View Full Version : Jazz Jackrabbit MMORPG?!

Unfortunately, I'm not here to tell you that a JJMMORPG is in production, although I wish I could. I don't think one will ever be made, either!

However! If one was ever made, would you play it? I think it could have the potential to be a nice RPG. You could play as, say, a Jackrabbit (duh!), Turtle, Lizard, Possum (Remember Skitch? Those days are long gone...), or you could even play as a [insert random animal here]!

You certainly would have enough worlds to explore. Just flesh them out a little, add some more content, and you've got a very unique MMORPG!

So would you play it? Or is this the crappiest idea ever?

I'd give it a try, although I am too busy with two other MMORPG's...

RuneScape and WoW.

If you don't mind me asking, which do you like better and why?

If you make it a sidescroller like JJ2, it would be interesting, though it better be greatly different from MapleStory or it would lose the charm and wonder a unique game has. If it was just a generic top down RPG like Everquest or such then you REALLY better make it different or else there wouldn't be much point. I do think it would be interesting if it was side-scrolling and gave a higher degree of movement (higher jumps, faster walking) then other MMORPGS. Then you could make it so health values are lower then the norm and put more empthasis on manually dodging attacks then just taking them.

RuneScape, for it is being updated every week, you are NEVER finished playing. New quest every week, map expansion every week, and it's even cheaper than WoW. I mean, a lousy $5 a month(!)

Oh, and, if you can't afford that, I'd go with WoW. It's easy to crack. Although you lose your character's money every month or so, if the server needs refreshing.

Runescape is $5 a month, not $5 a week. Also, WoW is more expensive than Runescape.

Err, sorry. I meant $5 a month... I checked... ;) At least for Europe. I pay €4,40, which is about $5.

What, i don't understand what your saying you never lose your money if the server refreshes :p

Runescape is also available for people who don't want to pay, but it sucks.

But that's unrelated.

I guess I'd play it, if there were no montly fees.

I like WoW better, because the graphics don't make my eyes bleed like Runescape =D

But Thunder, ever reconsidered that you play a MMORPG for the community behind it? RuneScape itself bores me sometimes (not now, they release new quests every week!) but still, RuneScape's community is more relaxed and comfy than WoW's community.

For example:
When I play WoW:
*walk walk walk*
"Oh dear, a lvl 250 Black Ogre Mage. It seems like he has been training alot!"
*dies*

When i play RuneScape:
*walk walk walk*
"Oh dear, a lvl 126 (Max in runescape) player! Hello!"
Lvl 126: "Yes, I want to buy some herbs for 5 times the shop's price!"
Me: "Woo! \o/"

Even though all RuneScapers know that herbs shop price is 1gp... :p Still... :D

People don't care about eachother in WoW. They just kill everything that gives them exp. In RuneScape, you challenge eachother for a deathmatch or a friendly duel. You can even play CTF on RuneScape. That's something WoW lacks: Comfort!

From experience, I think it's more reversed-

"Hey, that guy's level 126."
"(-)ING NOOB STOP STEALING MY KILLS"
"(-)? *reports*"
"Dear ThunderPX,

We suck and therefore we will instead shift the blame on you.

Yours sincerly,
Jagex staff"

The correct way to say that is "did you call Hipper and I n00bs?"

Excuse me, did you called me and Hipper n00bs?
Almost. There are always exeptions, but still I was talking about the general free-to-play RuneScaper, who never took a look at the online manual, who always asks for things which are obvious (Example: Someone followed me into a POTATO PATCH and asked "Where can I find potatoes?") and ALWAYS follows you if you didn't answer. That's the general free-to-play RuneScaper.

@Radium: 8D

I wouldn't consider myself a general free to play Runescaper. Check out the stats for magoox if you want to know why.

No, because:
1. MMORPGs are too addicting and I dont have time
2. Jazz Jackrabbit would be a crappy theme for a MMORPG anyway

Gry, you don't appear in the Highscores, so either:

1) You don't have skills above level 30 ( )
2) You don't own an account.

Well, for the Scapers out there, I'm Thefrost1989, a mage to be reckoned with...

A JJ2 MMORPG would own, but only if it's side-scrolling. An excellent example: MapleStory.

Because as we all know, MMORPGS are supposed to be in a fanatsy world, and not be about gun-toting,planet-hopping lapines and turtles.

I figure with this audience it would only be a Somewhat Multiplayer Online RPG.

Hmmm..strange but interesting idea. It would be good if it had a story in the middle of it. I would certainly buy it! Say, it could be released one year as a 2D version, then another year re-released in 3D!

P.S I've been going a lot recently. Sorry but I have a busy life!
