Hi everyone, I'm new to these forums and I only signed up to ask stuff about that level will probably all know about, QoB. I find it an amazing level, yet I'm stuck. Horribly stuck, that is. At the beginning. Is anyone able to help me out? I would love it if someone could provide me with any information, Or even better, a walkthrough.
I have opened the first door once, but I didn't save and I forgot how I opened it. That was about 3 years ago though. I haven't played the game since, and I'm starting to pick it up again. So, once again, I started all over, and I have NO CLUE what do to.
Can anyone help? Walkthroughs/FAQS? Hints? Tips?
(oh, and I did search (with google and on these forums) about how-to-complete/continue on QoB. No clear results)

In any case...

After unlocking door 1, you should go back to the starting spot (1). Then you should make your way to point (2). There's a tricky sucker tube on your way though, you should approach it slowly so you can pass. Anyway, you should end up in a place with a lot of warps. Play around with them (their order doesn't matter) until you get to point (3). When there, you should go right (unless there's a door there, it's there if you didn't unlock door 1) and then door 2 should be open, and so should be the Tzar Caves door. Have fun exploring the large maze, by the way.

Yeah I've been in that large maze before, couple of years back. I forgot how to do that so I don't know how to open door 1.
Thanks for the explaination, much appreciated. I only need to know how/where the trigger to door one is =P
By the way, I am just wondering here.. How the HELL do you open QoB in JCS? I mean, that would help me out, for sure. Only that password.. I don't you are going to post it right here, can you either PM or email it by any change?
I found the 'Spaz' space, with the guided missiles, and I found the icers more east of the level.

I'm still wondering about that password for jcs. Can you at least tell me how or where you got it? I soo want it :(

Rogier, try saving the level (at any point). If you can, it'll make life much easier in QoB. :)
Rogier
Oct 6, 2005, 11:35 AM
I saved right before the doors of Tzar's maze or whatever it's called but I got that 'No Memory Left' error :( No saving for me...

Darn, too bad. That often happens with huge lvls (few ppl, if any, can save in QoB).

Yeah, I guess.
I found that invisible maze, and that was where I stopped aswell. Man, That is like impossible. I seem to be stuck in serveral ways, I can't get 'out' of a certain area. Any suggestions?
Coopa still hasn't replied to my question about that password :(

There is a JCS 1.24 cracker but its very rare ;<
The TECJCS really is a ripped version of (myname).exe as I compared the file with my own and got a full match.
On a sub-related thing, it isn't so hard to manually remove lvl passwords.
EDIT: Considering the fact that TECJCS came out later, I couldn't have possibly ripped it.
Grytolle
Oct 7, 2005, 01:16 AM
Or you ripped it? 8D Or maybe there is even the slight chance that it wasn't a very hard thing to do, and could pretty much only be done in one way?

Funny, I open password-protected lvls with OL's JCS, rather than TEC JCS. ;p I think I only have TEC JJ2.
There is a JCS 1.24 cracker but its very rareThe first one that came out was (myname).exe for 1.23. I remember that day when I made a level for it and put the news all over it. The level also had a WinZip username/serial inside it. Was funny to watch people try it and be astonished once they figured that it actually worked. There really was no 1.24 JCS release. But there were 2 patches (one for 1.23 and other for 1.24) that came out later. These were about 15 KB each and they modified a user's JCS to ignore level passwords. I think I still have them on a CD somewhere, but don't ask me for them as I'm not supposed to spread them.
Nagging me will not get you anywhere... else than in my ignore list ;)
Funny, I open password-protected lvls with OL's JCS, rather than TEC JCS. ;p I think I only have TEC JJ2.There is no TEC JCS. It's all just an illusion. Always has been.

I can't say. But it's probably the easiest to download one of those JCS edits that ignore passwords. I have never tried opening passworded levels without though.

Yay, completed the level. I used JCS in the background for the 'map' of the invisible maze though. So I guess I cheated. But it was hard anyway.

You're right Lithium, but I hope that will be done in the development of Jazz 3 and shall not be aborted, such as by Epic Games. Otherwise this development is a very good try, I completely surprised when I tried this awesome this unoffical patch for Jazz 3. I think they can be done someday.

Now, I can open the door 1,2 on 'queen of board' without cheat.
so I go to the T'Zarin crystal cave...

I know that blue block is not T'Zarin crystal.
so I keep going..

Yay.. I found the crystyal room, but the only thing I can shoot/buttstomp there is the green half of the half green-half blue ball.
BUt!.. Jazz can only break green half one, and he can't break other blue half one..
so I use the cheat code : JJMORPH.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/t1/1794702_1376436205959454_864797621_n.jpg
Yeah. Spaz can break that blue half one with his great kicking skill.
But..
After break the crystal, I go out of the caves, but again there are a blue and a red block when I fall down the hallway, I shoot the wall again and it again teleports me to my death. NOOOO!
Is there anything else to destroy in the crystal room, and how do I go about that?
now what?..
you said just 'now what?'?
how do I know that?! I don't have any other answer to you! why are you question to me huh?
NOW WHAT?!
And several times later, I found someone's walkthrough.
Got to point 1 on the map and get some ice powerups (roughly 304, 241) {press f9 for coordinates}
Go to point 2 on the map (roughly 292, 251) and shoot the block(maybe TNT?) then freeze the spring to get by. If you waste your freezers more are avaiable at the very far right zagged silver wall of the main QoB area (roughly 451, 340)
http://img169.yfrog.com/img169/5460/qob.png
well.. Ok..

I follow the plunK's walkthrough, but there is nothing on there I can activate or break somethings..
Is there any something I missed? I don't thing so..
there's nothing happend even I shoot/buttstomp all blocks in that area.
then.. where should I go now?
Please give me some information!

Two bits of information:
1) Jazz 2 has a screenshot key! It's F12. Or if that doesn't work for you because you don't have any programs that read .pcx or .tga images, you can use print screen instead. Point is, taking photos of your computer screen is a bit silly.
2) If all else fails, you can watch someone else play it up to that part.

In all those years, I've totally missed the existence of that macro file.
So yesterday I tried running it in JJ2. But for some reason the Jazz sprite got all goofed up and eventually gets stuck in a platform as an airboarding sprite right after returning from the first AreaID trigger room. Both the tileset and the level are original, and the problem happens with both plussified and non-plussified TSF.
Anyone knows how and why this happens?

TSF has problems with macros, or at least macros recorded in 1.23 (don't remember which).
Slaz
Feb 14, 2014, 02:12 PM
Ahh, I didn't knew that. ;)
I've tried running this macro file in 1.23 now. In Plus, it got 'out of sync' while the player was on it's way to the 2nd AreaID. The macro kept playing alright, the player just went back and forth mindlessly in one area.
Then I tried it non-plussified. The player got a lot further, all the way into the Tzarin maze! However, at the beginning of the maze it took a wrong turn on the upper-left and that's where it goes cuckoo. It got stuck in a pattern spazzing out as if all buttons were pressed at once at a slight interval of a few seconds. Then at last I tried playing it windowed (non-plussified) to check if framerate somehow interferes, but it does exactly the same getting stuck at the Tzarin maze.
So in short:
The Macro gets out of sync in Plus. And gets stuck in a pattern in non-Plus.
Has anyone ever played this macro successfully from the beginning to the end? I doubt it. :p
Treylina
Feb 14, 2014, 04:03 PM
One day I'd like to see plus have its own improved macro format, that could be user friendly, not buggy as hell and do so much more.
Oops that's kind of off-topic. But kind of relevant to the discussion of the mess that is JJ2 macros.

On a less sarcastic note, I agree with Treylina -- it would be nice for Plus to fix macros.
Anyway, on a more on-topic note, I haven't actually played QoB in a long time, and I've never actually completed it, either. I guess I should do that...

Yeah, thx, I've seen that link already somewhere in this thread but Macros work really weird on my Jazz. Well...
it seems like it is my task to end this story.
Queen of Board is really a hard level. I dont know if anyone was able to solve this without hacking it with jcs or the tileset. You can solve all the stuff, the labyrint of tzar and the other parts that names I forget. Dont ask me how much time I spent with qob. The first time I played it was probaply more than 15 years ago. I managed to solve this a first time I think in 2016. So the basic question for everyone who spent many hours with that level is how to go trough the hidden labyrinth. The answer is really simple and I'm wondering why noone hasn't done it the way I did. Just make a drawing of that labyrinth on squared paper. It took me several evenings until I had the full labyrinth. You also need to consider that you cant just save the level and you have to do all things each time until you get to the labyrinth! Even with the finished drawing I was not able to finish the level because there was still some detial missing. You have to find at least three super secrets. I only had two or one of them, I can't remember. To find the last one it was necessary to walk on every field and check if theres something hidden. Well the result of all is a video of a full walkthrough of the level on youtube that I have uploaded already in 2016.
https://youtu.be/dPi7JTtHgIk
At 11:19 theres a bottom stomp. That was the last detail that was missing and really (!) hard to find. At least you can use the tnt also.
Oh and at that moment I dont feel to publish the drawing of the labyrinth. Maybe later :D;)
