inconvenient: you will not be able to change parameters of each even, so isnt too good.

No, all features of an MCE will get its own event, not one general MCE event! Also, putting more events on one tile is very easy: add tabs inside the Set Event dialog!

Documenting every possible MCE and its outcome would take ages. Considering how you've yet to even start on the program itself, I'd recommend leaving that out.

It would be be cool if someone documented the way enemies and bosses work for people to make mod files with (think Doom wads) and a utility to load these into JJ2. But that's a long shot.

Sure it can, we could see Tweedle, couldn't we? All you have to do is include the event somewhere in the level. (If it's a boss event, Jazz also needs to touch an active-boss event) The sprites can then be viewed in the dynamic ranges, which is somewhere in the 3000's. The problem is, it won't be the same in every level.

If you use the example level, keep the fish where it is, and put Tweedle anywhere in the level. Clear out an unmasked area for Jazz to start in, and make him fall on an activate boss event. Go somewhere in the 3500 range, and you can view the Tweedle sprites where the fish was.

There will be no online play at least for a while because of my lack of skill in the areas of online game creation and not because of lag.
I am planning on starting some time after Christmas if and when I have the sprites I need.
The game at first will be very simple and most (if not all) of it will be compiled in a single EXE file.
Depending if my free time increases (maybe next summer) I will start adding in different features and the game will edge more towards a rebuild than a fan game.
The only problem I have is possibly Epic not being happy with me doing this.
Remember that Jazz2 is essentially a payed-for game so in using their graphics I could be breaching copyright.
I will email Epic and see what their opinions on a fan game are.

Stop calling it 1.25, cuz rep doesnt read the whole thread. This 'project' was renamed 'Jazz Jackrabbit 2 2.##.###' becouse it is a complete rebuild of it. This version number format is called the kernel format, or something like that, just read it back, it is in this thread.
Also, going completely offtopic, I hate the new message maker, becouse all the dropdown menus, buttons, mode thingy, smilies and tag closing buttons dont work. Clicking on them will throw me to the top of the page.
EDIT: in quick reply mode (bottom of the page you are reading from) they work perfectly.

I added a JJ1 cameo, because old jazz is an enemy :D i perfectioned some things, the sounds are still messed up, it stills has music from PK2, none from JJ2... but well, as soon as i add Spaz sprites, ill release an early beta! Only i need Spaz sprites :(

2.) Added Bolly.
3.) Added frog.
4.) Added big font.
5.) Added cursor.
6.) Fixed some animation of Old Jazz enemy.*
7.) Deleted star thing when you killed something.
8.) Added tank.*
9.) Added some JJ1 gun stuff.*
10.) Added fruit.
11.) Added Superbot. (However, isnt a boss.)
12.) Some more things what didnt came to my mind.
Things to make on the final release:
1.) Spaz. (Please post sprites!)
2.) Everything from PK2 turned into JJ things.
3.) JJ Sounds. (I only implemented the blaster sound from Razz Arena wich doesnt even work.)

Yeah, but a rooster does shake its wings when falling, no? And nope, we cant change controls with the sprite editor. The point is what PK2 events are called sprites. BUT this game can be easily modded because the sprites are archived in BMPs.

Okay, so let's revive this project (and thus this thread).
I've just moved the 'Fixes & Features' file in an iframe on page 4 because the old link was very outdated.
Maybe a little bit weird for a seemingly dead project, but a small 'progress' report:
AFAIK nowhere on this thread it's mentioned that the 1.25/Jazz2v2 project changed into the RRR project to get rid of legal problems and make it completely our own. You'll probably remember the sentence "Bored of bunnies? RRR: TLS coming soon" in our (=Jam and I) signatures. It would not be freeware and on the RRf you could win a free copy by guessing the meaning of RRR and another copy by guessing the meaning of TLS.
Well, I must admit that the RRR project never became anything more than almost a megabyte of plain .txt-concepts (still growing, I keep adding ideas) and a program that was, in one word, far from anything you could call a 'game'. We had a few people willing to make sprites, but it never became anything.
Then, for some reason I don't remember,the programming stopped and stuff went silent. Although I'm still adding ideas to the concepts, you could say that this project has died, no-one else was working on it. And in modern times you can revive dead things <strike>(just say you can ;p)</strike>. I've been looking for a programmer for a few weeks but free progammers (I wanted it to be freeware, as I doubted it would ever become anything worth a place in stores) are hard to find nowadays. But then, just a few days ago, I remembered this thread and thought: let's just revive it and see if there is anyone willing to help making RRR after over 17 months of silence.
As there is nothing to win anymore, RRR: TLS stands for Real Robot Resurrection: The Living Secret. This title allowed me to make up an interesting story which I'm not going to tell here. The gameplay should be more or less the same as JJ2, but the theme will be enterely different: robots (and now don't say "we have Battery Check", f00lz).
I'm not going to give too many details in here, but if you got any questions about anything of the game, you may ask. I just hope to find a few people willing to help bring this to life.

Ahem. I believe, I thought up this idea a long time ago in the Jazz 2 episode thread. And nobody gave a Hardrive about it. Proof everybody hates me. Or at least thinks I'm lazy. WHICH I'M NOT!! And I already know that this can be done in gamemaker 6, Registered.

I handle ideas only... I don't even have MMF myself :rolleyes: I prefer making tiny programs in Visual Basic, tho my knowledge of it is embarrassing. :p
