Hey again, this time I dueled Enig for LB Eight-Finals...we did this only a moment ago the deadline so I guess I had to agree Yasco as a host again for both rounds. It was good enough this time anyway. Both levels we dueled in were kinda small and tactical ones so they were done both in approx. 5 mins after all.

Round 1
Level: Swingin Jazz
Score: 5-2 for me
My own comments: Somehow I expected to get a score of 5-2 or 5-3 for myself though I was still aware that BBswing hadn't been a favorite one for me. Both scored in turns in the beginning but finally I found some sort of a rhythme and had an allright timing of catching Enigma from either of the carrots. He happened to score twice though because the route between bases was after all so short that he took the flag right after I had scored and so ran to his base before me. I was blue btw.

Round 2
Level: KnightMare Castle
Score: 5-0 for me
My own comments: This was somewhat as quick as the previous round. The level was more simple, symmethrical and more like my cup of tea. Had a dash of luck here even. But not really too different than the other round.

Well, looks like Enigma seemed to retire from his competitive jj2-career, due to 'old bones' and I understand University goes over jj2. Easier for me since I'm not in one. I could see all of this about his movement-style and all. Well, gl hf Enig. I have no idea whom I'll face next though. DS and CB seem to have quite equal skill in duels atm though I haven't seen DS himself playing at all in long time. And who knows if that match is forfeited again. We'll see.

Aaaand some comments by me again!

As we speak, 8 of the in total 12 matches in Round 3 have been played, including all matches from the remaining 8 candidates in the Winner's Bracket. One of those 8 matches is forfeited, the other 7 are played as usual. For the reamining 4 matches, I know that two of thosematches will be played at monday (Sacrush vs. DeDe, True Musou vs. Spybunny) one will be played later today (DarkSonic vs. Chiyu) and about the last one I'm completely unsure (SkulL vs. Sperry), but I have good hopes.
There's one problem which is started to grow bigger however: the distance between the Winner's and Loser's Brackets is growing. This is of course because players in the Loser's Bracket have to play more matches to reach the finals... it's of great importance that players who are in the Loser Bracket PLAY THEIR MATCHES AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! Players in the Winner's Bracket don't have this problem - in fact, it's better that they wait until the Loser's Bracket has reached the point that the WB Semifinal Losers are required to go on. This will take a week or two, I suppose. Anyway, the amount of players in the tournament is rapidly decreasing (20 as we speak), which indicates we are making progress. For now, try to be as active as possible, and play your duels when you're able to.

I can say I'm looking forward to some great WB Semifinals and LB duels ;)

Old bones indeed, I'm feeling like a jj2 dinosaur these days. Guess it's true what they say about it being impossible to play well if you don't have your mind on the game. Well played of Viv though :) (Although I did like being able to score twice despite never killing him even once in the entire game)

Snooz dont leave the tournament. First as first, you can still win. I am really surprised with the result, as Veg is not renowned for being a good duelist. Plus I saw u 2 play on my server and u lost by 1 point. SO this must mean u had bad luck. Don't give up cuz of one crappy day. Would Janne give up?:)
Anyway what I'm saying is, u still have all the chances to win, or to make it in top 3. If u shouldnt make, u will have at least tried.

Ya I agree, DS is a superb teamplayer(as is Chiyu, so yes, the match should be kewl).
Me, viv and DS played a gr8 3v3 against Veg and some others, and won the game. DS was a very positive surprise(heh I was a very positive surprise for me as well truth be told:)).
Anyway, more close matches in the future. Although my money is kinda on FS. If skull were more active, I think he could beat him, but the situation being the way it is, I think FS is the biggest favourite. We mustnt count off VEg of course, he played a gr8 duel against FS(which he lost, but still), plus, beating a guy like snooz, thats just wow!!

That was hard, but a good game nonetheless.

The first round in JE went rather smoothly and even, everytime I scored, he scored.. Until it was 3-3, and I scored twice in a row and won the match.

The second round in BBlair was very evil. I got to a 4-0 lead, but then I got killed once by a 3hk and so he scored. After that, I kinda lost my concentration, and DS scored 4 times in a row, bringing the score to 4-4. Actually, when he scored the 4-2, I already thought "sigh, exactly what I feared for, he is gonna make a come back and beat me". I got lucky near the end, and thought of a laming strategy to end the match. Camping at both cars, waiting for him to shoot me so I would pick them up, THEN hit him once, and run to the car that I took first.. Wait for him there, and finish him off. It worked, and I won the second round with 5-4. Close game.

So 2-0 in total. Thank God we didn't get to play in QQ, I would have surely lost there (never duelled before, while JE, DW and BBlair are the levels I duelled most in).

@ Urbs. I never expected that I would be able to beat snooze in BBlair, nor Blacky overall. so, I kind of 'underestimated' myself. But, I'm getting in a good shape again the last 2 weeks. :-) maybe because I don't play jj2 all day anymore.. =P I don't think I'll make it too the finals, FS is a bit erm.. well, considering that I've never been able to beat him.. ugh, little chance =P but there ofcourse is R3ptile too :-)

Z0mg, this game was ehm.. actually, not all that close AT THE START.
Chiyu was leading 4-0 for a while, but oh well.. it was the game of RFed 3hk's again.
I noticed some of them, but, it's hard to check everything out in such a big level.
DarkSonic had a huge comeback after a 3hk from Chiyu (which DarkSonic counted).
After that, Chiyu became stuck, so, he had to get ammo again!
DarkSonic handled Chiyu pretty well, actually, and had a nice come back. But well, the better player from this game finally won.. 5-4.. (It was because of a stupid mistake from DarkSonic too.. :P going into a warp while he knew that Chiyu was close to it.)
G_G overall. and, RFs should be killed. I think I counted 6 "RF 3hk's" aka FAKE health tonight. ;-)

As I promised, there are some comments!

Round 1: R3ptile vs. CelL - 2 - 5 Security Breach v2

My choice. I prefered to pick a map I know well since I just couldn't take risks anymore. Both Cell and I were quite sure I'm gonna win this round easily since SBv2 is one of his most hated levels. I probably underestimated him badly, and when I finally started to play as I'm used to, it was already too late.

Round 2: R3ptile vs. CelL - 5 - 3 Zaitox Station 67

After my loss in SBv2 I already thought I have no chance at all and Cell is gonna wh00p my (-), especially since it's been a while since I duelled here, and the fact he played with Jazz gave him a huge advantage as well as he could reach the other base way faster than me. I actually managed him like 20 times in a row but he kept capturing the flag and also pulled off a 3-1 lead. At last I found a way to reach the base fast enough and won the match. I'm still quite shocked to be honest. O_O;;.

Round 3: R3ptile vs. CelL - 5 - 3 BloodBunny's Lair

Honestly, this time I was already much more confident as BBLAIR is one my better levels and I already beat Cell here not a long time ago, though I tried not to underestimate him as it made me lose the first round. Although I think I won quite easily, Cell did much better than I expected. Nothing else to add.


Conclusion

Well, this was one of the toughest duels I've had, and I've also learnt a lesson - never underestimate your opponent. Now I should get my revenge on the defending champion, FS, in order to qualify to the WB final and face Vegito. The two last tourney's finalists are gonna face each other!

I just had a match againt DeDe, And I lost. :)

Level: Jungle's Edge

Round 1: I had a very fast first kill and made 0-1 but then I sucked and lost 5-1 which was pretty bad for me.

Round 2: Again I made the first point but Then DeDe scored twice, I killed him but wasnt able to score because a spring bounced me away from the base which made DeDe to grap the flag just before I could score, Then he/she had 2 point again which made it 4-1 for him but luckaly I still could manage to roast him and added another point to my final score, Just after I scored my second point DeDe grapped the flag and then it was a race to the base, And I lost that race which made him to score and ended whith 5-2 for DeDe, this was quite a good round but I did made some mistakes

OVERALL: 10-3 for DeDe and I have to duel more to get better. :)

But that duel in JE was very evil at the end, when Chiyu sat on a place to shoot with Seekers(that I didn't have) and the most stupid thing is that I didn't saw it ;(
The BBLair duel started terrible. Although in most duels I start quite good and the end is worse, this time it was the opposite. Because I was 4 points behind I noticed I didn't want to lose 5-0, that should have been terrible because I haven't lost so badly in BBLair for ages. So after the first point I was glad I didn't lose 5-0 =P

After the duel we wanted to do a fun duel in QQ, but never did one. When we were planning to do the duel he had to go play AOE3, and after that I haven't seen/asked him.

But after all I guess I can't do anything about the fact that I lost and that I'm out of the tournament, since FS is better and Chiyu should be better too(maybe if I picked QQ before BBLair I could have won there.)

I'd understand you need to prepare for such a duel, but you already knew you had to play FireSworD since about 10 days, looks like enough time to prepare yourself. I know it's a heavy-weight duel, but you shouldn't take it too heavy.
About progress in the Loser's Bracket: you're not the only one who wants to see progress, I want that as well (and badly). But, unfortunately, it's just not possible to have these matches being played so soon. Players have their studies, jobs, or other stuff to do during weeks that prevent them from playing their matches. It's too bad, but everyone has such things, and it's no reason to prevent those players from signing up, is it?

Anyway, I didn't tell FS or anyone that I would give you a forfeit loss if you didn't play this weekend, but I have to agree with FireSworD that it's taking a bit long, especially since there's really no reason to postpone the duel any further. The wait time in the LB could take a while, but I don't see a way to stop that.

Hint: don't sign up for JJ2 tournaments if you don't want to play JJ2. Tournaments generally can't be stopped and restarted every time one of the players doesn't feel like playing.

I just don't unfortunately feel like writing a FULL match report yet again, especially because the duel was 3 rounds long but I indeed noticed I did hit him in some weird ways when I didn't even know about it though he actually taught me that shoot car down + camp at bottom(tactic in je)I was somehow always able to hit him with Bouncers through the middle-tube. I don't know what was Umba doing at his comp meanwhile we were dueling but it seemed there was some more of lag once we got on AYB and JE. He told of several airhits which I could have also had but I just seemed to have some luck of striking him with one first so I couldn't get them, whatever. I indeed played a bit careless in Semi and looks like he had indeed planned his tactics well there. There I had a chance to get airhits indeed, not too many than 2 or 3 perhaps still. He rather gave up already in the quite begin of JE, so I can very well do a friendly rematch with you anyways some day, Yasco. These were the scores:

5-1 for him in Happy Semi-Conductor.
5-2 for me in AllYourBase.
5-0 for me in Jungle's Edge.

Comments: I have no idea how i won really. Cell started off with a 2 point lead, and it was 2-0. I quickly scored after that (twice) making it 2-2. At this point the game was dragging on, we both played smart and none of us died for a while. Sometime later I died but Cell didnt get to base fast enough. Later it became 3-3, and then i did something stupid and cell scored. It was 4-3 and I had 1h, and I was forced to go into combat with cell. Somehow I didnt die and Cell did, so I barely got back to base in time and scored (still 1h). I was shooting powered bouncers everywhere on the way to the base and on the way back, and somehow right after i got the flag cell died and i managed to score the final point. I still have no idea how he died there, but apparently he got a lot of lag near the end. Anyways, my hands are still trembling right now ;P, because it was 4-3 for Cell at 1 point and i had 1h left. Very GG, too bad Cell got lag in the end though.

We didnt play our second level yet (SBv2) cause Cell is busy, and I have no idea when we'll play ;D.

5-1 in PBA. It was a quick duel and he didn't do to well there since he didn't know the level well.

5-4 in BBlair. This game was horrible, 3hks decided it basically. R3ptile played masterfully, I've never seen such accuracy since I've seen bob play. He was simply too fast for most of my attacks. All of my kills were either by well-timed rfs or when he was low on weapons. He kept luring me into attacking him which made me constantly get the carrots. To counter this I tried to use it against him, only to make the game dead boring.

5-2 Happy Semiconductor. This round wasn't too great, Ammo failed to respawn for both of us. He also seemed to be unprepared and I took him by surprise quite a few times, even killed him with plain blaster and scored the last point. He was definitely not at his best.

5-2 Diamondus Warzone. Now this was an exciting match. Everything was going right. It started off very intense, as we were trying to gain control of the duel. As it progressed things were in my favor but Veg did not give up! He played smart and made it hard for me to win near the end.

The database is structured in this way: one for all the matches and one for all player info. I'll have to update the roasts/kills fields for each player and the points player 1 and points player 2 field for each forfeited match. It would have been easier if I had made an edit-script, but I didn't expect anything like this.

We did a random level and landed on this. Was close in the beginning, then SJ leaded 4-1 or something, then i caught up 4-3, then he won. I cant ever win people in this level, and the carrot placement was annoying because it often fell into half masked scenery behind floatups and you had to buttstomp really close to the grave to get it.

So today I finished my duel against Blacky. Blacky was another tough one after the first round which was actually just pure lag for him.
Anyway, we decided to play round one with an european host and the rest with Fs.

Round 1: Pinball Arena 2005
Host: Umba
Score: 5-0 for me
My own comments: I agreed to play against Blacky in his own level because I preferred it enough over some other previously used level. Anyway it would have surely been much better score for him if Fs hosted this one as well, but the deal was the deal.
I don't know what's the matter Umba's server recently but anyway this was easy to understand because of the distance. So he couldn't really do anything against me there.

Round 2: Zaitox Station 67

Score: 5-2 for him
My own comments: I actually managed to recapture several times during the game because of me being Jazz+blue. I tried to play careful but it didn't seem to be enough. Though still just curse on my isp or whatever caused the packet losses
and stuff about chat. At the game being 4-2 I was gonna stop the game and reporting Blacky about a possible fake3 but later Blacky told me he hadn't seen me talking anything during the entire duel, nor did I see any chatting after 2-2 or so.
Plus that I got timed out of the server(or actually "connection lost") a moment after that. I don't mind too much that he could have actually continued the game for once more because I actually slowed down while I tried saying stop.
So we, uhh, went to the third round.

Round 3: Random(Mort Myre)

Score: 5-3 for me
My own comments: After suggesting a dozen of levels we just decided going on random as Fs asked about it. After switching the level for twice we decided to go with Fs' picked Mort Myre. This time there was enough time to act after respawn because of this level being so large in width.
It seemed that Blacky preferred going the tunnel-route and taking the rf-pu from middle meanwhile I took both Bouncy and Toaster from above. There was much sniping with rf's and we both even killed each other at the same time for twice. Luck was also needed as both of
us could sometimes seem to hit each other advantagely without receiving damage from another. Guess you know what I mean. I actually took some dangerous chances and he was almost about to make a comeback from 4-1. I anyway took the powerup's instead of running straight
to his base. I finally got use of the sucker tube around the middle at the last moments which earlierly was considered useless by me.

Heh, first I would lose to Squirrel but now I could anyway beat Blacky who had just crushed Squirrel. Well, these do happen sometimes. So, tomorrow dueling Veg. :+)

I just faced SuperJazz.. I was quite lucky, to be honest.

First round: Semi. Score: 5-4 (Vegito). Host: Umba.

Uhm.. this was.. quite weird, actually. In the start, there was no respawn.. So, Umba rehosted at 1-1. After that, everything went a bit better. I quickly took a 3-1 lead..
Than, I somewhat collapsed, he got a come back, which made it 3-3. At 3-3, something quite lame happened. Me and SJ both had 1h. I was shooting bouncers to him, but, he accidentaly killed Umba at that time as well. I thought I had killed him, so ran to carrot, but he didn't die, so I got killed. -_-' made it 4-3.
After that, I had to be carefull, it resulted in a 5-4 win to me. (I was quite lucky at 4-4 though.)

Second round: Untitled snow level. Score: 0-5 (SuperJazz) Host: Umba.

This was.. well, I got owned. It was my first duel there, and maybe my 4th match there. So, everything went wrong. (And I had quite some airhits at the seek pu.)
I couldnt win here anyways.

Third round: Jungle's Edge. Score: 5-1 (Vegito) Host: Umba.

This was.. fast.
I quickly got a 2-0 lead, but, after that, SJ started lagging or something. at 4-1, I was like '(-)' already. He had 1 heart, I shot carrot down, but somehow, he got the carrot. Somewhere after that, I killed him in a weird way. He hit me, I hit him, I was up, just got the carrot, and he came up again, so I killed him. Right after that, he CTO'ed. It was his connection, and it was a 3hk.. (the first 3hk in game, I think.)

Done with Veg. Since it's Christmas Eve today I rather wouldn't like to write a full match report but anyway short comments. There wasn't much anything special during the rounds though he got some airhits...

The Semi-round was just really close and his choice. He strangely avoided my hits sometimes while I could for example kill him in a tactical way. He also happened to think he roasted me once I roasted Umba who was the host meanwhile he was chasing me. Then I managed to roast him for that anyway. But then the last one was kind of annoying for the carrot being shot down for me and floating for him.
Then on round 2 we played Untitled Snow Level of kinda my choice. It after all seemed he didn't really try to even play at his best, but got almost roasted a few times however.
On round 3 I was just confused and small but a bit strange airhits happened to me as well while I was down at the seeker-pu. Somewhat I just couldn't manage to make it safe after taking his flag and got roasted in a row. And I don't after all get it, but once I saw Veg scoring 5th point, which was in fact a 3hk for me, I got timed out. I'm shortly getting annoyed. >.<

Soo, I was actually aiming to reach just the semi-finals in either bracket, I luckily got a bit further and I am somewhat pleased. But then again I would have been more eagered to duel Fs some-time. Actually Veg could have just gave up because he won JDC 11 already. j/k
