I like the idea, though there's one major problem: when you're on the "upper plane", there's no way to go back to the "lower plane" without going back to the level start.

Well, it's just a concept level to show the posibilities, people can take the idea and expand it.

Yes, I can make 1.23 levels thanks to TECJCS, but I'm too lazy for making it again from scratch ;P

TECJCS (assuming we're talking about the same thing here) is a password ignoring JCS.

When is the 1.23 full thing coming out?

Correct.

...You can also use it to bypass password protection, AFAIK.

TECJCS does skip passwords. That or Agent Jackrabbit mysteriously lost it's passwords in the time it took to download TECJCS.

Like they said. I have TECJCS myself, and it ignores passwords.

Next time try to play the level in TSF, n00b. Not having it isn't an excuse since a couple minutes on google will get you a download. If you don't have it for "moral reasons" then I suggest you just shoot yourself for intense stupidity due to the fact that you actually think you're hurting Epic by downloading a game they no longer even sell.

Hey! Some of us are fighting a 2 way battle against ourselves!
Example:
ME:JUST DOWNLOAD!
I:But it's illegal!
ME: (-) your moral reasons!
I:I won't! Next thing you know, it's smoking!
ME: No it isn't!
I:I refuse.
ME:They don't even care to mention it!
I:Well, I agree thats wrong...
ME:So get it!
I:Yet that's also wrong!

You see?

I don't throw chewinggum paper on the street because I know it's wrong. Even though it doesn't change anything, because most other people do that because they don't care. But I still don't do it. Get it?

If you're going to use the background trick like the one in your map, try finding a background that doesn't color weird when used in texture mode. That may just give you a higher rating... :)

Coincidentally enough I started a race level using a similar concept (ftp://ftp.tachyonlabs.com/pub/users/ttachyon/sam/1v10road.png).

That screenshot looks fairly familiar to me. I think I saw it in an article about things you can do with the textured background option. How old is that, Cooba?

How can you hide the top part? Because knowing that, I'll be able to make bonus levels!

It´s still illegal. But since it´s so easy to get TSF for free, why don´t you give us a link, since Epic won´t be hurt by it?

Just with regular tiles in a background layer (as in layers 5-7). In the mentioned example, black tiles were used and the X and Y speeds of that background layer were probably set to 0. If you don't understand what I mean, I suggest trial and error.

Those stars (which came with the tileset) are either on the same layer with the black tiles or are in front of that layer (I can't exactly tell from the picture).

And in case you still don't believe, here's a level (http://www.jazz2online.com/d3/roadtest01.zip) I made a while ago that uses the ideas based off Violet's article (http://www.jazz2online.com/J2Ov2/articles/view.php?articleID=199).
