I have a project in mind that could really benefit by getting more people to work on it, so I am looking for people, primarily programmers.

I am looking for people who:

Can program for Windows in some language. I know C and C++ will work for this project. C# and VB probably could also work.
Have some understanding of DLLs, like what they are and how they're used.
Know or can learn how to build DLLs. I can teach you how to do it in C/C++.
Have some knowledge, or preferably experience, in dealing with the inner workings of JJ2 or associated files. (Memory editing, file formats, how to patch particular bugs, how to make Jazz2.exe do what you want, etc.)

If you think you might be able to offer some help, even if you don't have a lot of time, contact me. The more knowledgable people I can get working on this project, the faster and more likely it'll be that this project will get finished.

If I remember correctly, Karazicle(Of Karazicle Race (im)fame) knows some C++.
I'll see if I can contact him.

I doubt it, but I'll try to get a hold of KZ too...

My knowledge of C is minimal at this moment. Without practicing, I forgot a lot.

The only programming languages I know are Brain(-), PHP and Logo, so I'm afraid I'd be no use :)

I checked through my old KZworld fourm PMs, and yes he does know some C++.
I contacted him about Mechaius a while back.

I know many of JJ2's memory addresses...

I know many of JJ2's memory addresses...
...for which versions of JJ2?

1.21-3 mostly, and I've got some for 1.24 as well.

I'll remember you if we get to a point of needing those memory addresses then.

I probably meet all of your requirements, but I lack time and energy to partake in something big. If you need my help though, I'm willing to contribute what I can.

Any hint on what this project is about?

I got memory codes for a lot of stuff (weapons, shields, lives, roast scores, health, airboards/flycarrots, etc), both 1.23 and TSF, for all client numbers.

*raises hand*
Though I prefer GNU/Linux, and most of GNU/Linux-distributions use SO-format instead of DLL-format.
DLL-programming isn't so hard, though. Maybe someone can compile 'em for win32?

I'm rux at memory editing and would be willing to help with whatever.

Link: Your help would be greatly appreciated, but I understand not having the time. I would still like to get you on the project even if all you could contribute is some design advice or tips.

aegis: Seeing as what I'm working on is based in Windows, I need people who know Windows programming. If you know that though, that might be useful.

Black Ninja: Good to hear.

I'll try to see if I can get in contact with each of you so we can talk.

Sorry Monolith, but my programming skills are not great enough to help you. I can program in PHP a little bit anyway, but that has nothing to do with this project. Good luck with your project anyway. Hope it will become a succes!

No programming skills, or rather I can't code. I can understand how programs work though, but I don't understand the syntax. Anyways, I have lots of memeory adresses and stuff too. My latest catch was the memory adresses for all rabbits' anims in a server (both 1.23 and TSF). I collected them in order to create an automatical fake3-remover, but I can't finish the project since I dunno any programming language. So, er... I can help with memory scanning. The actual purpose of this post was to find someone willing to finish my work. =P
