Hey, everyone. I was going to wait until Saturday to post this, but I decided to go ahead and post it now to give you all a taste of what's coming up. So, here it is - chapter 1 of Foo Story 2 (don't read this unless you read Foo Story 1, or it'll make no sense at all).
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
<b>Foo Story 2: The Planet of Secrets</b>
<b>Chapter 1: A Ruined Planet</b>
Sonyk jumped up in bed, choking. It had been nearly a year since Fooruman had destroyed the earth’s atmosphere, and it was getting harder and harder to breathe. There had been several attempts since then to take Fooruman down, but nothing had come of it. Spotty had joined the resistance after Unfooruman’s tragic death, and he had proved useful in helping to locate Fooruman each time he moved to a new castle.
Sonyk looked at his computer. They’d done the math, and had developed a program to show the approximate date when it would no longer be possible to live on earth. Sonyk sighed deeply. “Only a month to go.” He hopped out of bed and looked out the window – pitch black, same as always. He walked slowly to the bathroom, stretched, and looked into the mirror. “Well,” he said, “time to decide the future of earth’s remaining population.”
<center>**********</center>
Sonyk looked around the conference table of the Global Technology Corp headquarters. There were only four other people there: Spotty, Faw, Coppertop (GTC’s resident scientist), and another scientist named Violet, who Sonyk hadn’t seen before.
Coppertop stood up and spoke. “Well, as you are all well aware, our calculations tell us that the earth will be expired in about twenty-seven days. I am very sorry to report that I’ve reworked the program and have learned that we really only have a bout a week to go.” Everyone in the room gasped in astonishment. Coppertop continued. “However, I believe I may have a solution. Recent studies show us that the planet Mercury could be suitable to sustain life. I’d like to propose that all of us, along with five females, move life to Mercury and attempt to start civilization anew.” Coppertop sat down calmly, as if the proposition she’d just made were nothing to be alarmed about.
Violet, who had been silent the entire time, stood up to speak his mind. “The idea of terra-forming a planet has already been suggested. What makes you think, Coppertop, that Mercury would be any different?”
Coppertop didn’t stand up to reply; she just looked calmly at Violet and spoke. “Remains of an ancient human civilization were recently discovered there. I’ve run countless simulations, and I am certain that we’d be able to live there. However, there IS some bad news as well – we also discovered a mysterious castle on the planet’s surface.”
Sonyk stood up immediately. “When I was working for Fooruman, I overheard him talking to Black Ninja about building a fortress on a foreign planet. Fooruman may be naïve, but he’s also smart – I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he planned to move to Mercury as well.”
Faw was quick to reply. “Obviously this is what needs to be done. However, how will we select the females to accompany us to Mercury?”
Sonyk was somehow angered by Faw’s question. “I propose that we don’t bring any females along. Everyone’s thinking it, I’m just saying it – we’ve all done the tests, and we all know that Mercury’s surface would not only sustain life, it would optimize it. I suggest that instead of bringing females along to continue the species ourselves, we should bring along several newborns of each sex.”
Coppertop nodded her head in agreement before standing up to speak. “Sounds good to me. All in favor?” Everyone in the room raised their hand. “Ok,” she said, “let’s get to work.”

Thinking about the end of the world is creepy.
Nice start though, kind of gives hope. Though I don't see how nearly being broiled every day would optimize life.

Coppertop: Amazing(ly stupid) that I forgot you were female. Terribly sorry - fixed.
Heh, that's all right. Though I have to say it's the first time that's happened. :p

Thought I'd make a quick post explaining why there have been no new chapters in a while.
I've been quite busy with school lately, and have only just finished Foo Story 2. I've also been working on the uncut version of Foo Story 1. As it is now, it is just notes in a notebook and still needs to be typed.
Expect some new chapters soon, along with a Foo Story section on Foo Products.

<b>Chapter 2: Evil Lives On</b>
Fooruman looked up at the stars above him and laughed. His new castle on Mercury was perfect; thanks to a heat shield he’d created, he had even managed to prevent himself (and his castle) from being boiled by the sun. He knew the remaining resistance fighters on earth would soon discover his base on Mercury, but he wasn’t concerned; he was quite confident they would lack the technology needed to live on a planet so close to the sun. He looked down at a book sitting on a desk in front of him. “Well,” he said to himself, “If what this ancient text says is true, things are going to become quite interesting.”
Fooruman closed the book and looked once again at the stars. “Time to unleash the full potential of the greatest power in the ‘verse – the sun.”
Fooruman got into his magical anti-heat suit, picked up a spell book, and walked outside. He sealed the heat-lock on his new castle, creating an eerie blue glow around the structure, and looked up towards the sun. He mumbled a few words under his breath, and instantly the sun became ten times brighter than ever before. After about two seconds, it went back to the way it was, sending out a tremendous wave of flame and destruction. “Excellent,” he said, “When the resistance reaches Mercury, I’ll have a warm welcome ready for them – and a terrible pun, too.”
<center>**********</center>
Coppertop opened the door leading into her laboratory, walked through it, and closed the door behind her. She clapped her hands twice, and instantly the lights came on. In front of her was her greatest invention: a portable heat shielding suit, cooled by a self-replenishing source of dry ice. It wasn’t enough to protect a human from being boiled by the sun, but it was a start. Coppertop looked carefully at the part she held in her hands. “Well,” she said to herself, “I guess the combination of science and magic was inevitable. I just hope this works.”
She opened up the dry ice generator on the prototype suit and placed the component she’d found into the cooling mechanism. At first, nothing happened. She reached to take it out, disappointed; however, before she could take it out, it started to glow an eerie blue. Instantly her hand was frozen. She pulled it away quickly and began to run cold water over it. “Excellent,” she said.
The door that served as the entrance to the laboratory opened, and through it came Violet. He examined her for a minute and realized that the component she’d installed had been a success. Still, he wasn’t pleased. “Where did you find that part?” he said.
“What do you mean?” Coppertop quickly replied.
“You and I both know you haven’t been working on any new component. You obviously found it somewhere. Where?”
Coppertop finished drying off her now-thawed hand and looked at Violet for a moment. Finally, she responded. “I found it near the wreckage of Castle Foo.”

How is the sun the most powerful force in the universe? It's not like our sun is a particularly hot one.

I believe we only sticky threads that, while ongoing, have a significant period of time between posts (like Slay's thread). Otherwise they will get lost or something, I guess.

Okie, time for me to finally post a new chapter. Sorry this hasn't been updated in a while, I've had school, girls, beta testing, and also girls distracting me. Anyway, I'm back (thanks to the awesome power of the Office 12 beta), and so is the story. Here's Chapter 3.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
<b>Chapter 3: I Think I’m a Clone Now</b>
Fooruman carefully examined the printout that the Clone-O-Matic had just fired off. After reading through the printout in its entirety, Fooruman looked up at the huge machine in front of him. He then smashed in the ‘eject’ button with his fist. There was a large cracking sound, and after a short pause, Black Ninja’s clone shot out of the machine. Fooruman was pleased. “My faithful servant,” he said, “here are your clothes. Please, walk with me. Much has happened.”
Fooruman and Black Ninja walked for a while before reaching the new conference room. After Fooruman had finished explaining everything that’d happened, Black Ninja, who had been silent the entire time, finally spoke. “What would you have your servant do?”
Fooruman laughed. “Your orders are to annihilate Sonyk. I’m going to go give the remaining resistance a bit of a warning message.”
Fooruman picked up the spell book and his heat shield and headed for the door.
<center>**********</center>
Violet was furious. “Coppertop, you actually think that using a component created by Fooruman is a wise idea? After all, he’s left countless traps for us in the past.”
“Yes he has, and I am well aware of it. However, I’m also well aware that we only have a couple days before we need to kiss this planet goodbye.”
There was a loud hiss of air as the door to the lab opened, revealing Spotty. He walked into the room, closed the door, and slowly walked towards the heat suit in the center of the room, all without saying a word.
Violet frowned. “Spotty, you know full well that this is a restricted area.”
“It doesn’t matter,” Spotty said, “None of this matters. The humans of old couldn’t colonize Mercury. How will we colonize it in a matter of days, especially with Fooruman against us?”
“Good point,” Violet said, “Let’s all just give up now and wait for our slow, painful suffocation.”
Spotty turned to the window on the southeast corner of the lab and walked towards it. He looked out and saw exactly what he expected to see – pitch black. Just as he began to turn around, a blinding light pierced through the thick cloud of ash that had replaced the atmosphere. A dead tree just outside the window exploded in a cloud of fire. Spotty fell to the ground, temporarily blinded by the piercing light. Then, just as quick as the light had appeared, it was gone.
Violet rubbed his eyes and looked out the window for a moment before saying anything. He then turned to Coppertop. “Coppertop, I really hope you know what you’re doing. Fooruman obviously does.”
Violet then turned on a dime and headed for the door. He opened it up, walked through it, and closed it behind him.
Coppertop watched the door close behind Violet and sighed. “Spotty,” she said slowly, “Do you think we have any chance at all?”
Spotty stood back up, walked a few steps, and then fell again, still blinded. “Well,” he said, “Not really.”

<b>Chapter 4: Delusions and Grandeur</b>
Fooruman was proud of the fortress he’d built on Mercury. It was twice as secure as any of his previous fortresses on Earth, and it was twice as well-armed as well. For once, Fooruman truly had built the perfect castle. He stood atop a spire that was surrounded by his special heat-blocking material. As he looked down at the castle he’d built, his mind suddenly snapped. He was consumed by the fact that this was one fight he stood a decent chance of winning. He could think of nothing else; the only thing on his mind was finally destroying the resistance that had so long plagued him. He wanted to win – DESERVED to win. It was HIS planet now, not theirs.
Fooruman was taken away from his thoughts when an alarm started blaring. He heard Black Ninja’s voice over the intercom. “Master, there is an incoming missile! I think the resistance is trying to wipe us out before they even set foot on this planet! What would you have me do?”
Fooruman laughed before speaking into the intercom. “Obviously we don’t want missiles flying at us. Fire one of our missiles straight at it.”
“Yes, master.”
Fooruman watched as the enemy missile approached. Suddenly, the ground beneath him shook. A missile blasted out of their fortress and hit the enemy missile head on. “Excellent,” he said, “Nothing can ever penetrate these castle walls.”
Fooruman turned around and began to head down the spiral staircase. He looked out the window and saw a missile heading straight towards him.
Black Ninja’s voice quickly came over the intercom. “Master, they tricked us! Another missile is on the way, and I can’t sto--“
The castle exploded instantly in a tremendous cloud of flame. The flame was instantly sucked out into space, but there was a huge chunk of wall missing on the side of the castle. Fooruman picked himself up off the ground and examined the ruined wall. He instantly called Black Ninja to start work on fixing it.
<center>**********</center>
Coppertop laughed. “We did it!” she screamed. “We hit Fooruman right where it counts.” Coppertop then spun her chair around to face everyone else in the room.
Violet was, for the first time in a long while, pleased. “That was a brilliant maneuver, Coppertop.”
Coppertop blushed for a moment before becoming serious again. “Ok everyone, we have a very limited amount of time before we need to blast off this rock. Violet, stay here with me for a while and help me set the correct angle of trajectory. Everyone else, begin loading your things into the rocket. Make sure the test subjects for Operation: Repopulation are ready. Move with a purpose, people!”
With that said, everyone began working. Coppertop turned her chair around again to face the controls in front of her once more, this time with Violet’s help.
“Ok,” Violet said, “Time to bid our fond farewell to planet Earth.”
<center>**********</center>
Fooruman admired the newly repaired wall and smiled. He knew he wouldn’t fail; he couldn’t. His castle was excellent. No enemy could ever withstand his might. Fooruman turned around from the window, obsessed with the greatness he had achieved. He clicked on the intercom to Black Ninja and spoke. “Black Ninja, you have seven hours to prepare the defenses for our final assault against the rebellion. I think they’re on their way.”
Black Ninja’s voice came through the intercom. “How did you know that? I was just about to call you with the status report.”
Fooruman grinned before replying. “I know everything.”

Wait, major Plot hole. If Fooruman really knew everything, why didn't he also warn BN about the second missle? If he did, they would have more time to prepare the defenses.

Considering how easy it was to repair that wall, I'd assume Fooruman didn't warn about it just to make the rebels get overconfidant.

Here it is, ladies and gentlemen. The powerful ending to Foo Story 2. There will be, obviously, a Foo Story 3. I can't wait for it to be posted; the ending is extremely powerful, and finally explains why all the death and destruction were necessary - well, I guess I won't reveal anymore about that.

<b>Chapter 5: The Beginning of the End</b>
Violet looked at the members of GTC with pride as he walked towards his seat at the head of the conference table. After sitting down, he paused for a few moments before speaking. Finally, he allowed himself to speak his mind. “Six hours into the journey and everything’s been smooth.” He swallowed hard, as if fighting back tears. “I just want to say how very proud I am – of all of you. In an hour or so, we’ll be approaching planet Mercury. Everyone get some rest. Once we land, we’re going to have a lot of work to do and a very short time to do it. Dismissed.”
With that, everyone in the room stood up and, without a word, walked out of the conference room to their chambers. Violet watched them leave and, as soon as the final door was closed, began to cry.
<center>**********</center>
Fooruman quickly woke up as his alarm sounded. He ran at full speed to his computer to see the cause of the alarm – a proximity alert! He quickly reached for the intercom and spoke into it. “The time has come, my faithful servant! Vengeance shall be mine! Fetch my spell book and bring it to the conference room. I’ll meet you there shortly.”
“Yes, sir. Right away.”
Fooruman put the intercom back in its dock and looked at his monitor, watching the incoming spaceship. He turned around, grabbed the door handle, slowly turned it, pulled back, and walked out it. He walked down the hall in a state of euphoria; his victory was nigh. He was finally going to win – finally going to prove his power. After about a five minutes’ walk, he reached the conference room. Black Ninja was already there, seated. Fooruman walked past him and sat down. After about a minute of silence, Fooruman grabbed a remote and pressed a button on it. A huge projector appeared in the center of the table, facing the western wall of the conference room. Fooruman hit another button and it turned on, showing a live feed of the resistance’s landing sequence. Fooruman finally spoke. “Pass me my spell book.”
<center>**********</center>
Violet stood in front of everyone with a tear in his eye. “Well, everyone, we’re here. Currently, there are five portables set up. They all have gravity and chemical levels that strongly resemble Earth norm. Sonyk, stay here. I have a job for you. Everyone else, head to portable two. Coppertop has some basic precautions to go over with you. Move with a purpose, people!”
As everyone siphoned out, Sonyk walked slowly towards Violet, unsure what his job would be.
“Ah, Sonyk,” Violet said, “Just the man I need. I have a special job for you; no, it’s not optional. You are the only person here who can do this. I need you to go and scout out Fooruman’s fortress for me. There’s a special heat suit over there – it won’t make you invulnerable, but it should protect you from higher temperatures than any of our other suits would. Good luck, soldier.” Violet saluted and walked out towards portable two.
<center>**********</center>
Fooruman watched Sonyk walk out of the portable and laughed. “He thinks he’s safe – he thinks he’s won! This is it, my faithful servant. We will have our vengeance.”
Black Ninja got out of his seat and took a seat closer to the monitor. He heard Fooruman begin to mutter words from the spell book and knew the time of his vengeance was at hand.
<center>**********</center>
Sonyk stood atop a hill and took out his binoculars. It looked like Fooruman’s fortress was about a mile away. Sonyk looked up. “Hmm,” he thought, “The sun looks a bit brighter than usual.”
Ignoring the thought, he pressed on and continued walking. Suddenly there was a bright flash. Sonyk looked up again and the sun seemed dark, as though some of its flaming intensity had been exhausted. He suddenly realized what was happening. “Oh, crap,” he said. He started running full-sprint towards Fooruman’s fortress.
A huge beam of pure energy hit Sonyk’s body, instantly engulfing him in flames. The flames were instantly sucked into space. Despite being severely burned, Sonyk continued to run as fast as he could, hoping he could make it. It was becoming unbearably hot; he could barely feel his own limbs. Then, in an instant, the heat intensified. Nothing remained of Sonyk; not even a pile of ash. The chemicals from his re-breather exploded, leaving another cloud of fire in the vast emptiness of space.
<center>**********</center>
Black Ninja was in a state of ecstasy as he watched his enemy burn and suffer before dying. He let out a maniacal laugh as the re-breather exploded in a cloud of flame.
Fooruman laughed. “You see, Black Ninja? Our victory is assured. No enemy has ever withstood our might – and they never will.”
<center>**********</center>
Coppertop ran as fast as she could to portable one, where Violet was currently doing research. She ripped the door open as quickly as she could and slammed it behind her. “Violet, sir,” she gasped for breath, “Sonyk has…” she paused, “Sonyk has been killed by Fooruman.
Violet cursed under his breath. After spending a few moments in silence, apparently deep in thought, he grabbed his intercom and spoke into it. “Attention portables two and three. We have a code gray. I repeat, code gray. I’m putting quarantine into effect – everyone report to portable one’s conference room immediately. If anyone has anything to say that isn’t helping me out, I insist you shut the heck up, or so help me, I will shoot you down.”
Violet put the intercom back into its dock and walked silently into the next room. He sat down at the end of the table and waited.
Within a minute, Spotty, Coppertop, and Faw walked in. They all sat down silently, without even looking at each other.
After thinking over his words for a few moments, Violet spoke. “Sonyk is dead. Yes, dead. That’s why now I need to ask more of you than I have before. Our resistance is, in all reality, destined to fail. There is no doubt of that in my mind. However, I would like to propose that if we must go out, we may as well go out in a blaze of glory. I plan to make a final assault on Fooruman’s fortress. He doesn’t know about operation: repopulation; I believe that if we attack him with all our force, the test subjects for this operation will be able to live and successfully complete the mission. I believe that this night holds the very meaning of our lives – what if, tonight, the fighting could be over? Isn’t that worth dying for? Who will join me?”
For about ten minutes, everyone was silent. Finally, Spotty stood up and stretched out his arm to the middle of the conference table. “I’m in,” he said.
Coppertop soon did the same, followed by Faw and Violet.
“Ok,” Violet said, “Let’s do this.”
