I just bought J2, and when I installed, and tried to patch it using the patch hosted on this site I couldn't because the patch on this site is for version 1.21-1.23, whereas the version I have is 1.00, Does anyone know where I can download a patch for version 1.00?

Whoa, 1.00 is a really old version. Did you get the game with a box, manual and CD case?

I don't think there is a patch for 1.00 to anything, but other ppl know more.... :p

You can still play 1.23 with 1.24 using this (http://www.jazz2online.com/J2Ov2/downloads/info.php?levelID=1334) program.
Cheers.

Speaking of which, what version of 1.00 do you have? 1.00g or 1.00h?
If it's 1.00h be prepared for random people who will ask for your copy of the game.

1.00g is an illegal beta version. Being a beta, you can't upgrade it, or really use it for anything but single player. The levels are in a different format, and it doesn't come with a JCS.

Buy the game please.

That happened when using Controller 4 for 1.00g and not 1.24, right? If the answer's yes, don't worry about it. If no, then...

It's legal (-). It all depends on how you aqquire it. As he said he bought it, and I beleive him since OEM discs have been seen on Ebay and Baggers bought one at a Garage sale. That and multiple sites have explained how the OEM discs were distributed.

Maybe you should research everything first.

@n00b: That's 1.00 OEM version. Not the betas. Which from my memory (I had one once, installed it and never really played it, then lost it), only said 1.00. Maybe you should stop acting like a pompous jerk.

1.00g is an OEM version.

Nope it just says version 1.00
Wow...i have a rather rare item here !There you have it, 1.00 is the legal OEM version given out with certain hardware from 1997 or so. Your definition of OEM is confused with beta. 1.00g is a beta, 1.00 is an OEM.

I'll leave it at that.

So there's some other version of 1.00g floating around that wasn't originally distributed as OEM from Intel? Fascinating.

For starters there are two seperate patches: one for the retail version and another for the Shareware Demo. Are you sure you got the right one?

Can you give more detail on what happens when you try to run the patch, and how you run it?

Well,I have the full version 1.20, and the patch runs and passes by till the check of the previous version, then in the "Patching Files" process it stops immidiately and says

"There's a problem with the patches for the following files :

Capture1.j2l - Unknown version

Please reinstall jazz jackrabbit2 from your CD or Shareware installer and re-apply

this patch"

Thats all and thnx :)

I take a wild guess and say your capture1.j2l is damaged somehow. Maybe replacing it with a normal one will fix the problem?

If you give me your e-mail address I can send you the file and you just need to replace it.

There's no guarantee this will work, but it seems to be the cause.

Either I'm completely misinformed, or a JJ2 version 1.00 without a letter at the end wasn't known so far.
